Happy Holidays! {celebrating w/J.Crew?}

First and foremost... Happy Holidays everyone! It's the time of year where we can spend time with our loved ones, enjoy fantastic meals, and share thoughtful gifts!

Per JCA tradition, this post is to find out what everyone is going to wear. I find it really interesting to see what other Aficionadas and Aficionados plan on wearing (and of course it gives me lots of wonderful ideas for future outfits). :) So for this post, what we are planning to wear for the Holidays? :)

As for me, I am still trying to figure out what to wear for Saturday and Sunday. I plan on reading these comments carefully so I can borrow some of your great outfits! :)

What are you planning to wear this Holiday party season? Are you planning to go "head to toe" J.Crew or parts J.Crew?

  1. I've had this planned for awhile because I tend to nerd out over planning holiday outfits. I'll be decked out in my Fair Isle sweater in acorn with the henna boy shirt in stripe crepe de chine underneath and my Kate Spade Bourgeois Bow earrings that I tracked down on eBay. I may even be adding the Biella patent loafers in getaway green, if Santa was nice enough to bring those to me. :)

  2. I, too,am a big ol' nerd when it comes to holiday dressing. I basically have to restrain myself from dressing like a tree ornament for the month of December.

I plan on wearing my black drapey sequin tank over my tartan perfect shirt with jeans and my gliteratti peep toe heels. I may also add my feathered crystal necklace (if I'm feeling festive enough Sunday morning as I brace myself for time with the in-laws). I've already worn this outfit a couple times but it's pretty comfortable but feels fancy at the same time.

Happy holidays to all the JCAs!!

  3. Welcome Christmas Eve is low-key in our house, so I think I will be in something cozy... but Christmas Day I am planning to wear my new warm jade cafe capris with the heather beet cashmere sweater and my wild beet lula flats. On boxing day I think I will go in the direction of Patsystone and wear my jeans with my indigo floral shirt and a navy sparkle tank over that. But I may yet change my mind!

  4. I wore my Lands' End Canvas Cashmere Sweater in 'Rich Red' with a plaid 'Vintage J.Crew' skirt to do some last minute Christmas shopping last nite, but still haven't yet decided what I'll wear this weekend. I did wear my J.Crew Floral Long Swing skirt to a Christmas Party last week though. Polyvore and pics in this post.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all the JCAs!!! :)

  5. Christmas is almost here.... My on-line purchases have been sitting at Customs waiting to be cleared. According to the UPS tracking site its been going on four days today... I have nothing to wear. I guess this is time to dig deep in the closet and come up with something. Good thing I have nice pj's. Merry Xmas all. Carolyn from Vancouver

  6. I am officially out of bottoms that fit (LOL) so I'll be wearing black ON maternity yoga pants, the JC perfect-fit ribbon henley in maraschino cherry, lodge moccasins, and the men's plaid white/green/red cashmere scarf from earlier in the season.

Love hearing what all the JCA's are wearing - have a wonderful holiday!

  7. I'm going to a fancy holiday party tonight and am wearing a red JCrew dress I bought ages ago. It still has its tags on!
Tomorrow my best gf is having an open house. I'll probably wear something comfy - charcoal knot pants, black top & gold glitterati flats.
Christmas will be at home, so back in knots after the pj's!

  8. I just tried on several choices last night, b/c we are packing to visit family! I am wearing the Cafe Capri in jewel jacquard, black cashmere long sleeve tee, blue suede heels, and cobalt plaza coat! Christmas Eve will be black wool minnies, black cashmere Kate Spade embellished bow sweater and hacking jacket in heathered berry - still working on shoes for this one!
    Merry Christmas Alexis and everyone!

  9. Can't fit into any of my J. Crew clothes or really anything cute for that matter since I am almost 9 months pregnant. Maybe I should just put on a big red suit and pose as Santa Claus!

  10. For Christmas Eve I am wearing Skinny jeans with cognac knee boots, the bronze drapey sequin tee, and red crystal button sweater. For that evening Christmas Eve mass and dinner, I am keeping the tops and changing to Winter White Pants and heels
    Merry Christmas!

