Weekly Share: Other JCrew-like Retailers

This is the weekly "Other JCrew-like Retailers" post (similar to the "Off On A Tangent" posts), where we can share our finds from other retailers that have offerings similar to J.Crew (like Anthropologie, LE Canvas, Gap, BR, Talbots, Ann Taylor, and the like.)

If you have recently encountered items that are similar to J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including experiences with certain merchandise pieces, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

  1. I just received wide-legged trousers and the striped shirt dress from Everlane. I HIGHLY recommend! They are beautifully made and reasonably priced. The pants, on sale, fit me well, unlike more JCrew pants. I have room in the thigh, while the waist fits (I am a 00 in JCrew skirts and 2 in pants to accommodate dancer legs and always need to alter waist). I sized down in these as recommended. The dress is exactly what I've been looking for. Striped shirting material that is NOT see through, and the length is midi but with side slits that are 1-2" above my knee. Very wearable. Looks cute belted or not. $78!! They have a linen version of this dress online that looks a bit shorter too.

  2. I've found a few cute things recently at Old Navy. The Harper pant in chambray blue and white gingham is perfect for this season's gingham mania. Currently the whole store is 30% off or 40% off if you use your gap family card. I posted some pics of the pants, a fun white swing top with tassels & scrolling further back, an ivory fringed poncho on my Instagram @shoppingcelle if you want to take a look.

  4. A couple of winners from Ann Taylor:

    * Louisa Block Heel Leather Sandals: TTS and inCREdibly comfortable. The leather does not cut into your skin at all, and Ann Taylor padded soles are so great.

    * Pineapple Belted Pocket Dress: Practically all cotton (with a little stretch). TTS and very cute on. I was a little leary of the pineapple print, but I love the rich yellow color and the print is surprisingly not annoying at all. (I like it more than that description would convey...) It fits a lot like the JC wrap dress in cotton poplin (also a definite winner, IMO).

    * Zosia Tortoiseshell Patent Slingback: I had to go up 1/2 a size, as I do with all pointy shoes. Not as comfy as the block heel sandals, but an easy height to wear.

    * Devin pants: This fits similar to standard JC sizing. I find that pants, in particular, are very specific to certain body types, and for me, AT pants fit far better than JC and Banana. I am non-waisted, but with a fairly muscular lower body, and JC and Banana tend to be too loose in the upper thighs which leaves a baggy crotch look on me that is not good. Devin pants have stretch, and are narrow in the upper leg. I love them; they are uniformly comfortable and wear and wash well.

    1. AudreyS. I haven't tried them but I thought the pineapple print shorts that AT had in the window were super cute!

    2. AudreyS, I totally love the AT Devin pants as well. They do wear well, you're right. They never get baggy or stretched out, unlike my JC Teddies. Devins are my new go-to.

  6. My stalking paid off and I was able to score the metallic navy cardigan from BR for additional 50% off sale prices today at my local store, even though it was sold out online. I also got a nice linen T for $16 CAD.
