Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the FALL sale, or to see some new FALL/WINTER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. 25% off and free shipping on any order (no minimum) with code HOLIDAY. These promos are getting out of hand!

  3. I understand they want to get their numbers up before the year is done, but in the long-run all of these promotions will diminish the full-price buyer market. You want the brand to be valued at full price and not jsut perceived as a great sale location.

  4. I just noticed the Talisman clutch in the sale section. I've seen it IRL, and while it's definitely an occasion piece, if you have occasions, it's gorgeous. Especially with today's promo.

  5. No kidding, Gigi. The sweater offerings this year are dismal. Nothing on my Christmas list for the first time! Cheap synthetics that will pill after an hour? No thanks.

  6. I agree with the cheap sweater comments, and it's not just J.Crew. I also notice a disappointing number of synthetic blend sweaters at Banana Republic and Lands' End this year.

  7. sudden realization that I have not purchased a single sweater from any retailer this winter. *MIND BLOWN*

  8. Jeanne, you are so right. I usually love the merino sweaters at BR and I have a couple, but this year they have a lot of nylon in them. I wonder what's going on. And I wonder if it's just a U.S. company thing because the sweater I got from Boden is lovely.

  9. No store visit for me this weekend but I have an embarrassing amount of returns (pricing games) so I will be there this week :)

  10. I stopped by the SLC Gateway store yesterday... some decent promos on full-price items but I spent most of my time combing through the sale section (the 30% off FS was still going on yesterday).

Ended up taking a green Jackie home for like $25 between the sale price, FS discount, and student discount, so that was kind of awesome, but the rest of the sale section was sort of sad. I saw some tanks that were only marked down to like $24.99 and a plethora of T-shirts. Meh.

  11. Lauren PhD, I was thinking the same thing when I got dressed this morning. I'm wearing a BR teal green merino sweater from 2008. The quality is very nice and it still looks new. The 2009 merino sweaters were nice, too, but the quality realy fell in 2010. I bought two in 2010 and threw them away at the end of the winter because they looked so bad, and I only wore them a few times. This year the BR merino sweaters are all wool/nylon and acrylic/wool/nylon blends. I wouldn't take them if they were free. :(

  12. Did anyone see the Lady Lace Popover sweater in a sz. L at their b&m this weekend? If so, could you tell me where? Thanks so much!
