Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SUMMER sale, or to see some new FALL arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. I don't plan on going this weekend, but look forward to hearing reports from all the JCAs that do go. :)

  2. Travelling, but did a lot of damage with my handheld while on the train. Expensive way to occupy the time change adjustment, even with the 25% promo.

  3. I'm not going this weekend either. I plan to go next weekend to try new items on. I've done enough damage lately. :)

  4. No,haven't bought any J.Crew in months. Will be waiting for the bigger and better Christmas promos and sales. Fun to read what others find though.

  5. I went yesterday. They were running the extra 30% off final sale. I picked up the purple floral Maisie dress for $41 after discount. The usual suspects populated the sale section and it didn't look like they had been further marked down. They had a few herringbone ponchos for $99 (before discount) but none in my size (xs) or I would've took it home.

For what I need (suiting, tees & sweaters) I'm better off purchasing online with the current promo.

They are running a credit card promo for 20% discount when you are approved. The SA said it's only for a limited time. Right now, I think 25% online is a better deal.

  6. Where is the Factory section? Isn't it Friday? Did they move it to another site?

  8. May check out the Prince Street store this weekend to see what they have in terms of sale and new arrivals. Went to Madison/45th yesterday (well, everyday this week at lunchtime but who's judging) and the sale section is quite picked over at this point.

Did manage to score the two items I was seeking though - the Hutton tie trousers in henna and the Telegraph wool flannel skirt in heather elm. In the trousers, I believe they only had a 00 and a few 8s and 10s; I had tried on the 0 when they were FP and was happy to find that the 00 fit a bit better around the hips/thighs. My one huge qualm with these pants, and why I would never have paid FP, is that they're unlined. This makes no sense to me given that with the high waist and bow tie, you want to tuck in a top but you can see what you've tucked right through the fabric! So I haven't figured out how I'm going to wear these yet, but with the extra 30% and my student discount plus a gift card from a price adjustment on Wednesday, I treated myself to them anyway. They're just so cute and I can't wait to wear them around the holidays.

As for the Telegraph skirt, I reviewed this one in a different post. Bought a 0 and a 2 when it was FP; the 0 was uncomfortably snug and the 2 was too loose. Found a 2 in the sale section (and about 3 size 10s if anyone's looking) and figured that, for less than half what I paid the first time around, I'll spring for the tailoring. Been needing a basic brown skirt ever since I parted ways with my 2010 Super 120s pencil skirt in espresso which I loved but bought a size smaller (0P) than would've fit me comfortably, on final sale of course ;)

  9. Not a sale question...but has anyone seen the Minnie pants in vibrant flame in store. They look orange on the model but red inj the stock photo.

I want orange minnies! But am afraid they are red : (

  10. As if I haven't blathered on enough already, just wanted to add that the Finespun tops on sale right now run HUGE! Bought two of the tanks to wear as pjs and suffice it to say I woke up half naked this morning. And the puff sleeve tee which I was so excited to receive is so large the elastic at the cuffs doesn't even touch my arms. Sad because the maraschino cherry is such a gorgeous color.

  11. No plans... did enough damage last weekend and online yesterday already.

  12. Vistited the Michigan Ave store yesterday in Chicago they have a LOT of things on sale.

Maisie dress in abstract floral is around $80 (item 50357)

    Boy shirts for $44 (item

Flair skirt in plaid (item 49379)

Liquid silk skirt (item 46333) I believe for less than $118 which is what it is on the site.

    and lots more.

  13. Carol, the factory is back online now I got an email this morning.

  14. I've already placed three orders and I had not bought much from JC so far this fall. I think this is a very good promo. I found the Schoolboy in heather grey looks really good with the perfect stripe shirt in French Blue, so I bought a heather grey cashmere tee to wear with it too.

I'm set on Thomas Mason shirts now, I've never seen them on promo before and I'm happy to not see them in my cart anymore.

I am still debating the Biella patent flat loafers - I wish I could try them on first.

  15. Annapurna-

The minnies in flame are orange not red.

  16. If anyone goes to their B&M and sees the lady lace popover in gray or champagne, could you please let me know? I think it is cheaper in-store than online, but I haven't been able to locate a store that carries it to do a charge-send. Thanks so much!

