J.Crew Email: Hold everything: the Marlow hobo & FREE SHIPPING

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Tammy (in this post) as well as Desert Flower, who let us know about the following offer.

J.Crew is offering free shipping on orders of $150+ with promo code HOTDAYS. This offer expires Wednesday, July 20, 2011.

Once again, I was expecting another type of promotion besides free shipping. But I will take what I can get! :)

Were you expecting a different promotion today? Will you be using the HOTDAYS free shipping offer? If so, please share! :)

  1. I figured it would be another free shipping offer. Blah. Who needs it when there is no new inventory?

  2. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Not good enough. Why would I buy when I can get most of it for 40% less in store? I'll wait it out. These cross-channel price diiscrepancies are REALLY irritating.

  3. I'm starting to feel like I'm in some kind of shopping recovery program. No longer obsessed. Grasp of addiction weakening. Don't see any must-haves. Pass stores without entering. Its almosyt effortless. Wondering how long it will last. Grateful for these days of tepid boredom, one at a time.

  4. My wallet sighs in relief ( as it nestles in nicely inside my adored henna Marlow hobo :)). More for my fall budget, hurray :)!!

  6. Unless one of my old fall/winter target items pop back (they're still showing up now and then, just not in my size), I'll pass on the free shipping promo.

Off topic, what's up with the Wyatt buckle high-heel sandals? Marked down to only $89.99, almost every size-color combo is still available. It's a nice looking shoe, it looks a bit odd in the product photos but on the models looks great. Does it suffer from the undersized ankle straps like the Emelline did?

  7. dog days of summer... even as a kid I remember waiting for the "back to school" clothes to arrive.

  8. Another off topic, sometimes when I do searches I come across items that aren't showing in either the regular or sale areas. Here are items that appeared from "skirt" and "cable" searches:

    Fireside plaid town mini
    Cambridge cable v-neck sweater
    Cambridge cable shawl-collar cardigan
    Ribbed scarf

Granted all of these items are for fall/winter, not spring/summer, but I would buy fall/winter items right now. :) I wonder if I placed an order for one of these items if it would actually show up.

  9. (The ribbed scarf showed up when I searched on "cashmere")

  10. I am still 'recovering' from the 30% off sale, so no, I will not bite.

We already have the FS with the $100+ orders, so this one is kind of useless anyway.

  11. OT, the gold floral swing skirt is now $99.99 avail in sizes 00-6, if anyone bought it at the $139.99 sale price before FS and wants to rebuy.

  14. tamara.chicago - I do searches like that for items that I am looking for that a just a bit older and when I order them they always ship (knock on wood) so if you want them I say go for it! Typically I will notice they are added to the sale section later in the day or the next morning.

  15. Yeah for new items! I'm ready for something new to rest my eyes on...

  17. It's amazing that J.Crew is offering such a lackluster promotion considering the volumes of sale inventory hanging around. Especially since people are starting to look toward fall clothes already.

The Marlow looks pretty cheap IMO. I spent some time on the weekend looking at my J.Crew bags and the older Borge Garveri ones in particular are exceptional quality for the price. The new ones just don't compare.

  18. Two questions:
    1. When do you think will be the next 30% off sale?
    2. And, does anyone know if the belts (hit at hips) run large or small?

    Thanks!

  19. Sara,

Thanks for sharing that link! I am in LOVE with the first wedding dress. So gorgeous!

  20. I'd be willing to bet money they put out another 30% off Final Sale on Thursday with the new rollout. That way we will be tempted to buy both new and sale at the same time, which I will most likely be sucked in and spend way to much.

  21. Thanks MegCrew, I appreciate the info! I feel kind of weird buying cold weather items in the middle of this horrible heat and humidity, but I'm already thinking about fall. :)
