Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. I didn't visit J. Crew, but from Madewell I purchased the Cruiser Straight Crop Jeans in Roger wash (f2816). I also tried on the Cruiser Straight Crop jeans in Preston wash (e9639). The Preston wash is 100% cotton, no stretch. The Roger wash has 2% stretch which is why I liked them better. They fit the same, though (I took my Toothpick jean size in both). The rise is high (10"), which is not my thing but these were comfortable and flattering. The Preston wash was uncomfortable for me.

  2. I also bought Madewell's Back Zip Swing Tee (E4430). TTS. I really like this one, it's a nice early spring weight, not too short (so many of their tops are cropped lately).

  3. I ordered the tortoise Gemma with the promo. They are sold out now in almost every size. I really feel like I needed these. I ordered my usual Gemma size 8 and hoping for the best. Otherwise, no store trip for me.

    1. I love these. But I have a pair of tortoise pointy-toe flats from Ann Taylor already, so no need. I wear them a lot, though! I've found that I reach for this pair, my leopard flats or my silver Ceces the most.

    2. I was going to chance it to see if they would get a pair at the clearance store but I am afraid to risk it and besides it would probably be months from now before they trickle through. I think I will wear them a bunch as well.

  5. I did. I tried on a lot of stuff but didn't buy anything. I did buy a couple of things online. In store, I tried on mostly pants and hated all of them. I really don't like that the wide-leg crop look is in style and I'm hoping this trend only lasts a couple of seasons.

    1. Yeah I can't with all this cropped, wide leg, flared business. It is one of the most unflattering trends I've seen in a while.

    3. I've tried many pairs of cropped/kick flare jeans and also the Teddie pants and I give up, none look good. I guess this style is not for me.

  6. I went to two locations. Got the gray sweatshirt with all those blue flowers on it and the heather blue split heart tee. I guess heart tee is sold out online and in most stores...I did buy xxs and normally buy xs in their tees but it it fits ok prob best with a skirt.

  7. A little OT, but maybe not since we all discuss this so much (perhaps this topic deserves its own header :-). Story from NPR on the environmental effects of "fast fashion". There are links to other related stories in the article. Happy Monday! http://www.npr.org/2016/04/08/473513620/what-happens-when-fashion-becomes-fast-disposable-and-cheap

    1. Thank you for posting this. It always helps me to reign my spending in after I read articles like this. I blew my March budget and really should cut back at least through the end of June. This helps motivate me to do so. Hopefully I can keep going and not stop once July hits. I know I really do have more clothing than any one person needs.

    1. Hi Anna Maria, since it was already included in a promo I think there's an excellent chance that it will be again. Look forward to your thoughts on it if you do buy it. :)

  12. I just got the SILK SHIFT DRESS IN POLKA DOT and I love it! At first I wasn't interested because it looks kind of shapeless/baggy on the model (#modelproblems) but then it went on sale and I read all the positive reviews, particularly that it was more shaped that it looked, and wow, it is so cute in person! It's long enough to be work appropriate, and it could go dressy or casual with heels/sandals/white leather sneakers. And, it's silk! 78 dollars on sale, not too shabby.

  13. Hi again ladies! Love the gazebo pant but wondering on sizing, it's linen do I go up a size? I'm usually a 10 in most pants from other retail.

    1. Probably. I had a chance to try these in store on Saturday and found the larger of my two usual size quite tight. I didn't try on a size larger as these pants were not flattering on me.

    2. Anna Maria, I went with my normal size 8. Pics on my IG (peterst1). Tried them with metallic popover a few weeks ago.
