Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. I won't be visiting this weekend, but did send back a couple of returns through the mail this week. I had mentioned that the Daisy Tortoise Earrings are super cute, but due to my longer hair they can barely be seen, so back they went. I also ended up returning the Chateau Trench because I just couldn't get a good fit in the shoulder/armpit area, and I tried two different sizes, too. Too bad, because it's such a cute coat, and the sale price has been extra good.

In other shopping-related news...I've shared my list of sales & deals taking place around the web this weekend, along with my personal picks from each retailer in this post, for those interested.

Have a lovely weekend everyone! :)

  2. Any reviews on the factory margo mules? They have two five star rating online, but I'd like your opinion, JCA :)

  3. I will not be visiting, I have already done my damage at the clearance store. I found the color block pom-pom flats in my size and also the black suede tassel and orange tassel sandals (love these but would not pay $168.00). Also, picked up a pair of toothpick jeans and the patchwork Sunday slim chinos. I was extra excited about the shoes because I really wanted the pom-pom flats. All of this was less than $100.00. I did try on the new trench cape in navy while I was there, it is bizarre IMO (the belt and the placement of the slits for your arms). Although, as soon as I hung it back up, another customer quickly snagged it up because she thought it looked cute on me. I didn't like it on me and secretly, I didn't like it on her either. I really am not buying unless I just love it!

    3. Shopping Celle, I saw on your instagram that you had been able to get a pair...I am the same way, skeptical until I have them in my hand. Mygoddy, I don't know where you live, but if you can make it to one of the stores, you will be amazed. I did find out that the shipments have changed at the Arden location. Apparently, they used to get their stuff after it went through the Lynchburg location and I think stuff got picked over and then Lynchburg sent one big shipment per week on to the Arden store. Now, they say that shipments are coming directly from the stores and they (Arden location) get them everyday. They said not only are they getting the most current merchandise but it is in better condition because it is not going through the other location first. That tells me that I should order like 20 pairs of size 8 shoes in each style I want, return them, wait for them to trickle back to the clearance store, buy them, live happily ever after. LOL

    4. @doodle And share with your size 8 friends who live too far :))

    5. @DD LOL on the shopping strategy! I live in Texas but have a summer trip to the ATL for a conference. So, may try after the conference ends since the drive to Arden is feasible.

    6. Mygoddy, if you can, I would do it. Asheville is a great place to spend the day and lots of other stuff to do besides the clearance store. Biltmore Estate is only 15 minutes away and a nice outlet mall (J.Crew factory) is only 3 miles from the clearance store on the same road. I often wonder how many J.Crew fans stop at the outlet mall and don't even know about the clearance store that is literally 3 miles down the same road in an industrial complex with way better stuff.

    7. @DD, thanks so much for the additional information. It's very helpful!

    8. Thanks for the info, DD. I have been trying to get the Biltmore forever, and now I have an additional reason to try: )

    9. @DD- amazing finds, wow! Do you ever go to the Lynchburg clearance store? Am wondering how that compares. We are driving to Florida in June (from Canada) and am trying to figure any possible way I can coerce my hubby and little ones to stop in Lynchburg.

    10. I have only been to the store in Lynchburg one time. It is much bigger but I didn't really find anything good that day like I do in Arden. The Arden store is just about 3 miles off the exit but Lynchburg is way off. The one time I went, we were driving from D.C. back to Knoxville and we had to reroute our trip to accommodate the 60 miles it is off insterstate 81 and come down some back roads. The only way my husband agreed was if I drove. I said no problem, pull over and we'll swap.

    11. @DD, thank you! Lynchburg is the only one that is not out of the way too much as we would cross from the 81 to the 95 eventually after Lynchburg. I'm trying to figure out if it's worth the hassle. :)

    12. Call them ahead of time and see what they have. If there is something specific and you call that morning, they will hold it until you get there that day. The Arden store is awesome for that especially for something easily recognizable like some shoe styles, jewelry is hard because it can be difficult to describe.

