Jenna at the Oscar Party {like her dress?}

Every once in awhile, J.Crew's 770 blog offers really interesting insight into their inner workings. Their "Getting (Oscar) Ready" post is one of them:
This past weekend Jenna headed to Hollywood to attend the annual Vanity Fair Oscar Party at the Sunset Tower Hotel. So what does one wear to one of the year’s hottest tickets? A custom dress of her own (J.Crew) design, of course.
Here, five of her favorite star-studded moments of the night…
  1. “Having Amy Poehler introduce herself to me—and say she knew who I was—and that she was a J.Crew fan. I almost died.”
  2. “The gracious Anne Hathaway casually carrying her Oscar around. (I touched it!!)”
  3. “Being in the same room as people I’ve watched and loved for years.”
  4. “The In-and-Out burgers served at the after-party. I love a high-low mix.”
  5. “Dancing until 4:30 am at Madonna’s house. Yes, Madonna. She is still just as hot as she was when I was 16. You do the math. On second thought…don’t.”
P.S. We love the idea one of our Instagram fans had to turn Jenna’s Oscar party design into a wedding dress. (Look for it in spring 2014.)

Photography Bryan Derballa.
It would have been nice to see an image showing the front of the dress. Alas, the 770 blog did not include one in their multi-shot. However, J.Crew did offer a link to one on their Instagram site (image shown directly below).

I also found another front view over at BusinessInsider (click here). From the images on J.Crew's blog & Instagram, the dress on Jenna looks rather pretty. However, seeing the full view outside the party... yikes! Jenna is a gorgeous woman and the dress designed for her does her no help. It just looks awkward. Maybe this is the type of dress that you have to be posing in a certain way to make it work?
In regards to the notes, I love NBC's "Parks & Rec". To get recognized by Amy Poehler is pretty awesome.

What are your thoughts on Jenna Lyons outfit? Do you like the overall style, length, color scheme?

Quick Poll: Do you like the dress Jenna Lyon's is wearing?

JGIC Product Review: Denim Reviews {High, Medium & Low}

A big "thanks!" to J.Crew Guy In Canada who is graciously reviewing Men's items from J.Crew with us. In this review, he looks at several denim items for men:

Denim, all of us are forever in search of the perfect pair or better yet the perfect pair on sale.  While I'm not a jean snob or denim head here's my take on high, medium and low denim.  I'll start low, aka cheap and work my way up.

Levis 514, decent straight cut, slightly narrow opening and available is an amazing range of washed and denim.  You can find them at department stores or better yet stores like T.J. Max or the Canadian version Winners.  You can regularly find them for as low as $29.  They've even been spotted at Costco for a little over $8 which is insane.  How is that possible?  The jeans are good, very serviceable and can't be beat for $29 let alone $8.  More of a medium rise, these size honestly, meaning the real size of your waist and inseam.  Thankfully the label showing your waist sizes quickly fades after several washing so people won't be able to read what your 'real' size is.

An average priced denim is J.Crew's slim straight cut.  Ever so slightly slimmer
than the Levis 514s and also available in a variety of washes.  My personal favorite is the slim-straight jean in dark worn wash #29243 for about $100.  Great fit, ever so slightly distressed, but without the heavy handed over the top finishing some denim has.  I prefer my jeans to look natural and not overly processed, much like how I like food. These jeans are such a great fit, slim not skinny and so easy to put with a blazer or sweater and look dressed up.  I usually wear a 30" inseam, but I ordered these in 32" and that length was perfect, long enough to fit the floor, but not that they'll drag on the floor. A lower rise than the Levis, but not as low rise as the J.Brand; I classify these as a true mid rise. Dress pants need to be slim without a break, showing a little ankle while denim should be slightly longer with ankles fully covered.  Haven't done the rolled cuff look yet, maybe if I was living in Williams-burg or ten (fifteen?) years younger.  Whatever size you wear in other J.Crew pants will be the same in their denim.

Ah premium denim, the thing you buy on payday, but never when you're flat broke.  Tough to rationalize laying out $250 or more for jeans.  I am not a fan of the over bedazzled back pockets, heavy handed distressed/processed denim and the idea of paying to have holes in jeans escapes me.  My favorite high end denim company is J.Brand.  Well made in the US, beautiful denim with minimal distressing.  Johnny or Kane are both great fits in a wide range of washes.  These are true low rise and have an incredible fit with the softest denim.  Like J.Crew vanity sizing happens with J.Brand and you'll move down at least an inch from what you wear in Levis.