  17. I plan on going to the Toronto store. I really wish they had a sale section but they don't seem to as yet. I would like to see the Talia top IRL but I don't think they carry it. Anyone have a review? Is it well made?

    ReplyDelete
  18. I might stop by the mall this weekend just to see if anyone returned the Yoga Cardi in Camel in my size. Other than that, I think I'm going to wait until the Christmas sales/discounts.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Dara,

Are the Hutton tie trousers on sale in store? If so, how much and is your store still doing 30% off sale? How do they fit? I like the look of them, but do think they would overwhelm my petite frame and I remember you saying that in another thread too. Do they fit TTS? Sounds like you were able to size down from a 0 to 00. Would appreciate any feedback you can give on this. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  20. dagmara: The Toronto store definitely had the Talia top in solid colours a few weeks ago, and they may have the paisley version now (I have no idea).

    ReplyDelete
  21. I will pop in to see what's been added to the sale section and what's been returned. Looking for the floral Maisie dress in a 4.

Any thoughts on when "holiday" arrivals might be in store?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Hi Jackie, I did find that the Hutton trousers ran a little bit large as I'm not typically a 00 even by JC's wacky standards. I could've taken my usual 0 but found that I had a little extra room in the hips and thighs, whereas the 00 fit pretty similarly but didn't puff out a bit in those areas like the 0. Because they're cinched high at the waist and hang so fluidly, I found that they did not appear to shorten my already petite frame as I expected they would - but I would only wear them with heels, both because they're meant to hang a little long and because with flats I think I would get that short and dumpy look I'm trying to avoid. As of yesterday, they were $99.99 less the 30%, so about $69.99. HTH! I would definitely recommend trying them on at the store if you can as I'm generally a skirts person so not extremely well versed in JC pants sizing.

  23. OT - Does anybody have a link to scans of the November catalog? Can't wait to get my hands on it! Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  24. dagmara, the Talia top is very pretty but just seems way too delicate/damage prone to me. The silk is really soft, very slightly sheer, very pretty. I am forcing myself not to buy it because I just know I'd ruin it with a stain, ripping it, deodorant marks, etc. I love silk but sometimes I have to draw the line on items like this which are just too damn delicate.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I just got an email from my PS about new collection arriving next Tuesday.
I will definitely go and report. But they are a concept store and usually receive everything at least two weeks ahead of other stores.

    ReplyDelete
  26. dagmara, I saw the Talia shirt in a b&M last week and while I loved the look of it I was surprised to see that some were already pilling. The silk did seem delicate and with the pilling I saw I don't think it's worth fp.

  27. Just found some shots of the Spring '12 shoes/accessories collection. Loving all of the classic shoes in pretty colors. It's about time they get back to that.

    ReplyDelete
  28. This is OT but did anyone get a gorgeous, oversize Boden catalog in the mail today? It is lovely, with many styling and fall-hued outfit photos. Very different from the tiny book-like catalogs I usually get ... and with a 20% off promo as well.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Ruffles,
Try the lake grove, ny location. They had a few Maisies yesterday and I'm sure there was at least one 4 in the bunch.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I think after my promo purchase yesterday, anything I purchase now will be either for holiday gifts or a few holiday items for myself (come December). I am patiently waiting for some embellished t's for the holiday...I have enough sweaters and skirts now and will probably return the one I purchased online yesterday...like I really need a skirt in Rust?

J.CrewJD: thanks for the link on Spring accessories...I am going to save up from now until February...the return of the pointy toe sling and flat (in to-die for colors) and the beautiful colored ballets (yeah) make me want them all now...I love the paisley scarfs and the statement necklaces are of JCrew years ago!!!! YEAH.

    ReplyDelete
  31. J.CrewJD, thank you so much for the preview. The shoes and accesories look great. I am so glad they are getting away from the 'foot contraptions' and going back to what they are good at, classic shape shoes in great colors. I am also happy that it looks like what I already have in my shoe collection will still be 'in' come spring.

  32. No, I don't think so. I managed to pull a muscle in my back last night & I can barely move today, waaahhhh!

I'm disappointed that I didn't get a chance to go back out to the warehouse sale in chapel hill to see if anything good was left ... sale ends Sunday for those in the area.

