  1. I was waiting for the poppy print Erica to go on sale and now its out of stock in my size! That's the only thing I would have purchased during this promotion.

  2. I'm no longer interested in the 20% off promos as things get marked down so quickly ...
    A free shipping code, anyone?

    ReplyDelete
  3. this is so perfect, as I need to buy a bridesmaids dress... but ouch, where is the free shipping?? (we sound like broken records, haha)

    ReplyDelete
  4. The only dress I'd be interested in getting is the double-v knit dress, but like others, would want a free shipping code. However, I have a feeling that I'll get a better deal if I just wait for it to go on sale! It's not like I can wear it now anyway...

    ReplyDelete
  5. Speaking of the double-v dress, if anyone has IRL pics of it, I'd love to see it!

  6. Thinking about the cotton Jessie dress...but need free shipping before I'd bother. The Poppy Erica dress is so pretty too...I wonder if I'd get tired of the print, though?

  7. Agree with Ema. Free shipping code is needed!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Somewhat tempted considering there are two dresses I'd like to try. BUT I would loveee free shipping. :)

  9. I was up at the crack of dawn to catch a flight and quickly checked the sale section - it was over 900+ items and TONS of Fall 2009 Jewelry but without any free ship or % off it was easy to pass. Not to mention that I needed to stop shopping and catch a flight! No dresses that interest me...

  10. Nothing for me unless there's free shipping or extra % off.
If we all wait I'm sure there will be a promo next week. ;-)

  11. I adore the Sunshine peony coccinelle dress - definitely in the running for my rehearsal dinner dress!

  12. What's up with all the ankle socks with sandals? If it's warm enough to have bare legs and wear cute dresses and sandals I'm not going to wear socks! Besides the fact that they look ridiculous.

  13. FYI, I ordered the Jessie dress w/ the last free ship code and it's definitely going back. I thought it would be a little heavier but the fabrics are SO thin/sheer it's almost like a chemise. I ordered the "shadow" (navy), and the skirt is so sheer it requires a slip, the slub cotton top is VERY thin. It would be cute as swim cover up, or an at home only dress, but not what I was expecting at all...so bummed! The fit was good and it would have been perfect had they just used some more substansial fabrics...but at $69.50, not worth it. More like $29.99.

  14. Some of the dresses listed when you click on the sale don't appear to reflect the % off but why would they put them in the list if they weren't? For instance the long Taryn gown? Any one know or have seen this also?

  15. Twiga, glad you caught your plane! One time I was late (like, really late) to a class because I wanted to finish an auction on ebay. Real life can interfere with shopping only if we let it... (ha, ha!)

I am really happy with a few things I got during the 30% + free ship. The ivory twin to my beloved grey nonno is just a warm and cozy as her sister! I'm quite enthralled with the lino cardi I got, too. It's thin, but I love the 80% cotton, 20% wool blend. It is really quite soft and has a nice, smooth hand. It seems to have about the dimensions as the Jackie, but the fit is a bit boxier without the Jackie's stretchy/ clingy factor. I think it looks a bit shorter than the Jackies on me because of the trim, but it seems to be an optical illusion. I bought the grey, surprise, surprise, and would consider the tan if it happens to pop back during another promo.

I don't plan on ordering anything for awhile, especially with no free shipping code. On the last day of the last promo, I ordered the Robin in two colors and the Isle knit dress. Hopefully one of the Robins will work for a fancier wedding I'm going to soon. Nothing was marked with the dreaded red ink on the invoice, so whatever I don't love is gong back.

  16. CheesyGoodness: when you get the Isle Knit dress, would you be willing to do a review on it? It's been on my wishlist since it came out!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Amy --> thanks for the review on the Jessie dress. Sounds like a no-go if it's that sheer!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Cheesy - Did you have any luck getting the Celocia in the CBR?

    ReplyDelete
  19. OT - I have a one-time use 25% off code for Martin + Osa. I'm not going to use it, so thought I'd post it here in case someone is interested.

the web code is 52725973. if you use it, can you please just post afterwards?

    hope someone can benefit!

  20. Lot of talk about JC lacking promos and FS...just so you know, LE Canvas has 25%off any reg. priced item and FS over $50...I just picked up the cotton lawn skirt that Alexis got during an earlier promo and a few of the gingham poplin shirts:) Better step up JC!

  21. Allie, I am gonna use the M+O Code...thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Allie, thank you for the code. I have a new cashmere sweater, 2 pairs of pants and some tees on their way to me.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Allie, I thin the code can be used more than once. I tried another cartfull as a test and it still worked. It also worked on the Raybans, which doesn't happen often.

    ReplyDelete
  24. stella: what is the code/pin # for the lands end canvas promo? TIA!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I will NOT be taking advantage of this promotion. I am not a big fan of JCrew's dresses, I prefer Ralph Lauren's.

