Darlings, is it time for a coupon code? {20% off final sale AND free shipping!}

A big "thanks!" to Rose (of the lovely "1 More Shopping Blog"), who is super nice to share with us that J.Crew is offering free shipping on orders of $150+ with promo code VC97BT. This offer expires 10/4/10.

Another big "thanks!" to Fabulous Florida Mommy (of the fantastic "Fabulous Florida Mommy" blog), as well as jcrewphd, BLB, Drewablank, & Closet Crisis (in this post), who let us know the following promotion: J.Crew is offering 20% off Final Sale and free shipping on:
  • $100+ with code SHOPCREW
  • $125+ with code TREAT
  • $150+ with code OURTREAT
  • $175+ with code LOVECREW
All of these offers expire 9/30/10. The fine code of the promo includes:
All sales final. No exchanges, no returns. Offer valid online only. Offer not valid on J. Crew Factory items. Offer does not apply to previous purchases or gift cards. 20% off discount applies to sale items only. Offer valid through Thursday, September 30, 2010, 11:59pm ET. Free shipping offer applies to orders shipped via ground shipping totaling $100+ after 20% discount on sale items and before shipping, handling and taxes are added. Savings are applied at checkout with code SHOPCREW. Offer not valid on phone orders. Cannot be combined with any other promotion. Limit one promotional code per order.
These codes appear at the top of the screen at JCrew.com. However, the minimum is different for different users. I am not sure how they determine which computer-user gets which minimum either. Thank goodness for our amazing community of JCAs who share. :)

P.S. I have noticed that other blogs &
websites post J.Crew codes & coupons *after* this blog does. If you happen to get codes & coupons from the JCA blog & post them at your site, could you please give give a "shout out" to the JCA blog? This way more JCAs are inclined to share. TIA! :)

  1. I just saw a 20% Off Final Sale and Free Shipping with a code blurb at the top of jcrew.com but kept getting hung up when trying to enter Women's Sale. By the time I refreshed it was gone and back to free shipping on crewcuts and I can't remember the code!!

  2. I saw it too BLB! Looks like they have it back on again but changed the minimum shipping amount from $100 to $150.

The deal is 20% off Final Sale and Free shipping on $150+ with code OURTREAT at checkout until 9.30.10.

  3. There's some sort of browser shananigans...Again! I use Explorer, and the discount code I see on the site is "Extra 20% off Plus Free Ship with $175 minimum, code LOVECREW". Has anyone else seen any other variation of this?

  4. I'm using Firefox, and I'm getting TREAT as the code for free shipping with $150 minimum and 20% Final Sale.

  7. I just checked using IE and got the same code as Drewablank.

  8. Why can't JCrew get their act together?!

    Happy Monday everyone!

  9. I'm using firefox and I got $125 minimum with TREAT.

  10. lol, mine displays code "treat" with a $125 min. i use IE. weird! :)

  11. I don't have any of the promos! Mine still says free shipping with crewcuts order... wow!

  12. Similar to Mack, I've got nothing, so thank you all for sharing as I was able to use the shopcrew code with the $100 minimum.

When I went to check out, the entire top header (with the jcrew logo plus each department listed) was gone. Since I was successful in checking out and have gotten my order confirmation, I'm a happy shopper :)

  13. Still using IE, but I cleared my cache and behold! Extra 20% off FS with Free Ship on $100 minimum, use code SHOPCREW. Now we know, JC must be using a tracking cookie to determine which code we see.

They must "know" I'm a serial FS stalker. But will be resisting the crewlade this time, as there's absolutely nothing I want (keyword here: want, not need) from the FS section. I still have things in my closet that have tags on, bought a couple of promos back.

  14. Nothing when I do either! NAUGHTY, JCrew, very naughty.

  15. This kind of promo is confusing and annoying. JMO

In Firefox I get the TREAT code for $125+ while in Explorer I get the LOVEJCREW code for $175+.

  16. I'm surprised they have gone past the email and taken it to the cookie level. I see the FS $100 and SHOPCREW code. Kinda strange considering most online shoppers will try to search for a code. I am pretty sure that is how a lot of people end up here.

  17. I pay no attention to the craziness that is the changing free ship codes and instead just read this blog and use the one with the lowest minimum.

  18. I guess if you LOVECREW, you'll be willing to drop $175, after the 20% off.

I'm going to use the NOTFORME code and save 100%. :)

  19. Christy,

I am with you....I thought about a few accessories but decided NO with final sale as I have not seen any of them in person! I got to check out and then stopped and closed the window!

    Pass for me too.

  20. Thank goodness for this blog! Alexis we should all paypal you a buck! If you have thousands of hits you can maybe buy one or two full priced outfits from JC. :)

Strange: the code was not visible to me this a.m. After I read JCA, I went back using IE & it was there for the $175 min. Using Firefox, the lower min. was & is still available but when I go back through IE it no longer appears! Bizarre!!

Love the "NOTFORME" code but unfortunately I buckled on some crewcuts, the getaway tunic (should be able to work w/this no matter what & am in desperate need of long tops to wear over my matchsticks) & a textured jersey tee (neckline may look cute under button-down or v-neck).

O/t: Googled around last night & came across JC job postings for QA & DBA in VA. 30% ee disc. offered. I thought for sure they rec'd more since SA's are always head to toe JCrew.

  21. This is totally off topic, but has anyone tried washing the Twill Minnies instead of dry cleaning? They are cotton, so I would think I could wash them in the gentle cycle and then line dry. Just seeing if anyone had any experience with it. Thanks!!

