Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SPRING sale, or to see some new SPRING/SUMMER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. I haven't, but I have some factory reviews from last week's visit on my blog.

  2. Bought and love the Spindrift Sweatshirt in navy and emerald. Already wore both! Very comfortable and fit TTS.

  3. Sought and found the No.2 Pencil skirt in Ultra Eyelet in the Chili color. I braved a trip to my B&M specifically to witness this beauty in person.
As stated on several blogs, it is a true red (yay!) and a gorgeous, rich red at that. It is remarkably easy to incorporate it into my clothing arsenal. I simply cannot state how much I love this skirt.
It runs TTS (took my regular size in J. Crew skirts). Online, the regular size is stated as being 22" long, however my regular size 0 is 21" but I don't mind.
My one quip: it is listed as $128 online but I got it for $118 in the store. If I weren't so intent on having it in my closet now, I could've paid $10 more...

    1. Hi, wonderful women! I keep posting, but I must be doing something wrong - I as well visited my local B&M (had to look it up...) clearance store last weekend, and scored on the purple Jardin skirt - it's too gorgeous. Navy Minnie-like pants in the PJ section, got them anyway. A knit top, navy with pink/white stripes - zippers at the sleeves! Someone who doesn't know passed up on a pair of Rainy Day black flats for 20 U.S. Navy striped tee, very cute, and the navy pencil skirt. (hmmm, just noticed a color fascination. Instead of my usual blacks and greys, navy? Good for me.) Let me know, PLEASE, what to wear with the Jardin skirt. On the Web site, they show the other color with a gorgeous lighter sweater - if only!

  4. I emailed CS about those apple printed shorts that ajc(?) posted in a preview blog entry. They're called "Mini Delicious Apple Short" (item #74570). They're priced at $54.40 and are expected to be available online 3/16/12. I also asked what the inseam was but they failed to answer that question. I'm guessing that they are either 3 or 4" inseam just from looking at the pic. I usually buy one or two new pairs of shorts each season, so I think these might be my summer splurge.

  5. I tried on the chili eyelet skirt and was disappointed. The lining is sewed down at the hem, which is nice that it can't ride up, but causes the lining to shift away from the eyelet causing shadows. Let's just say my shadow was in an awkward place. :( It's a beautiful skirt, but not for me. I also tried on the polka dot skirt that ajc posted about and it's adorable. Somewhere between a pencil and the belle skirts of years ago. It has pockets, too! I can wear it now with tights and a sweater and then later of course with a tee or tank. I LOVE the raindrop lace top (size down) in pink. I'm hoping this one makes it to markdown. I tried on the sequin stripe tank in yellow and it was too sheer. I really don't want to wear a cami under my tank in the hot weather here.

  7. I picked up the green Talitha blouse and the navy and bright blue striped maxi skirt (I think this is in store only) over the weekend. Review of the top is on my blog http://shopmycloset-amy.blogspot.com/. :)

  8. I bought a pair of khaki chino shorts with blue anchors on them. I'm not sure if I'll keep them. Has anyone seen these in the store? What did you think of them? I don't think they are on the web site.

  10. My rare in-store shopping happened this weekend. They had no sale section. Is this new? Some sale items were integrated with the rest of the full price clothing on racks. Bummed as I wanted to see if any shoes were marked down.

Impressions: wow, are those colors bright. Not really my thing.

I ended up buying the matchstick jeans in skinny leg in selvedge denim. Nice! They only come in 32" so they look perfect rolled at the ankles.

  11. How in the world are the high-waisted silk pants in bright sun already sold out in my size? They've been out less than a week and I haven't heard any buzz around them. I loved the catalog photo where the pants were paired with the neon green tippy. Bummer!

  12. No B&M but I did have a couple of packages delivered at the end of the week and another one today. Although my Talitha blouse was 100% silk and not rayon, I have huge concerns regarding the quality and it is going back. Will post a detailed review tomorrow along with a few linen tees and and sweaters.

  13. I posted this in the "Looking to Sell" post but thought I'd stick it here too... I picked up the No. 2 pencil skirt in basket-weave tweed in blue in size 6 (item 63598) on Saturday. They were already marked down in my Nashville store. I'm not going to keep it so I thought I'd offer it up here first before returning it. $80 plus $5 or so shipping, paypal only. 16. This is a little late but I can find no better place to put this.

Thank you for those ladies that chimed in on Denver Jcrew shopping this last weekend. I used your advice and enjoyed my shopping trips! JCA's are the best!
