Happy Halloween! {are you celebrating with J.Crew?}

Happy Halloween everyone!!! In honor of Halloween, it might be fun to have a post on what we plan on wearing today. :)

I won't be wearing an actual costume, yet I am still dressing up for Halloween. (I gave some serious thought about dressing up as Jenna Lyons, with square black eyeglasses and all. But I scrapped it as I doubt any of the neighborhood kids would appreciate the outfit.)

As for me... My outfit centers around the Wool Oxford Jacket in Bright Flame from J.Crew, finished off with their Perfect-Fit Stripe Boatneck Tee and Matchstick Denim in a dark wash. Ultimately, I want to be comfortable while passing out candy to my little trick-or-treaters.

What are you planning to wear this Halloween? Are you planning to go "head to toe" J.Crew or parts J.Crew?

  1. Perfection!!! I love your choice. I may wear my orange hacking jacket to work and my sequin haya sweatshirt to pass out candy.

  4. I love your outfit Alexis! That jacket is so cute! Wasn't going to put on a costume but was thinking of wearing something orangey. Will decide in the morning as I'm getting dressed ;)

  8. Cute outfit Alexis! :) I will be taking my little boys out trick-or-treating but haven't decided what I'm going to wear yet. Odds are that I'll have on something from J.Crew though.

  11. I'll be wearing my pumpkin-colored Robert Noble jacket but everything else is non-J.Crew: gray cotton ribbed turtleneck (to pick up the gray in the blazer's windowpane check), black cords and black boots.

  12. LOVE your outfit, Alexis! I'm wearing my orange Marcella blouse, black knit military blazer, toothpick jeans, and the gray patent spectator peep toes from '08. All J.Crew... but that describes my outfits most other days too!

  13. No Crew for me, I am wearing my costume. I am Medusa. I have many snakes in my red dreadlocked wig and around my neck, and i'm wearing a toga. :P

  14. On a semi-related topic, just received my invitation to the NYC holiday party. First off, it's at the Fifth Avenue store this year instead of Madison Avenue Collection, presumably because the Fifth Avenue store was just renovated. Excited about this since the Fifth Avenue store is much closer to where I live and a bigger store means way more merchandise to choose from. Second, it seems Jenna won't be in attendance this year which I find strange (and frustrating because I left just before she arrived the last 3 years in a row!) Tom Mora and Frank Muytjens are hosting.

  15. No JCrew for me. Wearing a costume. Martha Stewart for Grandinroad's Spider Skirt and Spider wrap, teasing my blond hair and adding more spiders:)

  16. I'm wearing a black-and-white striped boatneck sweater I picked up at a J. Crew sample sale a few years ago with a black skirt, tights, and wedges... and a Pottery Barn kids headband with cat ears.

It's about as costume-y as I felt like being at work, since I take public transportation. :)

  17. I am dressed as Emma Pillsbury from Glee today and am wearing my J.Crew Jackie cardi in Honey Glaze with my Anthro Peppered and Striped skirt (along with the OCD tee, of course!) See pics here!

Would love to find one of those orange Fionas one day...anyone have a size 2 or 4 they'd like to part with? ;) Alexis your outfit sounds beautiful!

  18. Love the outfit Alexis - especially the coat! Celebrating Halloween in Spain this year :) wearing my Toothpick jeans, black Dixon suede boots, Crew cream/black embroidered tunic (can't remember the name!), and coral cotton forever cardigan.

    Happy Trick-or-Treating to all!

  20. I wore JC to a Halloween party on Saturday! Decided to dress up as a dark angel because of the fabulous black wings I found buried in my closet, and I paired them with my Stardust mini from last holiday season, a black Dulphine open cardigan, textured tights and a plain black tank. It was a very simple but very comfy outfit. Way too cold here on Saturday night though - I had to break out my "Level 3" outerwear (JC long puffer) which usually stays in the closet until December/January!

  21. Went to my daughter's ballet class in almost all J. Crew...bonbon coat from last year in the orange color, python print silk twill dress (figured snake print equals festive?), jack-o-lantern earrings (groan, lol), sweater tights, and some Frye kitten heels. The polyvore is here which also has a link to my blog with pics. http://www.polyvore.com/happy_halloween/set?id=38900521

Will likely wear J. Crew to go trick or treating, but still settling on the lower half (depending on the temps). :)

  22. **~Happy Halloween~** to all!

I wore the vintage slim cord in black with the pumpkin/orange merino turtleneck (Fall 2009) and the lula ballet flats (black) and the bubble necklace (black) and to top it off, literally...a headband with a small witch hat and black feathers!

  23. I wore an orange J.Crew sweater today. I'm not sure of the style name since I've had it since 2003, but it's been my go-to Halloween sweater for the last couple of years!!

  24. I am modeling my J Crew Halloween gear on my blog here.

All I can say is... Pencil Skirt? you are so versatile!

  25. Hi all! Not sure where to post this but since it's Halloween and there's something in the air, I will post it here. I have been trying to log on to the Web site to place an order since midnight last night but every time I try to edit my cart in any way it tells me the site is getting "routine maintenance." I called the personal shopper line as well as did a "chat" to ask what was up and neither personal shopper seemed to have any idea of these problems. I've tried on multiple computers in my home, restarted but I'm convinced it's the site. Anyone get through lately? I don't know who else to ask! :) Thanks.

  27. Happy Halloween! I wore the Lady Lace Popover in black with the Vibrant Flame Matchstick Cords and a pair of black Coach ballet pumps for work. Switched out the popover for a black cashmere turtleneck for candy-passing-outing. I don't necessarily follow the styling trends I see in the J. Crew catalog (although I admire them), but I find that I can put together outfits for almost every occasion just from using the interesting and iconic individual pieces that I purchase over the course of the year(s).

  28. Yey! I loved reading everyone's outfits!!! It is especially nice to hear about the older J.Crew pieces still being worn today- a testament to their classic style and great quality. :)