    Have a GREAT weekend!

  33. Though this is my first comment on this blog, I have followed all you guys religiously (shout out to Alexis of course, Dara, FFM, Closet Crisis, Dawn, JCrewJD and so many more!) love reading about all your JC obsessions and very happy to know that I am not the only crazy one! Ever since they opened the Toronto store I have been lusting after even more stuff (if that was possible!)
Happy to report that I have found a great PS there and even honored the 25 off in store stuff which saves me the hassle of ordering on-line in case I want to return it. Sadly though the selection in colour is slim but happy to be able to try it on so that when it does go on FS on line I can pounce!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Oh and a big shout out to Elaine too (how could I forget!) for the awesome pictures from the warehouse sale....looking at them made me exhausted but still wished I could have been there.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I'll be visiting. I have to decide if I'm keeping the Factory professor blazer, which has the piping like the tipped Hacking jacket. I want to try both at the same time. I agree w/Rose/1More Shopping Blog that the wool is cheaper on the Factory version, but that may be fine for my needs.

The latest links to final sale irl pics are in this post. Lots of in-store price differences and those are noted in bold black font. I.e. maisie dress in getaway green, $59.99, Biella high heels $59.99 and more per Audreybella/Life is Short Buy the Shoes & Dinster/Shopping On the Fly.

  36. Elaine...hope you feel better. Back pain is no joke.

  37. I've been wanting the boy shirt in Quincy tartan and was bummed that it was out of stock on line. I stopped by a metro Detroit location at lunch and was thrilled to find they had several, including small sizes.

Boy Shirt in Quincy Tartan: Originally $72. On Sale $45. (+30% sale items, +15% college student discount). Came out to $26.77 before tax!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Are the new arrivals (from the last roll out--last week?) in stores yet?

I need some basics and loving the vintage thermal henley.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Hima, you got a fabulous price on the Quincy tartan shirt. I'm wearing mine today and it is such great fabric, not the thin/see through stuff we've been seeing lately from J Crew.

Was at local B&M last night and the SA said they would have a rollout of new merchandise on Monday. Hope to go back next week to check out the new arrivals.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I love Quincy Tartan too! Great price! I paid $46 for it but I still felt good about it because I was afraid I'd miss out. It is one of those amazing pieces I think I'll love for years to come. It is probably my favorite single item of clothing right now.

My store told me they would have new roll out on the 25th, so I will probably pass this weekend. I have to go next week anyway and return whatever doesn't work out from the big 25% off order I placed.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Dawn, thank you, thank you! Lake Grove had the Maisie in my size and they did a charge-send for me. Yay!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Annapurna: the Minnies are vibrant flame, not orange. I've seen them IRL.

    ReplyDelete
  43. For those looking for the navy silk striped boyshirt item #47878, they are on final sale for $69.99 less 30% off at B&Ms. They're still full price at $110 online.

They didn't have my size, so my SA suggested using the red phone, where not only did they honor the store sale price, I also added to my order and with it being over $150, they applied the 25% off LOVEFALL promo. Bottom line is, I got 25% off the $69.99 store price on the silk boyshirt AND it was not final sale because I ordered online. Yeay!

    ReplyDelete
  44. JCAs, I am trying to find the Portia pant in size 4. It's a sale item so I can't do a "we will find it". If you see it in your J. Crew visit, PLEASE let me know by posting here or emailing me at mrsnonia@aol.com. I will be so appreciative!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. To update my earlier posts in case everyone thinks I'm crazy, just took my Telegraph skirt to the tailor and realized it is green, not brown, as I might've realized had I considered the color name is heather elm. Looks totally different in the light of my apartment! Now wondering if it will blend cutely with the Schoolboy blazer in forest...