All three of these are avaliable in corduroy, which is also a great option.  Now what will I buy next time?  After wearing both J.Brand and J.Crew I will say good-bye to Levis 514s.  The other two have better cuts and far nicer denim, even if it's several times the price.  With J.Brand being over twice the price of the slim-straight cut from Jenna and company it'll be J.Crew for me next time, they really nailed it with fit and fabric.  When you try them on be sure to look in the mirror at your but, because everyone else will be.  And if you need to get your denim shortened promise me you'll get them with the original hem, slightly more expensive than the standard hem, but they will look so much better.  And none of these are the dreaded mom or dad jeans.
Another fantastic review! "Thanks!" again to J.Crew Guy In Canada for his great reviews on jeans, and finding that perfect pair.

Are you a fan of J.Crew's denim? Are there any pieces that you would highly recommend to buy or avoid? If so, please share with us your review. :)

J.Crew Updates Website with New Arrivals!

"Thanks!" to many of you, including AD MD & Tammy (in this post), who let us know that J.Crew had an update to its website today (click here to view online).

There are some new arrivals for men (click here) & women (click here). {wahoo!} It looks like Crewcuts (click here) has been updated, but not the J.Crew Collection (click here). Unfortunately, the latest catalog (click here to view) is not yet available to view.

As many of you have already noticed and mentioned, many of the new arrivals on J.Crew's website are already available in J.Crew's brick & mortar stores.

My top pick is still the Stripe Necklace Sweater (item 86132; $148). What is not to love about a sweater that includes its own accessory. The built-in necklace takes out the guesswork of what to wear with the top. The only down side? Dry clean only. I can only imagine what would happen to the crystals in a washing machine... not good.

My other thoughts on what I love:
  • Silk-Collar Tee (item 59448; $75.00): Just a simple short sleeve top with a simple peter pan collar. But I love it. It seems so perfectly chic. I will take one in both colors please!
  • Peony Tee (item 99196; $45.00): J.Crew was known for coming out with the best designed tees for Women. However, the past couple of years the designs were meh. Well, they are making a comeback with this adorable top. The design is so pretty, I want to frame it!
  • Bright Droplet Necklace (item 01165; $58.00): This necklace reminds me of one J.Crew offered in yellow many years ago. It is such a delicate, lovely piece! I must not be the only one who likes this piece because it is already wait-listed.
  • Enameled Dolphin Bangle (item 76949; $98.00): Not only do I love the colors and the overall jewel design, it is shaped like a dolphin. This bracelet is adorable!
My thoughts on what I question:
  • Hugo Guinness for J.Crew Cashmere Terrier Sweater (item 38838; $398.00): Much like the "Darling" sweater, it's cute. It reminds me of J.Crew's Scottie Sweater (which I own and love!) But not at that price. Yikes!
  • Collection Dot Gauze Shell (item 31940; $128.00): Is it just me, or does this top look see-through? No thank you. Pass for me.
  • Indigo Floral Quilted Jacket (item 63825; $228.00): I saw this jacket in my local store. The print is very pretty and the fabric is very soft. However, all I could think about it was that it looks like a Vera Bradley print.
  • Lightweight Washed Chambray Dress (item 52424; $118.00): Good luck J.Crew selling this sack-of-potatoes dress! I have no doubt a JCA could make this look fabulous with the right accessories and layering. But by itself, this dress is a hot mess.
  • Let's Bring Back By Lulu Frost Impromptu Necklace (item 89075; $360.00). One word: Yuk.

Exciting news! J.Crew is offering free shipping on all orders (no min!) with promo code FREESHIP. This amazing offer expires March 3, 2013.

Side Note: I wanted to mention that the Sale Section (click here to shop online) had a nice update this morning for Women (1140+ items) and Men (495+).

What items are you most excited about and why? Which items are you surprised (or not surprised) to see? Which items did you hope would be included? Were you expecting a bigger roll-out today? Also, did you receive the latest catalog? :)

Special Treatment: 20% Off & Free Shipping at JCrew.com

"Thanks!" to many of you, in various posts, who shared the following news with us: J.Crew is sending out emails to customers with a unique 20% off (no min!) and free shipping (no min!) code.

The code is being sent in an email to both cardmembers and non-cardmembers. It can be used on any regular or sale priced item (but does exclude third-party branded merchandise). The code can only be used one-time and expires March 2, 2013.