    ReplyDelete
  26. AppGal,
Sometimes the LE codes and pin are for individual use only. If one gives theirs out then it is no longer valid. So I am not sure about this one. Just sign up for their emails and you will get codes in a day or two. You need to sign up at both LE and Canvas sites.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Genny: Thanks :) I signed up about a week ago but haven't gotten any emails with promos yet.

    ReplyDelete
  28. OT:
I have a one-time use M&O code for 25% off as well. Good until March 28th. Please post when used. Enjoy!

    webcode: 43716775

  29. KDot,

glad to hear it! sounds like you got some good stuff too.

btw, I think the code expires March 25.

  30. Back to the dresses, I'm intrigued by the Midnight Swiss-dot shift dress (still way too expensive but on sale). Anybody tried/ordered this? It looks beautiful but I fear the nightgown effect.
    TIA!

  31. Here is another review of the Jessie cotton dress:

I hope this helps those who might be on the fence about it!

  32. AppGap, I almost always love JC's jersey dresses! I'll definitely post an opinion on here, it says it shipped but no info on the arrival date, but it should be by the end of the week.

kitsmommy, no luck on the CBR Celosia. I fondled it again at the store on Monday, and there were only like three left. None in my size, of course! I ended up getting a Felted Lei cardi from Anthro, it's a similar color with pretty embellishment, so I'm filing this one under "ones that got away."

SallyO, Happy St. Pat's right back atcha'! Too bad there's no holiday post today. I am quite a sight in a bright green slub top, a cashmere hoodie in "dark carrot" from '08, jeans, and green glitter eyeshadow. I refrained from rocking my green poly leisure suit so as not to embarrass my daughter, but maybe next year!

  33. Has anyone tried the Cotton Blakely Dress (#23978)? Does it fit TTS? Does it dip down really low in the front? I'm not really wanting to show the "girls" off too much!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Elizabeth - I got the Cotton Blakely Dress (also got the zebra one, so I might be a bit biased :)). I think it fits true to size - I took my normal regular and petite sizes. I would say if you're on the larger end of your size, you may want to consider sizing up, especially if you're large in the bust/ribcage area. I think the picture is pretty true to life to how low it dips down. I plan on wearing a light cami under mine. Hope that helps!

    ReplyDelete
  35. AppGal - I have a promo code for the 25% off at Lands' End that I don't plan on using. Let me know if you'd like it!

    ReplyDelete
  36. This is silly. They should at least offer 20% on dresses IN STORE, as well, or FREE SHIPPING.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I bought the Jessie dress in muted grape and i LOVE it! It fits TTS and I do not have a problem with it being see-through. I will probably buy it in another color.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Jenny: I would love that! You are so sweet :) Do you still have my email?

    ReplyDelete
  39. I agree with Jenny on the Blakely fit. It's TTS but definitely snug around the ribcage if you're broader through the bust or back.
I don't have the "boobs" problem, so the v-neck isn't an issue for me ;)

  40. I may take advantage of this promo since my online PS has offered to comp the shipping on my next order. I have a couple of dresses on my wishlist so I'll mull it over.

OT, but since it is St. Patrick's day... I wore the green honeyclover ruffled romance blouse today, it's a beautiful top. If you are between sizes and have a bit of a bust you may want to size up. I can usually wear an 8 or a 10 in perfect shirts. I bought this in a 10 and it *just fits* across the bust. Granted, I'm a bit busty but that's my point. Probably not a good idea to SD on this one.

casual-crew, WRT your other post - it's always UPS. Easier to get the duty refunded on returns that way. (I was able to read your post this morning but couldn't respond until now.) HTH

  41. AppGal: here is the code for the LE promo- Promotion Code BLOOM and PIN 15056846

  42. i was wondering if anyone has seen or purchased the Jcrew refined cashmere wrap in bright tangerine. I purchased mine off the jcrew website without having seen it first because the bright tangerine color looked absolutely gorgeous and so vivid! Imagine my disappointment when I got it in the mail and it was nowhere near orange and instead a pinkish-salmon color. I'm actually wondering if I was sent the wrong item just because the color is so off. Has anyone else seen the cashmere wrap in bright tangerine?

    ReplyDelete
  43. xoxo: Thanks, btw my parcel shipped out tonight. JC must be really busy or they have cut staff in the shipping dept.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Hey, everyone. Just got a call from my store manager who said that new collection hits floors tomorrow in my B&M. She said it was originally slated for next week, but they moved it forward a week. She says there is a lot of color and lots of cute, new things. I'm probably not going to be able to drop in until the weekend though. Just a heads up to check your local B&M!