    ReplyDelete
  46. Oh, and since I'm wildly optimistic, I will sub to this thread in case someone posts that they've found it :)

  47. So, my order just arrived (flair wool skirt in tan) is beautiful and will be an item in closet for years to come...the vintage henley in black/white stripe is probably my favorite JCREW item this season...it's thick and super great quality (right out of the bag)...love that it's the henley quality of 2006/2007.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Shariyu, I’m so glad to hear about the vintage henley! I hope the solid colors are as nice as the striped one you received. I can’t wait to get my hands on one! :)

  50. I just got my November catalog the other day and it's gorgeous! I wish I had a way to scan it for you. The best part is the return to blue-based colors. (Orange is beautiful, just not on me.) Thanks for the heads-up on the new collection. You bet I'll be there on Monday night.

Does anybody still have on of the cashmere sweaters in Jade from 2005/2006ish? My memory is that that color was a little bluer than Heather Jungle, but I'm not sure. Definitely debating between that an Pine Bough. :)

    ReplyDelete
  51. Connor - which B&M did you visit? I'd like to call and see if they have my size in the navy stripe boy shirt. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  52. @patmos, I went to the Buford, GA location. They had two size 0's, a 4 and I think an 8 as of 4 pm on Friday. Here's their ph: 770 932 3332

    Good luck!

  54. Has anyone tried the Emmett ankle boots? How are they? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  55. JcrewJD, thanks for your photos! It appears that jewel tones are a one-season phenomenon, so I'm going to make sure I get my fix this winter. :)

    ReplyDelete
  56. JCAs, this is a tad off-topic, but the Cafe capri in jewel jacquard (58447) is now restocked in all sizes!

    ReplyDelete
  57. not so much store related, but I was wondering if anyone has tried on and could review the Darby loafers Thank you !

    ReplyDelete
  58. mimi.magnolia, as well as the other kind JCAs who let me know the jacquard capris are finally on-line - THANK YOU! I will definitely be placing an order!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Hi All,

Am also waffling over cece ballet flats - is the vibrant flame in these more red or orange? I will soon be the proud recipient of those floral capris and now the jewel jacquard (a sad story since i had several personal shoppers tell me last week the jacquards were all gone... sigh... and so settled on the floral ones and of course they were final sale...I need a pair of ballet for these - any one have any great ideas of a colour that might go with the two of them besides the obvious black, which I have?

    ReplyDelete
  60. If anyone sees a Blythe silk shirtdress in Dark Navy size 6 could you please post here or let me know at ryanjanet@bell.net

    Thank you so much!

    ReplyDelete
  61. WWM - I haven't seen those in-person, but imo the vibrant flame color is a red-orange. Leaning more towards orange than red. You can see irl pics of the vibrant flame color in the Minnies on Notes From the Dressing Room. HTH a bit.

    ReplyDelete
  62. WMM, ask one of those helpful personal shoppers if they can put a note on your account to return the floral capris since you bought them on their advice that the others were sold out. My PS has helped me with a few difficult returns, it couldn't hurt to ask.

    ReplyDelete
  63. @Jan-
I saw the Blythe shirtdress in navy and size 6 today at the North Avenue Store in Chicago (312-951-0784). It was 99.99 plus the 30% off, and it was the only one.

    Hope you get it!

    ReplyDelete
  64. WMM and Annapurna-

The bright flame CeCe flats are almost a rust color-red, but not a bright red-but definitely not orange. The vibrant flame Minnies are orange as is the vibrant flame No.2. I have all three in my closet. Apparently, I have a thing for anything with the word "flame" in the name.

    ReplyDelete
  65. For those looking for a red flat, try the poppy classic leather ballet flats. I've seen these in person and they are a true red, although I haven't compared them to any of JC's other reds. Also, Jessica Simpson's Leve ballet flat come in a pretty, although darker, red. And I think the leve ballet flats are comfy (I have 2 pair). :) I did wear JC's classic ballet flats for about an hour while trying clothes on and they were comfy too. I am hoping to pick up the purple once they get marked down, if they ever do.

    ReplyDelete
  66. @JcrewJD, thanks for sharing the link! Love the classic shoes, no more foot fetish contraptions! I'm in love with the accessories! I missed out on the pre 2009 beauts, looks like JC's bringing the good stuff back!