It is nice to see such an unexpected perk for customers. I am not sure how J.Crew determined which customers are their "best", but yey for all those with the email!!!

Did you get the 20% off email from J.Crew recently? Do you think this promotion will entice you? Please share!

Secret Sale at J.Crew {in store only}

"Thanks!" to Shopping Celle & GigiOfCa (in this post), as well as Kelly, who shared the following news: J.Crew is offering a secret sale of 20% off {women's only} apparel and accessories at brick and mortar (B&M) stores.

This sale runs from tomorrow, Wednesday, February 27, through Sunday, March 3, 2013. This sale does specifically exclude men's merchandise, women's jewelry, and shoes. Moreover, this sale may not be combined with other discounts.

This extra percent off makes new arrivals look extra enticing! Plus, customers do not have to worry about any purchase being "final sale". (A huge bonus in my book!)

It is unclear how many B&M stores across the country will be participating in this promotion. Definitely worth a visit if you live near a store or a call beforehand to find out.

Is your store offering this "secret sale"? Will you be checking out the Secret Sale section? Are there any items you are hoping to see or to get?

P.S. Apologies to many JCAs for not emailing back quickly, as well as keeping up with J.Crew news on this blog, as I should. This week (and last week) has been crazy hectic for me. I am hoping to catch up by the weekend. :)

J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs!}

This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.

So if you have recently purchased, or stopped by a J.Crew store to try on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.

In particular, if you could mention a few of the noteworthy details like fit, size, fabric, and the like— that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance! :)

The Great (Weekly) Exchange {looking to sell}

This post (of weekly posts) is for individual members who want to swap/sell/share among yourselves. This post is where you can mention your items and outside listing/ auction site (like eBay and eCrater & the corresponding user ID).

Please note: this posting is not for resellers, retailers or businesses. If you are a reseller, retailer, or a business, your comment gets automatically deleted & you will get publicly called out on it. :( So instead of this, simply do not post in the Weekly Exchanges. Thanks in advance for your cooperation! :)

Please note that any transactions are independent of this blog. (Especially since you will be using an outside listing/ auction site like eBay or eCrater.) I have no dealings or interactions with any of the potential communication, listings, or transactions. :) Moreover, please limit comments about items to swap/sell/share to the "Great (Weekly) Exchange" posts. (Refer to "A Quick Note to J.Crew Aficionadas" post.)

Do you have any items you would like to swap/sell/share among yourselves through your outside listing/auction site?

Sidenote: What's up with JCAs writing "sub" or "subscribing" as their comment? It just means they are subscribing to all the comments (which are then automatically sent to their email) in that particular thread. This way they can stay aware of all the comments posted. :)

Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the WINTER sale, or to see some new SPRING arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

The Great (Weekly) Exchange {looking to find}

J.Crew Final Sale {nice update}

J.Crew has a really nice update to their Final Sale section online (click here) this morning. Lots of merchandise for everyone (1200+ for Women and 540+ for Men). Yey!

Plus there are a lot of new items that got markdown. For example, the Shoe-Sketch Scarf (Item 35067; $65.00) is now on sale for $49.99. (If I remember correctly, this just got released a few weeks ago. It is relatively a "new arrival" item.)

As you might expect, some of the pop-back items are selling out quickly due to low inventory. However, the sale section (as a whole) is not moving as quickly as it normally does. I think it might have to do with the lack of an additional percent off promo. (I know that is what is keeping me from pulling the trigger on a few items.)

It is also worth mentioning that several brick & mortar (B&M) stores are still running an additional 30% off their Final Sale. Many stores will price match the online sale price (before additional discount). So it might be worth a stop to look around.

Did you check out the Final Sale section today? Were you able to snag any amazing deals? If so, please share! :)

Sneak Peak: J.Crew's March 2013 Catalog

A big "thanks!" to cuckoo4crew who scanned several pages from Women's Section of the March 2013 catalog for us to view. There are lots of cute items in the upcoming collection! Just view the slideshow above or for a full screen slideshow, click here.

I was able to get my hands on a copy of the catalog today and it really is gorgeous! There are so many pretty things that are slated for the new arrivals. The big category winners in my book are the jewerly (love the necklaces!) and the sweaters (crushing on the embellishments).
My top love is the Stripe Necklace Sweater (item 86132; $148). (It is the sweater on the model to the right.) The merino wool sweater in the green and navy stripe has a "1940s-era necklace" that is "meticulously recreated in hand-applied crystals". Seriously, ama-zing.

