Surprise! Log Into J.Crew for Free Shipping {yey!}

"Thanks!" to Fabulous Florida Mommy (in this post), as well as xoxo, Desert Flower, & Marietta, who let us know the latest promotion from J.Crew.

J.Crew is offering select customers free shipping when you log-into your J.Crew account. {Yey!} This offer will last through 9/19/10.

Also, "thanks!" to many of you, including Get Fresh, who let us know you got an email with a one-time free shipping code. The code is good for one purchase and expires 9/30/10.

No surprise for me, I was again not selected. :( However, "congrats!" to all those who have the offer! :)

Make sure you check both your email & J.Crew account today to see if you got selected to receive free shipping too! :)

  3. I got this last time and was THRILLED to pieces! Not for me this time however. I think you have to spend A LOT and I mean A LOT to get this...I had upped my spending when I got it before and and now back to not buying much of anything. There is NOTHING I would want even if I had been chosen this round...my shopping cart is empty!

  4. not for me. not feelin the love -- emails that everyone else posts about in the morning hit my inbox around 3 pm, catalogs arrive a week after I read about them, and now this. Honestly if it weren't for this blog, Alexis, I wouldn't know what's going on at JC at all. Merci encore (curtsies).

But -- spoiler alert? -- this may be news! The Project Runway victim dress is in the window of the Wedding Store, long and in white. Guess they weren't worried about wearing it again (we know JC does NOT do irony).

  5. Well, of course nothing for me, AGAIN! Ah well. Happy day for y'all who got it. :-)

  6. Nada again. i would like to know how they select who to give offers to.

  7. I'm sure this is more than likely just the first round, so those who don't get the free shipping this time may get it the next time.

  8. I just received the email and it says the free shipping is through 9.19.10.

  9. Yay, I got it! No minimum. Mine *seems* to be good until the end of the month. I hardly ever get special promos, especially not good ones. The last one I got - the great 'free gift box' promo of Winter 2010. I remember it fondly. (;

  10. I got the email, otherwise I wouldn't have known!

    ReplyDelete
  11. I got a free shipping one time use code to enter that is good through the month of Sept.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Hmm, I don't have it on my jcrew.com account but I did get an email this morning for free shipping on my next purchase. I guess they're trying out different offers.

  13. Did anyone else get their free ship code in an email (i.e. without having to log into the JC website?) That's how I received mine this morning...also my first freebee from JC. Nice!

    ReplyDelete
  14. This might be a silly question but where does it say free shipping when you login? Tia

    ReplyDelete
  15. I received an email from JC, Free Shipping for the entire month of September, when I log into my account, no coded needed.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I was mad because I didn't get the free shipping when I logged in but like Genny and Roxy I got a free shipping code through the email but it's one-time only and of course can't be combined with the 30% off promo. Better than nothing though and especially in case of popbacks.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Nothing when I log in, but add me to the list of those who got a one-time use code for free ship via e-mail. No min and good until September 30.
This is also my first freebie :)

    ReplyDelete
  18. I received the free ship code this morning in an email...first time for me!

    ReplyDelete
  19. I also got the one-time free ship email good through 9/30... this is the only the second time I've received a JC incentive!! I have no idea how I got this- I haven't been spending much $$ and I only shop on sale... so there doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to how they pick who recieves what

    ReplyDelete
  20. I received an email as well. I will find something to buy but not a pop back item.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Got the free ship email, my first. Finally figured it out! Haven't purchased anything in several months and they're trying to tempt me to shop again. The less I shop, the more love I get from JC, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  22. ^ I think you might be on to something Regina. I have curbed my JC shopping quite a bit lately, and then I get the code - wooing me back! Mine was via email, and seems to be one-time only.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Zilch for me; neither account nor e-mail.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I, too, received the email but didn't see anything on my account page. Good thru 9/30/10. I agree with ReginaO, I haven't purchased anything since July, I guess they're afraid I've jumped ship!

Now if only the 20% off sweaters promo will make it's way online...Helloooo Arrow Sweater in Caramel!