  11. I've set aside two options, both monochrome: 1) the Cafe Capri in Wine with a matching Talbots cardigan; 2) the Cafe Capri in red with a matching Jackie cardigan. I might look silly either way, but I like being all-in-one color. I've got the Viv flats in red on my feet. I hope you have a wonderful holiday time, Alexis!

  12. Depending on how I feel tomorrow night I will be wearing the viridian green pencil skirt with a black top or the tartan shirt with black toothpicks and a black sequins tank worn as a vest. On Xmas Day I might just wear my pj all day!
    Merry Xmas everyone!

  13. I'll be in my pjs on Christmas day unless we go out for Chinese food, but for our Hanukkah party on Monday I'll be wearing a cobalt blue Gap cardi, silver hammered silk blouse, matchsticks and sliver Nine West flats.

Have a great holiday weekend everyone!

  14. Not sure, but I just have to say I love the photo on this post! Someday I will copy that wreath.

  15. I will make my Scottish grandparents proud by wearing my tartan boy shirt with black velvet pants and sparkly jewelry on Christmas day, and the blackwatch factory pants with a cream LE cashmere tee on Christmas eve.

Love the classic plaids -- perfect for the holidays.

Hope every here has a Merry Everything -- thanks for all the shopping help in 2011!

  16. I hope I can squeeze in my suitcase the black Floating Sequins Tank and the black Ruby Blazer I have from last year.

Happy holidays to all the JCAs, and thank you, Alexis, for having this wonderful blog!

  17. Christmas Eve is pretty low key for us so I will probably wear my glitter flats with my toothpick jeans and jcrew white lace t-shirt loaded up with various jcrew sparkle braclets! For Christmas Day I will probably wear my red jcrew cashmere henley and black minnies and black platform boots. Merry Christmas to all!!!

  18. Christmas Eve I am going to my girlfrend's parents' for the traditional Italian seafood feast. I am going to wear a sweater dress from JC Factory in camel over some hunter green lace tights I got at Forever 21 and a great pair of black boots (dress is cinched with a black belt that has gold birds for a clasp).

Christmas Day we will be home with the puppies and I plan on wearing my striped JCrew union suit all the live long day. Happy holidays, everyone!

  20. Well, my husband surprised me today. Instead of going to our in-laws for Christmas dinner, which was the original plan, we are going skiing at Kicking Horse resort, staying in BIL's chalet right on the hill. I'm so excited, it will be fun and just us, BIL, his wife and 14 month-old daughter. Christmas dinner will be at a restaurant so I'll dress up a bit for that but the rest of the time I'll be in Spyder ski wear and hopefully some cute ski-bunny outfits LOL. I have about an hour to throw things into a suitcase right after work and then we head out. I'll be checking the comments here for outfit ideas during the day.

Merry Christmas Alexis and all the wonderful JCAs!

  22. Eve - will still be finishing up "elf stuff" - so baggy old jeans and hole-y tees.

Day - will be cooking and serving, so probably more of the same. I always hope for the opportunity to change into something more eleGant, but so far, by the time i sit down to dinnner, it always looks like the family is being really really broadminded.

On the other hand, best GF suggested wearing something really festive every day of the run-up and the 12 days of. This is giving my embarrassingly large collection of velvet (4 pants, 2 vests, a suit, 3 tops and a sub-collection of jackets that makes me blush) a work-out.

    Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, all!

Hmm, word verif is MIRCLE. Truly.

  23. xoxo,
Congrats on your trip. I hope you have a wonderful time!

As far as dressing goes I plan on being very casual in J.Crew jeans and an "ugly" holiday sweater for a party tonight:)

On Christmas Eve will wear jeans and my Bella.

Christmas Day will be a jammy day at home:)

    Happy Holidays Everyone!

  24. I'm travelling home this evening in this grey/camel striped sweater I got on sale a few months ago (I forge the name) and dark fatigue green high-waist cords. There's a box of J. Crew sale items awaiting me at my parents house that I ordered during 30% off last week, too - black dream half-zip, another pair of high-waist cords (bohemian red) and a black tissue turtleneck. I plan on putting all three to use this week.

BTW this is my first comment on JCA. Long time reader, first time poster. Happy holidays!