 Second pick is the Glass Petals Necklace (item 76129; $125.00). It is the second to top necklace on the left page, and worn by the model on the right page. The lime sherbet eye-candy is both dazzling and simple in its design. Definitely swoon-worthy.

The one piece I am most confused by is the Let's Bring Back By Lulu Frost Impromptu Necklace (item 89075; $360.00). This necklace is worn by the above model, on the right. If you look carefully, it is suppose to be a mouth with crystals, and glass pearls for teeth. It is just weird. Not sure if this type of piece would be worn for more than one-season as a playful {expensive} accessory.

As many of you have mentioned already, some brick and mortar (B&M) stores have already put out new arrivals on the shelves. Many stores already have the catalog out as well. Hopefully, we should be seeing JCrew.com reflect the addition of these new arrivals soon!

What are your thoughts on the upcoming catalog? Do you like the outfits featured in the catalog?

J.Crew Factory: 30% Off New Spring Arrivals

"Thanks!" to many of you, who shared the following email & promotion for J.Crew Factory.

There are so many pretty new things over at J.Crew Factory. It is definitely worth a look.
As usual, my favorite thing to look at is the "outfit obsessions" section. The simple styling is perfectly chic and on-trend. Loves it!

Did you check out the Factory site today? Were you able to snag any amazing deals? If so, please share! :)

Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

Got Some Extra Cash? Visit the J.Crew Offices with Jenna Lyons {for charity}

"Thanks!" to Stephanie, who shared the following upcoming J.Crew-related auction for charity with us.

Over at CharityBuzz (click here), there is a current auction donated by Ms. Lyons herself, to "Tour the NYC Offices of J.Crew, Go Behind-the-Scenes on a Photo Shoot, and Have Lunch with the Brand's President & Executive Creative Director, Jenna Lyons". The lot details include:
This is your opportunity to tour the New York City offices of J.Crew and go behind-the-scenes of a photo shoot. In addition, you will have lunch with the brand's President & Executive Creative Director, Jenna Lyons, during a 1-hour meeting!

During your sit-down with Ms. Lyons, you will see firsthand what goes on behind the scenes of an iconic American brand. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sit down with the creative genius behind fashion industry's biggest name.

J.Crew debuted in 1983 with the mailing of its first catalog. Six years later, the brand opened a flagship store at New York's South Street Seaport. Today, the business includes retail and outlet stores nationwide and an ever-growing online and catalog business.

J.Crew offers the highest quality men’s and women’s clothing as well as children’s clothing including cashmere, sweaters, women’s dresses and shoes, men’s shirts and ties, accessories and much more.

Ms. Lyons joined J.Crew as an assistant in 1990 and became Creative Director in 2007. Recently profiled by the New York Times as "the Woman Who Dresses America," Ms. Lyons has played a key role in the brand's overwhelming success throughout the years. Ms. Lyons was recently named by Glamour as their "Woman of the Year," and serves as a judge for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund.
This experience is not going for cheap. The current bid (as of time of post) is $1,850. Considering there are still 5 days left before it ends, I can safely assume the auction will be sold for {a lot} more. According to the page, the estimated value is $10,000. Dayum! I hope the winner takes lots of pictures and posts them somewhere for us JCAs to view!

Equally as interesting as the actual experience of lunch with Jenna, are the legal notes that are associated with this event:
Please note: tour will not be conducted by Jenna Lyons. Meeting cannot exceed 1 hour. Cannot be resold or re-auctioned. Cannot be transferred. Expires 1 year from the close of auction. To be scheduled at a mutually agreed upon date. Travel and accommodations are not included. Every effort will be made to schedule this experience at the earliest possible date convenient to both parties, but please note it may take up to 1 year to schedule based on availability.
If the tour (and most likely the photo-shoot) will be Jenna-less, who would be the point-person accompanying the winner? Wouldn't it be awesome if it was Mr. Mickey Drexler himself! ;)

I also found it pretty funny that they make it very clear that the winner gets 1 hour, max. I picture her staff members looming in the background of the restaurant with a stop-watch. Don't even think about going over a minute or two! ;) But in all seriousness, I get it. I am sure Jenna Lyons' schedule is jam-packed with work, social events, and family. Every minute counts for her.

What are your thoughts on this upcoming auction? If you had the "spare cash" to spend, would you bid on this auction? How much do you think it will sell for at the end of the auction?