  25. OT: received this email from JCrew inviting NY'ers for an evening of shopping and cocktail with Jenna, Sept 10 7-9pm

  26. Thanks for the tip... but no, I was not a 'chosen' one.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I got emailed a free shipping code good through the end of September. It's my first freebie too!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. I got the free shipping code via email too. Too bad we can't combine it w/the 30% off. Found a few things on sale but not $150 worth after discount.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I actually received the e-mail this morning. Strange but true. Maybe I'm back in their good graces. I used to receive all the perks, but nothing recently.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Well, shit. This might be the straw that broke the camel's back for me. I'm thoroughly disgusted, and I'd be stunned if I didn't already expect this treatment.

Absolutely unbelievable that spending the ungodly amount of money I've dropped all summer long counts for absolutely nothing at this this place. Not that I shop to be rewarded in any way, it just seems to be common sense these days.

Way to reward your best and most loyal customers, Millard. I think I'm done supporting the establishment for a while. What a shame.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I got the code through email, but I have returned a fair amount of stuff. I think this promo is geared toward luring those of us who had spent more in the past back in. I ordered CC items, but they don't have any shipping :).

    ReplyDelete
  32. So funny as I found the email about 2 minutes after my husband saw the collection catalog, started perusing it and asked me if I could make it a week without purchasing something from J. Crew ;-) so guess I am having different experience than REgina. Maybe its a lotto...

This is the first time I ever received anything like this--I am thrilled.

  33. When these "log-in" bonuses started last fall, I got one free ship and then the rest were the less-useful offers, like gift boxes and monogramming. And I did get the "Mickey" resusable % off cards in December 2008 and April 2009.

But in 2010, my spending has tapered off to about 1/4 of my 2008-9 spending rate, and the "extras" have stopped entirely. So if they're sending this promo to formerly good customers I'd expect to see one.

I'd be happier to see one of those "cardholder-only" sales they promise but don't seem to deliver.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I have definitely spent more in the past 3 months that I ever have. In fact, I should get a pretty nice rewards card this period. Don't get the "method to their madness".

Unfortunately, I'm not even sure if I'll use the code (even though I'm so excited to FINALLY receive something) because what I really want is the zipper gloves and the Bonbon coat and I'm waiting for some kind of percent off promo, my rewards card...SOMETHING. I can't justify buying those two pricey items unless there's some promo other than free shipping.

  35. I got the free shipping on my account thru 9/19. When I was checking out this morning I noticed the shipping charge had been removed I thought (um, hoped) maybe it was a glitch (since my purchase was under $150). It wasn't till after checking out that I thought maybe I ought to check My Account to see what was up. I was almost certain I'd been removed from "The List" since I was not on the receiving end of the last free gift (what was it, peaches this time?) But glad to know I'm still in their good graces for now. And the free shipping has been put to good use already. :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. If you didn't receive the free shipping, don't worry. This is a mall retailer wearing overpriced crappy quality "boutique" clothes. Don't let J. Crew's policy make you feel bad because that's pretty much what it's designed to do. Tell J. Crew what the deal is with your (lack) of purchases and a nice e-mail or two if you feel like it.

  37. I just keep hoping the final sale will go back to fall sale before my coupon code expires end of this month! Unless you make lots of purchases the one time use is a bit better b/c it lasts longer IMO. Holding out for fall sale to return.... Otherwise I know I won't use this code and will gladly share it.

  38. nomoneyfun,

I did just that in an email last week. My online PS responded. She now realizes why I am not placing several orders like I used to and has stopped emailing me....Oh well. If JCrew's bottom has truly fallen out than I know I may be partly responsible for seriously cutting them off! All good things must come to an end. I am sad truly but it was so fun while it lasted!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I received the email with free shipping for the entire month. So far, since i started shopping with J.Crew (2+ years), i've received all the free shipping promos they have offered to customers, and the other freebies too (except for the peaches!). I do shop with them a lot though. About 90% of my wardrobe is JC now. Still a fan :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Got the one time free shipping offer! Hopefully some of the items in my cart will go on sale by the end of September so I can use it! I refuse to pay full price for a wool sweater when I won't be able to wear it for at least three months in AZ.