    ReplyDelete
  67. I bought the Boardwalk-stripe tee and then used the 25% for the suede Mona pumps. Here are the real life pics: http://handbagaficionado.blogspot.com/2011/10/2012-jcrew-spring-handbags-fall.html

    ReplyDelete
  68. Does anyone know how large the Flared Perfect Coat run? Is it TTS? I usually size up in JC coats because of the wider shoulders. TIA

    ReplyDelete
  69. Thanks All! I did check with the PS and she compared them to jewel jaquard and the floral pants and said they would not be complementary at all, so I left them behind. And I did indeed ask if I could return the florals if I just could not justify two novelty cafe capris and she said absolutely, although she was sure I would keep them both as they are both beautiful, and she is likely right... sigh...

For anyone else who was obsessed about those jewel jacquards, they are enroute to me and the PS told me they are not true jacquard (i.e. raised texture) but rather a lovely soft material with stamped pattern meant to look like wool and in her opinion, this will make them very versatile. We will see!

    ReplyDelete
  70. Erin, I called but sadly they said they don't have the Blythe dress in that size. It must have sold. Thank you soo soo much for your help though, I appreciate it.

  71. I won't be able to go to the LV store unti Monday (tomorrow) and will report back if there is 30% off.

  72. Can someone provide input into Mona Pump sizing? I am about to purchase the Mona pumps in Red and perhaps Pale Peacock. I always, always, always wear a size 7 in non-JCrew pumps. When I ordered the Tortoise Shell peeptoes last year, I needed a 7.5 because the 7's were just a tad snug. I don't know if I should go for the 7's in the Mona or if I should size up to a 7.5. Could someone advise? I want to place the order by midnight so that I can take advantage of the 25% discount. Thanks, ladies!

    ReplyDelete
  73. @ dagmara

I reviewed the Talia Top on my blog here

    ReplyDelete
  74. Meggers, I tried the Mona pumps and they were quite snug on my feet, but I have an M width foot. Check also audreybella's blog. I believe she found them to fit TTS.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Has anyone tried on the new Viv Pumps? Are they running true to size or more narrow? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  76. I tried the Mona pumps in suede and in leather and they were very tight in my usual size, but my feet are kind of wide. They seemed to run narrow in the toe box, not short, just narrow. On the plus size they made by big feet look remarkably small! Also I tried the Mona Flannel Pumps in the same size and found them to be true to size. A half size up in the flannel ones were falling off my feet. I have not tried the Mona suede or leather in a half-size up yet.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Ok Meggers, so if you needed the 7.5 in the tortoise shells go with a 7.5 at least in the Mona's. JC shoes fit me 1/2 size small. If you have wide feet you might even need an 8 in the Mona's.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Dara, if you went to the Soho store this weekend could you report on the sale section? In particular I am looking for a Collection dress that is not online, navy with a ruffled collar and a pleated skirt (similar to the Sally wool crepe one but in a lightweight fabric). It should be on sale if it hasn't sold out, maybe you saw it (I can't call them because I don't have the style number)? Also looking for the merino pleated skirt in a xs (any color). TIA!

  80. After reading about the B&M prices I was able to locate the Flared Perfect Coat and the Lady Lace Popover sweater for an incredible price to start with, topped by a 30% discount!

    ReplyDelete
  81. Connor - I called the B&M you mentioned and they still had my size (8) in the navy stripe crepe de chine boy shirt. I was able to do a charge-send. I also scored the navy Blythe shirtdress for the sale price less an add'l 30% off!

Thanks so much for the heads up and their phone number!

    ReplyDelete
  82. Rose - The perfect flared coat is on sale in B&M stores? What is the sale price and do know of any stores that would have a 6?

    ReplyDelete
  83. Meggers, I was at the Toronto J. Crew a few days ago and had a chance to try on the Mona pumps. I personally found that they ran small. I had to size up half a size to size 8. I usually wear 7.5 in the ballet flats. HTH!

    ReplyDelete
  84. Jan-

Sorry to hear that. I was speaking with a Customer Service Rep. last week and she said if you find one in store in a different size and call from the red phone they will match the price with the discount, but you'd have to pay shipping. May be worth a shot if you know know a store with the navy in other sizes.

    ReplyDelete
  85. InboxImpulse, I found one at the NY 5th Avenue store for $249.99 minus 30%. I chose size 4, and hope I chose well. Give them a call tomorrow. Good luck!