  25. Christmas Eve calls for the stripped leggings in navy. I am really hoping my bf took the hint to get my the pink and red stripped ones for me for Christmas. Christmas Day who knows, but I should really start thinking about it :)

  26. @ J.CrewJD: That wreath! I have been obsessed with it for AGES. One of these years I'll sit down with a wire wreath frame, some floral tape, and rainbow bulb lights and make it happen!

Low-key Christmas this year...will probably wear my Red JBrand skinnies with black Factory Snowflake tee, black cotton Military Blazer and black ballet flats for Christmas Eve, and will change into my Saturday pants and a popover hoodie for Christmas Day.

Happy, happy holidays to Alexis and all of the JCAs!!!

  28. I'm not sure yet...I had Thanksgiving all planned out but Christmas has kind of snuck up on me. I did just receive the silk habotai camisole in sandalwood, so I am sure I will be pairing it with a cashmere hoodie, jeans and heels at least once during the holidays. Thinking of wearing either the JC silk dress I got earlier this fall or the JC taffeta mini skirt I got last winter on sale, with a blazer and some wedges. Happy Holidays!

  30. Totally off-topic and I apologize, but I was looking at vintage coats on Etsy and I saw one that I think is so spectacular and seller says it's in like-new condition. Too small for me or I'd nab it! I have no connection at all to this seller. It seems perfect for a J.Crew lover who also appreciates some good vintage.

(Apologies to the fur-haters, I think the fur trim is real fur.)

  31. My husband's family celebrates Christmas Eve not Christmas Day, so tomorrow I have to get dressed up. I'll probably wear my Winsome dress and a cropped cashmere cardigan. On Christmas Day, I'll be at home with my family, and I'll be wearing my JC black/white gingham shirt and Flair skirt in black with tartan silk belt (outfit posted here.

Merry Christmas and happy Holidays, Alexis, and to all the JCAs!!

  32. Well 12:30 am the day of Christmas eve, I just finished wrapping presents and now on to thinking about outfits! Now I am too excited to go to sleep! I am thinking about the mixed media skirt for church on Christmas eve and dinner. And then the saturday pants on Christmas day. Need to figure out tops for both!

  33. Have a wonderful Christmas Alexis and thank you for creating JCA for all of us!

  34. I'll be wearing something washable since I don't want to have to visit the cleaners after cooking Christmas dinner. Have a safe and happy holiday season everyone!

  35. I love reading what everyone will be wearing! So chic!

For Christmas Eve service (and a great family dinner) I will wear the wool cafe capris in Bright Dahlia (I'm a non-conformist to red and green!), white Haberdashery shirt, and black and white polka dot heels.

Day - will be the Perfect Shirt in tartan, gray wool pencil skirt, Madewell retro polka dot tights, and those AWESOME cobalt blue calf hair wedges from Ann Taylor. If you haven't seen those shoes, google them!

  37. I am hosting my dad's side today, and the my mom's side tomorrow, and then going to the in-laws tomorrow night. We tend to be pretty casual, but I like to add a little something festive to the mix.

My Xmas decor is gold, amber and copper, so yes, I will be dressing to match my holiday theme: drapey sequin tee in heirloom pink, which is a golden pinky-nude, metallic Marjorie flats in the same shade, and henna matchstick cords.

    Happy holidays, everyone!

  38. I'll be wearing old and new J.Crew (of course ;) through the holidays. Hope to have pictures on my blog next week of the outfits.

Merry Christmas Alexis and all other JCA's!

  39. I had a warm and woolly outfit planned with the cafe capri in wool plaid but learned it will be in the 70s! Not sure now. It will be JC for certain though ;). Merry Christmas and cozy times to all the JCAs!

  40. Merry Christmas, everyone!

  41. Everyone's outfits sound so chic! For Christmas Day brunch at home with mom, I'll probably wear my LEC Heritage cardigan (can't remember the name of the colour, but it's a dead ringer for JC's Flame) and giant necklace tee, with jeans.

Alexis, wishing you a very Merry Christmas, and thank you for running this blog all year long!

Happy Holidays to all the JCA's!