    ReplyDelete
  41. No love for me! No email and not when I logged in :(

Its okay, there really isn't anything I would like anyways, but it is annoying!

Congrats to those who were lucky!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. NoMoneyFun, you are so right. Being omitted from these promos always gives me that "Waanh! I was left out!" feeling that in turn leaves me wondering what I need to do to get back on their good side. Sooo irrational! JC should be asking what it takes to get back on MY good side.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I got the FS throughout September email Early this morning, normally I don't get emails until after Alexis posts about them. However, the only thing I'm interested in besides the Arrow sweater is the POW jacket, but the way JC quality is these days, I'd have to be marrying the old boy before I'd buy the jacket at FP. I'm so disappointed, I had such high hopes for the Marion jacket and the glen plaid Minnies, but when I discovered neither were lined, pfui! Do we not deserve better from our favorite retailer?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Can we use this bad boy more than once?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Hexicon, nicely put. I know I am supposed to be happy for those who got the promo, instead, I feel ackward and {frankly} annoyed. As usual, nada for me on this one..
I wish there was a clear and simple reason for J crew to award the promo, but we all know J crew is an irrational animal.:) I can only dream for J crew to be fair and square like Anthro ( which is not a less popular store).

    ReplyDelete
  46. I got my email, free on my account until Sept 19th. I've already utilized mine to order the Panne velvet bell skirt and the arrow sweater-jacket in heathered caramel! I think I usually get these free shipping promotions, but my spending habits change. So I have NO idea why they only send them out to some people.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Hexicon,

You have the right attitude. My money is too precious to worry what I need to do and how much I have to spend to get a retailer to cater to me when they should be doing that in the first place with good quality and fair prices and policies. When I get the free shipping, I don't use it just because it's a nice "perk" that they seldom offer because that's the psychology. If I'm on the fence about something they throw free shipping around so I can go ahead and order. Or if people don't get the free shipping, they think how they can spend to get it next time. Please J. Crew. You wonder why my shopping has drastically dropped in the last few months, this is why. It seems like some people have gotten a one-time code, others until the end of the month and others only until the 19th. How stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Thank you JCrew. I received the one-time use free shipping code that expires 9/30. I almost deleted the email w/o opening it thinking it was another email about the current promo. Free shipping w/o limits is the way to clear some inventory. I used to order alot more frequently when I could find no minimum/low min. codes. Hang in there, I'm sure there are more discounts and freebies to come this year and into 2011.

Hey, where is my September issue of The Stitch or whatever it was called? Maybe it's quarterly.

  49. No code here sad day! I kept hoping it would just come late in the day!!

I did get that newspaper though this weekend from j. Crew....

    ReplyDelete
  50. I got an email, good for my next purchase. I am not that thrilled, out of "principle." B&M are running a 20% off sweater sale and the online store is not. Out of principle, I refuse to buy any sweater right now from the site. (oh, and I don't do final sale, another way marginalizing customers, JCrew.)

    ReplyDelete
  51. I did get the free shipping by logging in. Happy to receive it, but to be honest, I don't need this as I usually can go to my store to make a phone order. What is intersting is that my other email account which I hardly ever use to place orders also got the email asking me to log in to get free shipping. Wish they had some nice promotions so I could use this free shipping!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Nada for me as well, I'm only shopping with free shipping now, (Hello Land's End)!

    ReplyDelete
  53. I received an email for one time use free shipping code good until Sept. 30.

The very next email in my inbox is a "News About Your Order" email. They canceled my ENTIRE order because ONE of the items wasn't in stock anymore. I am angry, disappointed and sad that I am actually thinking "Well, That's just how JCrew handles business." It is absolutely absurd. I don't even have the energy to call and complain anymore.

I did receive a Loft catalog today and there are a few things there that I like...

    ReplyDelete
  54. I was happy to get this free shipping offer. I really hope that there is another promo to pair it with, like 20% off sweaters or better yet, 20% off an entire order. The taxes, duty, etc. for my Canadian orders has been about 26% lately so it can really add up in a hurry. Free shipping doesn't always make up for it but it helps.