    13. @DD, that's fantastic, thank you for letting me know! If I go I would realistically get there around 6pm which is sad but it's the only option and at least I'd get to visit it I guess.

  4. For anyone who missed the gingham trench coat, Lands End has a similar one at Sears. It's $109 before discounts.

  5. I'm trying to stay away from Jcrew this weekend but still love to hear about everyone else's shopping. I went on Tuesday and bought the pink deck stripe tee, two of the linen merino sweaters, the orange tassel & triple tassel necklaces. I have been ordering online like crazy too. 4 items are already enroute and I placed another order this morning. Yikes!

    1. I picked up the triple tassel necklace today, too. Was sorry to find that the gray dot tee has already sold out. However, I need another gray tee like I need a hole in my head!

    2. Shopalot, I just popped over to the website and saw they gray dot tee. It wasn't on my radar but it is pretty cute!

    3. The ivory/navy dot tee issuer cute, too. Unfortunately, it's very sheer. I saw a lot of great colors in the linen v-neck tees and especially liked the metallic moss green one as I am a sucker for sparkle.

  6. So much for not shopping myself, I ordered the Point Sur selvedge jeans in the Warnell wash when they popped back. Size 26 which should fit a little slouchy. (I may return the Orran wash ones which are a darker wash). Also, since I was ordering, I got the chambray shirt that was on clearance, the convertible anorak in the red color (which I don't exactly need but figured I'd try it) and the sleeveless peplum top in 120 wool. I saw that over the winter and was considering it but for some reason it was final sale when it was first out. I ordered two sizes. I think it would look nice with the wide leg pants in wool as a chic alternative to a dress (where am I going?!). Proportions may not work for my long torso but it's not final sale so I had to try.

    1. Those all sound fab. Glad to know I'm not the only one! I may need to do a no shop May! 😬😬. Nah!

    2. Agree with Shopping Celle about your choices! I also purchased the anorak in the fiery sunset. I needed a rain jacket for travel and I'm happy with the purchase. Will get a chance to try it out when I leave for India next week. I think the original price is a bit much, but the current sale price makes sense to me.

    3. I have the peplum top in dark gray and colorblock and love them. Great work alternative at a great price. I had originally sized down as the reviews stated the top seemed to run large but the top seam of the peplum was too tight around the bottom of my rib cage and looked tight too. Reordered in my normal size and it was a much better fit for me personally. I could get the shoulders taken up a bit as the top is a bit big up top but I can live with the fit for the time being. Hope the top works for you. Definitely cute.

  8. Online only Button-front midi skirt in light blue denim is great, fits tts at my natural waist, very light summery weight.

  9. I needed to order a wallet @ Nordstrom since my everyday LV doesn't fit the small Marcie Chloe that I use for travel. If anyone is looking for a "reasonable" LV wallet, I recommend the compact Sarah. So, I stopped by J Crew since I was @ the mall. Tried the 10% tee in navy/white stripe and black/ivory stripe. This is Not a $95 tee. The sale price on both seems to be more realistic as the initial price...even that's a bit of a stretch. The tee is soft but not über soft; I was expecting the tee to feel like Vince quality and it doesn't. The black/ivory is somewhat sheer; I want to layer it with a Helmut Lang tee, so I sized up; the fit is tts and I tried a medium in the navy/white with no issue. There's no need to layer the darker colors. I only bought the black/ivory; after my discounts is was $33. May pick up the navy stripe and a couple of solid colors if they're discounted further. I also picked up the new linen stripe tank in navy/white. I Iike the slight cutout of the shoulders; going to see how it pairs with linen shorts and pants. If it works, this will be a good option for my trip next week.

  12. I've been on the lookout for Perfect-fit and Favorite tanks in blues, green, pinks etc. I need to replace some from years past for some time now, but I never see the variety of pretty colors like I used to see. Anyone know why these tanks come in so few colors now?
