J.Crew Email: A special gift from J.Crew & Tablet Hotels

"Thanks!" to so many of you, including Marietta, Twiga, Faith, RatsOnParade, JustVisiting, & DrDrama, as well as Corry, kellyanne311, Drewablank, JBird, IRL, DaniBP, FFM, & dinagideon (in this post), who let us know the latest promotion from J.Crew.

The email announces that J.Crew is teaming up with Tablet Hotels for some special perks (click here to read more on it). Essentially customers can get a free membership to the Table Plus Program.

Not going to lie, I am confused by this combination. Not really sure why J.Crew would team up with Tablet Hotels. But it seems like a nice offer.

What are your thoughts on this promotion? Is this a good extension of J.Crew's partnerships? Will you sign up? :)

  1. Thanks, but i'd rather have free shipping! With no minimum!

  2. It is an odd pairing but Kate Spade just did the same thing and partnered with Tablet hotels. Maybe it's for an upcoming promotion/trip giveaway?

  3. Huh? Don't distract me. Actually, too bad this didn't happen earlier in the year w/resort. It would have made more sense then. Of course lots of partnerships are happening, but yeah, odd.

  4. Lori J - the email also came with FS until May 31... which I will get more use out of! I appreciate the thought, though....

  7. I didn't get the email. I think that Tablet is the hotel group that J.Crew partnered with when they had trip giveaways. That seems like sooo long ago. Now I am just thrilled to have a free shipping offer :)

  8. Got the email but didn't say anything about free shipping? Where did you all see it??

  9. Hey J.Crew, how about you just stick to making quality clothes like you did in Fall of 2007?

  10. I agree, I'd way rather have free shipping. Odd combo.

  11. ReginaO: The note about Free Shipping is after the small paragraph that says "Click Here to learn more about the perks at Tablet Hotels and sign up".

  12. Thanks FFM, but I don't have that in my email. Sadness has enveloped me :(

  13. Christy - seriously! I went to my B&M today for the first time in weeks - the back had an entire wall of sale tee shirts - stretched out, covered with fraying ribbon, stones falling off, etc. I couldn't even tell the different styles apart! Those shirts should be like, $2.99 apiece just to get them out of there - I wouldn't be surprised if they end up at TJ Maxx.

  14. Amen, Christy.

However, lack of quality is not just J.Crew. I went to Anthro store and most of the items did not have the quality I was expecting for the price point. Lots of tees and things falling apart at the rack.

  15. Miss Penny - I purchased the Gabby Satchel in seahorse beige and returned it. I loved the size and shape but the color didn't work for me. It was too pinky and too orangey at the same time - it reminded me of makeup from the 80's. I held my catalog up to it and it looked to be the same color yet at the same time not. It did seem like it would be weird to get into some of the inside compartments but maybe that was because I didn't fully unwrap all the packaging on it because I knew I would return due to the color.

If you have free shipping you might want to try it out for yourself.

  16. jcrewphd,

Yes, quality problems is not just JCrew. Got a scarf from Talbots today. New arrival section. It had a huge whole in it the size of a quarter. Really disappointed. The up side is I reordered a new one and it is now on sale for even less than I paid!

  17. @ Girlification of Jules,

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I was interested in the seahorse beige because i thought it was going to be more like a nude color but now with your description, i'm not sure i want it anymore. I might still order the the lilac and see how it turns out.
    Thanks again!

  18. Did anyone else notice that Jcrew pulled all their "in good company" items? I suppose because of the 20% off sale, which excludes them. Annoying though!
