  1. DEFINITELY GO! Cute stuff and LOTS of it! Tops start at $15-40; Skirts, shorts, pants 430 on up; jackets $40-60; Dresses (day and formal) $40-60; Jewelry ranged from $15-35 (saw a $150 cuff for $35 that someone grabbed); J.Crew couture items (such as sequined jackets and dresses) started at $99; Italian cashmere sweaters $60+ LOTS of cute shoes at around $60 in all sizes. LOTS of spring/ summer items to stock up on. I may go back this week as they are promising to restock each day. Worth a trip!

  2. Worth to go - not many people were there today about 15.00, easy to browse. Clothing section not so great to my taste - but maybe it's just me - you know everything wrinkled and sampled. But I stalked the shoes section - bought black patent ballet flats, patent rose Juliet and driving mocs - flats 60, heels 99. I wanted much more! So good lick with your shopping. Hoped for brown elsbth exfords though. Where can one find them in NY?
P.S. the ladies browsing there were so stylish!

  4. just to throw another opinion out there, I stopped by today and left with nothing. the clothing section was, as spockcookbook says, wrinkled and sampled. I have a hard time shopping these types of events and this was no exception.. but if you like the thrill of the hunt, you may find a gem.

the shoe selection was decent, but I don't need any ballet flats or driving mocs, which was what seemed to be the main event. was hoping for some sandals, but not much available in my size (8 1/2).

there was a small selection of jewelry, some nice looking cocktail rings but unfortunately all were too large for my fingers.

sorry to sound like a debbie downer, just wanted to share my two cents for anyone who is thinking about going.

  5. I checked out the sale yesterday around 2 p.m. and have to agree with Allie....not very impressed with the clothing selection. Looked like a lot of the same merchandise from the February sample sale. Lots of wrinkled/worn looking items and nothing worse than finding a shirt only to have "SAMPLE" written across the inside in black marker which showed through! There were a lot of sweaters for those who wear an XS.

I'd say jewelry was the best part - a good selection when I was there (though hoped for cheaper prices). I did get one necklace (would have purchased another but the woman next to me was faster than I was).

That said, I'm planning to go back since I work a few blocks away and there are promises of more accessories, handbags and jewelry on Thursday. Good luck!

  6. I just got back from the sample sale. I'd say it is worth it to go if you are interested in jewelry or you are below a size 6 or small - I only saw a few 8s and no mediums (but I didn't look that hard). They don't allow try-ons of the clothes (but you can try the shoes - but there's not much variety). Some stuff was in good condition, but most items were a bit shopworn. Lots of weird stuff that clearly never made it to production. Some stuff was a bit pricey - $99 for heels that were $59 during final sale, etc. I ended up just getting jewelry - I got the Sunray Necklace ($65), the Enamel Lobster Bracelet in Ivory (they also had red) ($35), and a pair of beaded earrings that I hadn't noticed before (blue and orange stones w/ green crystals embedded on gold balls) ($25). I was pretty satisfied with my purchases.

  7. I went again today - I was seduced by the promise of handbags, hair accessories, and reduced prices. I got another necklace (thin with yellow starfish, don't know the name) ($30), a linen scarf in purple ($20 - in stores for $50), and a pair of JC Collection shoes from last spring - I think they're the Posie style in light caramel ($150). Bag selection was terrible, as were the accessories (random belts, some Madewell junk, weird scarves). Hair accessories were okay but I definitely don't need any more headbands. No new stock as far as I could see; way less T-shirts than yesterday - they're down to one rack on the back wall rather than 2.

  8. I had a good experience the first day. I got about 6 tops and 1 cardigan.
then I went back when I found out one shirt didn't fit. So i exchanged it and got another cute little cardigan and another shirt.

I'm a size XS there so I lucked out big time.

  9. I went the first day, an hour after opening was a little disappointed...I was hoping for shoes in my size, 10, but it was mostly flip flops. They had a ton of accessories though. I guess my closet is better for not finding anything, sadly to me though :(