    ReplyDelete
  45. OT: I also have a code for Lands' End, which appears to also work for the Canvas line. It's for 25% off of 1 item and Free Shipping or 25% off the highest price item in your order and then Free Shipping if you spend $50+. It's a one time use, so if you're interested in it just email me...it goes to the first person who asks. :)

  46. CheesyGoodness - Regarding the CBR Celosia cardigan, what store have you seen it at, and do you remember which sizes were left? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Won't be ordering any dresses, having a bad JC day.

It was bound to happen ... I received my first obviously used-and-returned FS item, a charmed mini bag with big worn/scuffed marks on the bottom and wear marks on the latch. WTH?

  48. I created a post that has links to irl pics of J Crew dresses. The Blakely is on there, w/links to bloggers who have irl pics of the zebra version. If I don't have your link to irl pics of a dress, drop it in the comments of the appropriate post and I'll add it. :-)

  49. Oh -- agree w/Heather. I also stopped by J Crew and heard the truck is coming tonite! New arrivals will be out manana.

  50. I saw a few things that tempted me... but without free shipping, I have been doing much more damage at Anthropologie's site - free shipping throughout March for anthro card members (and it's free to get an anthro card)!

The shipping rates are just so outrageous (compare with sites like 6pm.com - flat shipping of $6.95 no matter how much you buy) that I can't bring myself to erase a 20% discount in between shipping & taxes, you know??

    ReplyDelete
  51. I just received my Turkish Delight pencil skirt. This one is a keeper, even at the steep full price of $158 (at least I received free shipping!). I've been skunked lately on a few high-demand items that sold out, so I sucked up the Crewlade and paid FP.

The color combination is a knockout. I plan to wear this with similar colors for a tone-on-tone look rather than going for any contrast. IRL the pink is just a little bit softer than JC's tulip color from last year, and the other color is a peachy tone between melon and guava. It is definitely more of a peach or cantaloupe than an orange. IMO a true orange, such as the Joely shoes, clashes badly. A lighter tangerine might work.

It looked *amazing* with my melon Victoria. (Heathen that I am, our annual visit to DH's church at Easter is mostly an excuse for me to dress up and have brunch afterward, so that will be my holiday outfit.) It also worked with my soft blossom silk streamers cami, guava mohair cardi, perfect tees in tulip, salmon, and melon, dusty rose spectator peep toes, shell Cate slingbacks, etc.

Re fit: this sits higher on the waist than many skirts have lately. As with all JC items, if you are an hourglass like me you will find the waist to be very large. I took my "usual" JC 2 but probably could have gone down to a 0. I'd say the fit is comparable to last year's watercolor pencil skirt. (I'll keep the 2 since I'll have to have the waist altered anyway.) Wearing the skirt closer to the natural waist, the hem hit me just where I like it, right at the bend in the knee. (I'm 5'4".) So if you're taller, then depending on how this fits your waist/hips this skirt could hit you higher than you might think.

My office is conservative business attire part of the time and casual the year. Between the pastels and the metallic, I would probably not wear this to the office during our more formal season, but if your office is more flexible then because of the otherwise conservative cut I'd think you'd be OK.

  52. With no codes, not even a free shipping, I'm not tempted at all.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Free shipping over $150 with code SPZ437

    ReplyDelete
  54. Thanks Lucy! How long until the code expires?

    ReplyDelete
  55. I'm not sure when it expires, found it on another jcrew forum.

  56. Jenny, the elusive CBR is at the Ann Arbor store in Michigan. The sizes I saw on Monday were smaller, I think the largest was an M? There were only four left, I think. The pic you have up, the little dog, is exceptionally cute!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Weird, my store had new arrivals out today. There's a very pretty linen tunic, but the fit was off on me. Same print in a silk/cotton perfect shirt and jeweled top. This bizarre floor-length cotton voile dress with a tie at the bust. I'm sure it looks awesome on someone, but that someone was NOT me. Some cute new Ts (at $30, instead of $50+), some horrid recycled-from-the-80s-trash-bin Ts, MORE teeny ruffled minis -one in a Liberty-like floral - with contrasting neon waistbands (yes, you read that right), and, ummm, probably several other things but I didn't crewze much.

    ReplyDelete
  58. My local JCrew said they wont' be getting the new arrivals until next week. Nothing new coming for them. Seems to be the case. The store is always a bit behind. I would call my store before venturing out.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Ok, checked the website to see if anything I mentioned above was up yet, and it doesn't seem so. But the linen tunic, perfect shirt and top appear to be the same print as the beaded bazaar shell (24718), if that helps anyone

  60. Cheesy Goodness - Thank you for the information! My PS wasn't able to find it yesterday, so I just e-mailed the info you gave.

And you are too sweet about my dog - thank you! (But don't let him fool you- he is a beast!) :)

  61. I bought the Delphinia gown in pale oak during this sale...I did want some other dresses but I find that they are on sale, like some dresses I purchased a month ago at the store are now on sale online!
