Happy Fourth of July! {celebrating with J.Crew?}

Happy Fourth of July Weekend Everyone! I wish everyone a great Fourth of July and safe travels. :)

Since a lot of us will be attending various outdoor parties, firework events, and traveling to visit family and friends throughout the weekend- it would be fun to get ideas of what to wear during the weekend.
Unfortunately for me, I still have no clue what I will be wearing this weekend. ;) I am hoping that after reading your {fabulous} outfits, I will get inspired on finding something to wear. (It's amazing how many times a JCA mentions an item or an outfit, which inspires me to wear something similar- you all have such wonderful taste!) :)

What are you planning to wear this Fourth of July weekend? Are you planning to go "head to toe" J.Crew or parts J.Crew?

  1. My weekend's going to be very casual. I'm still not sure what I'll be wearing, but I do foresee lots of stripes (probably either of the pier-stripe sweatshirts) paired with something "modern red."

  2. I am wearing the candy plaid perfect shirt in bottled blue with jeans and red heels to the demolition derby with fireworks on Sunday.

Incidentally the shirt has all 3 colors - red, white, and blue. How convenient!

  3. Seventy five percent of my wardrobe is blue and white -- stripes, polka dots, gingham, so I will certainly be patriotic all weekend. I've always loved everything navy and white, especially nautical styles, and I've been struggling to resist all the recent JCrew and Canvas offerings. While doing laundry recently, I started to count the number of blue and white stripe shirts that I own, but I had to stop.

Hopefully I will be able to leave the house this weekend to catch some fireworks. I've been caring for a child with an awful stomach bug for the last 24 hours, and telling my other two: WASH YOUR HANDS!

We live a few miles from the beach and the weather has been absolutely gorgeous -- we can't wait to get out there.

  4. Last night I laid out several items of red, white and blue to tote along for the weekend. When we visit MIL, the highlight of the trip is an old-fashioned parade through her little 'burb of Philly, and we all get trussed up in our patriotic finest every year!

I always dress for the weather, so I'm not sure what I'll end up wearing. Kinda depends on how hot it is. I like to have options, so I always overpack. :)

My first option is white summerweight Bermudas and a lapis blue tee I got from Old Navy last week -- the Women's Ruffled Henley Tank Top, check it out -- it's a total ringer for a J Crew top from not too long ago. Along with that I'd wear my red ikat tie belt, either as a belt or around the band of my straw fedora-style hat (Gap men's hat :). The pale color of the hat keeps the heat off my head when it's 95 degrees out!

Other options include the white Bermudas with a bright Hydrangea suckered gingham button-down and a pair of navy Bermudas with the ON Henley Tank Top in white, with the red belt, etc.

    Happy holiday to all!

  5. We've been invited to go boating so I think I'll wear my Sailor Shorts and a Perfect Shirt w the sleeves rolled up - maybe Bluestone Plaid or Boy Shirt in Red Stripe. And my Pale Gold Sperry's, which for some reason I'm really loving lately.

  6. Might be the first 4th in years that doesn't require a parka (hope I didn't just jinx it) might even need my panama hat! Otherwise my tried and true vintage 501s (made in USA) and white shirt. Have a new madewell tapestry belt in blue and white that's really fun.

  7. Oh-and my Mr. Freedom sweatshirt will be perfect (and corny) for after dark!

  8. Our family is headed over to stay at the beach condo on the Gulf Coast, so if the weather cooperates (it's been rainy here all week) I will spend a lot of the weekend in a J.Crew swimsuit. My outfits that I plan for the rest of the time are here, here, and here. Have a great weekend JCAs! :)

  9. All-American, nostalgic, sentimental. Digging into "archives". Vintage 501s for me too, faded elderly once-navy military surplus tank, Nantucket red bucket hat. For after dark, watching the rockets' red glare, when it gets really chilly, I may add a family treasure: worn gray sweatshirt on the back of which the stencilled word VIGAH can still be distinguished, and to which we sadly append Ave atque vale.

  10. I'll be wearing a pair of navy shorts from J.Crew and a red and white striped polo from Lacoste along with a pair of Bensimmon sneakers with stars and stripes logo that I bought in France last year. Photo of the shoes at the end of today's post on my blog. So happy that this year we will be in the U.S. sharing the festivities with friends.

  12. I'm a redhead so I stick to blue and white and figure my hair does the rest.

For work today I wore a pleated denim skirt and a white ruffled blouse with a large red/white/blue floral pin. Planning on pulling that back out on Monday for a BBQ.

On Sunday I'll wear my blue/white seersucker bermudas with a white tee and a white Jackie.

Saturday is cleaning day so nothing special!

  13. Elaine you must be coming near my home turf! Willow Grove is my local store and our town has an old-timey parade every year. We are attending said parade and I will probably be wearing jeans shorts and a Phillies shirt plus a pair of navy canvas Supergas with no socks.

    Enjoy your holiday everyone!

  14. Happy Fourth of July (and Canada Day to Canadian JCAs)! Wearing the Weekend Dress in navy with white Converse. We're attending a BBQ with the kids and I'm sure I'll be doing a lot of running around with them. I love how I don't have to think about it too much -- my brain is fried from a tough week! :)

  15. I miss those old group photos in the catalog. I know that this kind of lifestyle spread has been used a lot by RL, Hilfiger, etc., but I prefer the smiling mixed-age groups in more natural settings to the photography used right now. Those old photos make me think "ooh, if I bought that I might actually go out on a boat!"

  16. Wore the maritime blazer, gray cropped 120 trousers, and madewell bridgewalk sandals in Thai chili.

Haven't fully decided what to wear tomorrow but will probably keep with navy nautical stripe theme with red and white added in. Love the nautical look! Happy 4th everyone!

  17. Love these holiday posts! Home Sweet Home for me this weekend. Wore the vintage cotton lace inset tee in ivory yesterday with the chambray stripe skirt in vintage linen. Medium coral on toes and flip flops.

Today I'm wearing the factory perfect shirt in suckered ginham in wild blackberry with a navy cotton gap skirt, brown wedge sandals.

For tomorrow probably more navy and white. Great photo above. Happy 4th all!
