J.Crew Email: THE PERFECT EXCUSE: NEW ARRIVALS, 40% OFF + FREE SHIPPING

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Elseejay, who shared the following news from J.Crew this morning.

J.Crew Factory (click here to shop online) is open for the weekend with new arrivals. But wait there's more! They are offering up to 40% off on select factory items. (Prices will be automatically marked down, no code required.)

As JCAs know... if you live near a Factory Store, check them out first. The B&M Factory Stores tend to have better promotions and sale prices.

What are your thoughts on J.Crew's Factory Summer offerings? Will you check them out?

Random Side Note: I was swept up yesterday with all the fans of Katherine & William's wedding spectacular. I was not expecting it, but the 8-year-old-Disney-princess-lover in me could not help but gush at how brilliant the lovely couple looked.

  1. I with you Alexis - TOTALLY swept up in the royal wedding. Aren't they the sweetest couple?

  3. Swept up indeed! What a luxury to simply watch the entire morning away- thank goodness for TiVo!

They are an amazing couple and what fun it will be to watch them recreate the crown for the future, not to mention express their inspiring style!

(thanks for the news on J. Crew Factory!)

  4. Crew Cricket: I know! It was a real treat to watch their wedding- especially since they both seam so down to earth.

Katherine wears clothes very well- can't wait to see her style moving forward. :)

  5. Even better than Kate and her beautiful classy dress: Kate's mother! Wow, what a beauty she is, and her dress and coat were fantastic! Such a pretty color, perfectly fitted, and so flattering on her. Her father is a looker too, and their son, wow. What a good looking family that is. William and Harry were both super-dashing in their military gear, though I prefer them wearing their polo gear. I swoon over horsemen. :)

  6. I LOVED the lace sleeves on her wedding dress. That is the kind of dress I would have had if I had not eloped. Thanks for the Crewlet update. :)

  7. After seeing your post this morning I decided to go check out the factory store since I haven't been in awhile. They have the candy striped dress and mini! The dress is gorgeous, $198 (or $188) and there's a dress promo for an additional 30% off. The only issue are the zippers--I tried on several dresses and all the zippers got stuck midway so I decided to pass on the dress and instead got the skirt version ($98 with an extra 30% off). They also honor the student/educator discount on top of these promotions. They also had the surf tweed charter skirt, and the same style skirt in a khaki linen with blue stripes. I got the pink tweed version of the couplet dress from online but it's in the clearance section of the outlet for an additional 40% off the lowest price (didn't see what the price was though). If anyone has any questions about what's at the outlet, let me know :)

Re: royal wedding, I agree with you Alexis, I was one of the few who didn't wake up to watch the royal wedding but when I saw photos afterwards, I ended up watching all the coverage. Kate's dresses were absolutely gorgeous and so classy.

  8. I woke up early to watch the royal wedding. They are such a good looking couple! And Katherine had such a huge smile on her face the whole day. The dress was beautiful, and her sister looked totally amazing. I was drooling over the tiara that Katherine wore. It was beautiful and shiny but not overly showy. It suited her perfectly.

  9. I happened to catch the wedding coverage just as Kate was coming out of the car to go into Westminster Abbey because I was up early on the J Crew web site waiting for an update! :) I just happened to shut off my TV when I was on E!, so when I turned it on there she was. It was pretty amazing. I'm watching TLC's rerun coverage for the second time right now, I think it's so cute that even Harry was beaming after seeing Kate come down the aisle. She's a stunner, that's for sure.

  10. I was one of the crazies who got up to watch the wedding, agree it was a fairy tale. I read something about Will & Kate that stuck with me ... that with everything going on in the world today, the disasters, the stress, the economic turmoil, thank heaven, a WEDDING! A symbol of love and hope for the future.

Re: Factory, I never seem to have much luck with Factory items, but good luck to others finding bargains and favorite items re-introduced!

  11. Watched the whole thing live and was so excited. It made my Friday esp. having lived in the UK for several years! Catherine and William make a beautiful and loving couple. I don't know why but the spelling of her name is with a C but the shortenend version with a K.

  12. Am I too optimistic to hope that when the Factory promo ends it will be replaced by a regular J Crew sale promo with a massive update? :) (Come on J Crew, make my day!)

What do you think Kate's days are going to be like? Relaxation or strict protocol? Surely she'll be spending lots of time shopping, in the sense of selecting clothes that have been brought to her, because as such a public figure now she'll need a new outfit for every event. I don't know that I would want that much pressure, I have to give her credit for taking on a role that comes along with so many expectations.

  13. Am I the only one that would willingly jump right into that life and role w/relish?!! LOL!! I wouldn't think twice!

I got totally swept up in it all. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it and think Wills and Kate are soooo cute together!

  14. I watched part of the wedding (because I am getting married myself next month), but in re-run, of course. Couple thoughts: They do seem like they're great together. But I don't get or like all the hype surrounding this event. I mean, the "royals" thing is just weird. These people aren't necessarily educated, don't really have jobs and honestly, until recently, inbreeding was kinda rampant. So...yeah. Anyway, the dress to me was kind of a letdown. I just don't like sleeves. Also, I heard she did her own make-up and to me, it looked severe. But she is a lovely girl and he seems like a decent guy. I hope it works out!