J.Crew Factory: Save 20% Off Your Purchase {in stores}

J.Crew is offering Factory Store shoppers a special treat. Customers can take 20% off any purchase of $100+. This offer is good through February 26, 2013.

Just click on the image above or HERE (which will take you to a larger version of the image) and print it out (so the associate can access the barcode).

This is a fantastic offer, especially with the lower minimum and all those in-store promotions. {Wahoo!}

Happy Factory Store Shopping!!! :)

JGIC Product Review: My Housekeeper Broke Up With Me

A big "thanks!" to J.Crew Guy In Canada who is graciously reviewing Men's items from J.Crew with us. In this review, he looks at several J.Crew items for men:
Cue Taylor Swift ..... "We are never ever getting back together" ..... mood set?  Okay here it is.

For the past year and a half I've had a housekeeper/cleaning lady.  Every two weeks she'd clean the house from top to bottom.  All for the reasonable price of $100.  Then she suddenly stopped showing up.  I sent a text and no response; does this mean it's over?  And if so back my spouse and I go to cleaning the house Sunday mornings after watching CBS Sunday Morning and having coffee together.  Imagine the fun of bonding over cleaning products, micro cleaning cloths and a job well done.

So she ditched us; then I started to do the math and thought hey now, look what I can buy!  That small $100 every two weeks was $200/month and better yet, $2400 a year, after taxes.  Which is well north of $3000 before deductions.  Nothing to sneeze at.  The options were endless; trips, new TVs, reno for a room in the house, but as this is a J.Crew blog here's what I'd like to do.

Ludlow suit in Prince of Wales check in Italian flannel.  This suit is killer, a patterned fabric in ever so soft wool.  Not too loud a look, more classic that makes a guy stand out against the sea of navy and solid grey suits.  The jacket #22259 and pants #22274 come to about $800 Canadian, something I'd have a had hard time justifying before the split, but now that she's left me why not?  A Thomas Mason shirt in a solid blue, say the #31736 in peri, in the Ludlow cut would look great against the grey suit.  The tie needs to give the look a little punch, otherwise it may be a little too tame.  So I think the silk tie #36982 in azalea; basically a solid navy tie with a bright fuchsia stripe would look great.  I'm close to $1000 Canadian now without the nasty taxes and I still need shoes.

Time to economize and skip buying a new belt, I bought two this fall both the stitched edge belt #16137, one in black the other in dark caramel.  But since I'm flush with cash I want some 'nice' shoes.  The Alred Sargent Balmoral cap toes #46794 look good, but they are only in black and I wear brown shoes over 80% of the time.  They're nice but if I'm spending $600 I want what I want, Aldens.  Incredibly beautiful shoes, made in the US, and sadly no shipping to Canada, but since I'm dreaming I'll get these in either cordovan bluchers #20767 for $661 American or the cordovan chukkas for $650.

Now I still have some cash and need to finish this look off with the wire stripe tie clip for $88 and a pocket square for $45 in white and pen stripe #61576.  Damn I look good!

The reality is the money will go elsewhere, car rental in Maui and a helicopter tour of the island and some other incidentals next month, but it's fun to dream right?  But now I have to go scrub the kitchen floor.
Another fantastic review! "Thanks!" again to J.Crew Guy In Canada for his great post on what he plans to do with his "extra spending cash".

If you had extra money to spend on J.Crew, which pieces would you get? Are there any pieces that you saved up for? If so, please share with us your review. :)

J.Crew "Very Personal Shopper" App {available in select stores}

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Shopaholic (in this post), Phoebe, as well as Desert Flower, who shared the latest video/ news from J.Crew. The following article comes from Refinery29 (click here to read in its entirety):
This Is Personal: J.Crew Debuts An In-Store Styling App
By Lexi Nisita
February 14, 2013

The thing about J.Crew is...well, it's just great. Wearable basics meet fashion-forward statement pieces? What's not to love! There's just one catch. The catalogues are so immaculately styled, every bit so perfectly placed, that it's easy to wander off into dreamland — and then find yourself in the store wearing a totally hideous combination, wondering where you went wrong.

Well, those days are over. The beloved retail chain, and creative brainchild of Jenna Lyons, has just launched an in-store styling app called Very Personal Stylist. It's an extension of the brand's already well-known Personal Stylist program, but free of charge and available on handy, in-store iPhones at the Columbus Circle (NYC) and Santa Monica (CA) locations, with more to come throughout 2013. Designed by Gin Lane Media, in collaboration with Partners & Spade, the app is a carefully-designed, ultra HD adventure through 12 style stories — six for men, six for women, complete with plenty of tips and tricks along the way.