  25. CCS,
I have washed my twill minnies many time and they are fine.
I wash them in cold water and lay flat to dry, stretching legs lenght wise slightly.

Does anyone know if the $99.00 cashmere promo is still in stores and what styles are on sale ?

    ReplyDelete
  26. IRL, it says "Limit one promotional code per order." I don't believe that is the same as one-time use. I imagine they put that there because they released a few codes at the same time. They want to let customers know we can't use OURTREAT and then try to apply LOVECREW for a further discount. Not that they let you use more than one code anyway. Just a CYA statement in case someone calls CS to try it. JMO.

  28. mini t - thanks so much for the info!! That was my thought and I'm happy to hear I can save a little on dry cleaning.

  29. OT: re: Talbots: received my first rewards of $25 to use towards my next purchase. The great thing about it is is good for one whole year! (unlike JCrew's Rewards which expire very quickly).

  30. CaptainCrew-Thanks for clarifying! I agree w/you & will delete my previous post. Not trying to make excuses but I'm running on little sleep so please excuse my mistake! Also, I think my brain is trying to rationalize why the promo code no longer appears on the site for me.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I get no message about 20% off final sale...just the message about free shipping on crewcuts. Thank you so much Alexis and the JCAs for sharing such valuable information!!

  32. mint t, I got some cashmere yesterday. I didn't get the feeling that the $99 promo was ending anytime soon but I did email my PS asking (no response yet). If she gets back to me, I will post the info here.
As for styles, it was just the vneck and the crewneck and it was all colors (even basics like black, navy and snow).
When they ran this promo last year, I remember having to ask about it each time I was in store, but every single SA mentioned it this time, I think they were trying to make room for the new arrivals this Wed.

  33. Alexis, the little red card (25% off any in-store purchase) is back!

I am emailing you with details and pictures :)

    ReplyDelete
  34. Caroline,
When you say crewneck cashmere on sale do you mean crewneck cardigan?

  36. Does anyone know of any competitors of J.Crew who post different codes/sales for different customers on their online site? This seems so bizarre and I've never heard of anything like this, so I wonder where they picked up this practice.

Add this on top of even some silver card holders not receiving a 25% off card and it just appears sales are being handed out without any rhyme or reason.

I can also added the overcharging for UPS shipment and you get the picture.

Yet I keep coming back for more =)

  37. Off subject - I received the Bettina Cami today and love it! It's adorable especially for the price. However you can see straight through the lace trim that goes down each side of the front. Are any other JCA's wearing anything underneath their Bettina cami or just not worrying about the little bit of bra that shows through??

  38. I am mad that I didn't get this e-mail. I had things in my cart waiting for a promo... which I never do. And now they are gone. Ohhh well.

  39. IRL,

The SAs get extra (outside of their everyday discount) discounts sometimes, i.e. 40% off one item a month, occassional 50% off one item chosen by the company, and sometimes items completely free. This is smart on J Crew's part since it keeps their SAs wearing as much J Crew as possible.

    ReplyDelete
  40. mint t, no unfortunately not the crewneck cardigan...just the long sleeve cashmere crewneck tee (item 28763)...sorry for the confusion.
FYI, the San Diego location also had the vintage wisteria, seaweed and what I believe is the nordic blue in the crewneck tee. Not sure if those are store only colors but they are not yet online. They are all very pretty though.

  41. I ordered a navy Bettina, a Forever cardi, a paper poplin shirt in bronzed avocado ( saw a woman in this shirt last week and it's a great fall color!), a Jersey Lomelina black one piece suit and the plaid Carmichael popover...all for about $111.I wouldn't have known about the FS discount and free shipping if not for this blog, so THANK YOU! Usually I get e-mails from JC letting me know about deals, but not this time. Maybe because they had already sent me a red/white card? Have only used the card to purchase a striped scarf and some plain black ballet flats in store....the flats are going back as I have decided they are too boring (and I found some cute one with a studded bow on them at Gap for $30). I may try on the black studded toe suede flats....and see what else I can find! Both Austin stores are full of the new fall things! I have my eye on the moss tweed pencil skirt...has anyone tried this on?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Has anyone tried the linen-silk Milla dress? TIA!

    ReplyDelete
  43. ordered ankle toothpick jean. Tried them on @ Chicago store and loved them but not for $125. Online they were on promo for $98 AND the 20% off worked. I saved liked $50! Also got the Florett Cami.

  44. this is very good... or it could be very bad... i plan on getting the "Protector of the Universe" tee for my 5yr old that just was in a car crash. A non-affiliated superhero action can cheer up anyone!

    ReplyDelete
  45. The discount doesn't show on my iphone's safari. I guess they can't plant a cookie on the mobile browser...
My IE on my home computer shows 20% off $175.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Yesterday the website seemed to scroll through the offers because it refreshed to a different one every time I went to the site. Today all I see is the FS on crewcuts.

I didn't notice a restock today at all. I'm stalking a couple of recent popbacks and if they appear I'll bite but otherwise, I see nothing of interest.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Apologies for the slightly OT question, which I feel I should already know the answer to, but does anyone know whether sale items purchased in-store are final at the moment? I made a sale purchase today and the associate did not indicate it was final, and as we've discussed here recently my receipt just says go to jcrew.com.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I've been told that in store sale is not final unless you get extra percent off. They will stamp the receipt. You have 30 days.