Get a taste of the new feature in the video above. It's fun, but there is one side effect: We're pretty sure there's a 100% guarantee that you'll stop in at your nearest J.Crew in the next few days.
Like the article mentions, this is an extension of the very personal shopper stylist (VPS) service but not a replacement for it. It almost appears to be more of a "real-life" catalog, with the ability to schedule an appointment with a VPS, than a VPS app.

Even though I am not inclined to use it, that app looks pretty darn cool. I am curious how well the app is doing in the select locations...

While I am discussing features, it would be really awesome if J.Crew included the measurements of the garments on their website. (Or make that feature its own downloadable app!) Especially since they already have that information. Just a thought that I know most of us have been asking for... :)

What are your thoughts on the VPS app? Have you seen, or used it, at the NYC or CA store? What type of app should J.Crew make next?

J.Crew Final Sale {a quick thought}

I am not sure if J.Crew had a nice update to their Final Sale section online (click here) this morning. Why? Because I slept in. ;)

The past few promotions I have been waking up early to check the sale section for some pop-backs. Even though I purchased less than a handful of items, the additional percent off and the multiple {large} updates was tempting enough to check daily.

Knowing that the STYLE40 promo ended last night, I gladly ignored J.Crew's website in the wee hours of the morning. Plus, I am actually relieved there is no additional promotion for the sale section. (Is that weird?)

Did you check out the Final Sale section today? Did you sleep in? If so, please share! :)

This offer is available both online and in their specialty Wedding store locations. If you are considering J.Crew for your wedding, this might be the time to buy. Especially if you already have tried on some of the items in person at a store before buying.

The Great (Weekly) Exchange {looking to sell}

The Great (Weekly) Exchange {looking to find}

This post (of weekly posts) is for individual members who are looking for and interested in buying certain items. Please feel free to share a J.Crew store location and/or your outside listing/ auction site if it matches the requests made in this post.

Also note that any transactions are independent of this blog. (Especially since you will be using an outside listing/ auction site like eBay or eCrater.) I have no dealings or interactions with any of the potential communication, listings, or transactions. :) Moreover, please limit comments about items to swap/sell/share/finding to the "Great (Weekly) Exchange" posts. UPGRADE: 40% Off Final Sale at J.Crew {& free shipping!}

"Thanks!" to many of you, including rachel (in this post), as well as judy {coffeeshopandfunnyfaces} (in this post), who shared the following promotion from J.Crew this morning.

J.Crew has bumped up their offer for customers to take an additional 30% to 40% off all sale items (no min) with promo code STYLE40. Plus, they threw in free shipping on every order (no min). Wahoo! This offer expires tomorrow, Monday, February 18, 2013. The fine print includes:
*Offer valid on the purchase of sale items at jcrew.com from February 17, 2013, 12:01am ET through February 18, 2013, 11:59pm ET. Offer not valid in J.Crew stores, J.Crew Factory stores, at jcrewfactory.com or on phone orders. Offer does not apply to previous purchases or to the purchase of gift cards and cannot be redeemed for cash or combined with any other promotion. To redeem online, enter code STYLE40 in the promo code box at checkout. Orders will be shipped via regular ground shipping (3 to 6 business days) and return requests must be made in accordance with our return policy. Offer valid in the U.S. and Canada only. Limit one promo code per order. Terms of offer are subject to change.
Fabulous! I love this offer- it really is a great deal. (Honestly, what a surprise! I was not expecting J.Crew to upgrade this promotion while it was still running.)

J.Crew had a tiny update to their Final Sale section online (click here) this morning. Lots of merchandise for everyone (660+ for Women and 200+ for Men).

As many of you have mentioned, brick and mortar (B&M) stores are offering an additional 30% off sale in stores. Not sure if they will be increasing the percent off to 40% today too. If you are stopping by a store later today, please let us know!

While on the topic of J.Crew stores... I notice my local store has some new items on sale like the Wool-Silk Map Scarf (item 96115; $59.50) for $39.99. (This scarf is gorgeous in person!) So it might be worth it for JCAs to visit their local store to see what is new-to-sale.

Will you be checking out the Final Sale section? Are there any items you are hoping to see or to get?
