Extra 30% Off Final Sale This Weekend

A big "thanks!" to many of you, including JCJewels, Suzi, as well as Heidi (in this post) & Marisa (in this post) who let us know about another offer from J.Crew.

J.Crew is offering customers 30% off any purchase from Final Sale {no minimum} with promo code EXTRA30. This offer is good through this Monday, 3/1/10.

I am thrilled to see this promotion. Like a true fan(atic), I got a few items this morning. Of course, I felt a bit bummed out about the purchases I made yesterday (sans promo). Ah well! That is the game of J.Crew-roulette (or "crewlette", as I like to call it) that we all play. Right? :)

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? Are there any sale items you are interested in getting?

  1. I caved for a popback of the Harper metallic heels. I've been very happy w/that silhouette of shoe from J Crew. To get it on sale is very good, even with the shipping. Oh how I hated that shipping on there...

  2. Nothing for me...well, maybe if some of the newer pieces on my wishlist get added AND they include Free Shipping in the promo. :)

  3. The T-shirt for Haiti is now available on-line this am $25.00.

I ordered last night with the 20% off the knits and tees promo.

  4. Caved and got the Black Blossom jacket & one more cambridge cable sweater for me and a bunch of the Sueded jersey zip tops (item #18002) for my hubby- for $17!-He LOVES these. Hate paying shipping, but since I usually never do I guess I have to once in awhile.
    TGIF!

  5. I wish they had done a decent restock. Nothing for me this time. I picked up some new items yesterday with a 20% off and free ship code I received.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Like FFM. Nothing for me unless there is free shipping added.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Finally picked up the fair isle cardigan and another eden blazer (since it was $34! crazy!).

  8. Was just about to check out but shipping killed the discount, so I changed my mind. Even though it was an item I've wanted forever.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Same here.. free ship or no sale... unless it's a rare popback that I've wanted for a while.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Nothing for me without free ship! Otherwise, I've been eyeing the jacquard dot pencil skirt, even though it looked horrible on Erin Wasson in the January catalog. I think that may have just been the way it was styled (with McAlister boots, a men's belt, and knit hoodie...and of course the bunch of necklaces!).

    ReplyDelete
  11. You know, we could look at it as 20% off with free ship and no minimum, because that's about what shipping amounts to - roughly 10%. When you view it that way, it's not so bad.

Still nothing I want in the current final sale section however!

  12. I grabbed some loot this morning, had been waiting for a promo like this for the cashmere (I'm a fan) so the shipping was nothing compared to my savings. I love the featherweight cashmere for spring over dresses, as luck would have it, the colors I have been eyeing were on sale. There were a lot of other basics I've been stashing away in my shopping bag, so I was very pleased with the surprise promo this morning.

  13. OT: free shipping is so an incentive for me...got a Martin and Osa new spring scarf that was on sale/additional % off/free ship ordered last weekend. It is gorgeous silk. Reminds me of a Monet painting.

I am getting good at Land's End Overstock popbacks. I have figured out when they restock; twice a day and been able to score some great items with free shipping:)

Glad others are using this promo. If free ship pops up with it this weekend I might bite but otherwise no.

  14. I just got an email... free shipping on JC jewelry this weekend, ends Sunday. ??

    That's kinda... odd.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Love the extra 30%! I went for a tissue tee, cords and ankle toothpick jeans early this morning :)

How about you? Have a great weekend!

    ReplyDelete
  16. I got the charlie ruffled platforms in indigo! I have been trying to find them for so long...

    ReplyDelete
  17. Bought the denim pencil skirt -- had been waiting for a petite in my size. It's a consulation prize for shoveling the car out this morning.

I refuse to buy camis or tees on a blizzard day!

  18. I splurged on a bag - when I got to the site they had 24 different bags in the sale section. I bought a small Georgie satchel in black. Just a simple, nice and basic bag - which I needed. However, I was torn between the Georgie and the Marche satchel (the smaller one), which I also love. I can't find decent pictures of it online though - has anyone seen it IRL? Is it cute? I love the fawn colour.

  19. ^ I'm not complaining, but this promo would have been soooo sweet with free ship.

  20. My shopping ban has vanished with this promo! There was a decent restock last night and a better one this morning, so I got two pairs of shoes I've been stalking, two pairs of pants ($13.99!!), a pair of shorts ($10.49), the Edie eyelet dress ($48!), and a couple sweaters for $34 each! Unfortunately I placed it in a couple different orders, so I got banged for shipping twice, but 30% off of a large order is pretty significant, so I won't complain. :)

  21. Em, good for you for holding strong! No shipping = nada for mama, but I did cave on a few CC items for next year. I got little miss fab a stripy tee dress, a peacoat, and a marled crewneck sweater from the boys' section, all for sixty bucks. Not too shabby! I just hope it all ships correctly.

  22. Can anyone offer an opinion on the fit of the Stadium-Cloth Friday Coat (20137) or the Silk Streamers Cami (19939)? I take a size 6 in the Annalise, could probably have sized down to a 4.

    PS
How do you create links in a post?

    Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  23. Em,
Good for holding strong. I am too. Nada on this promo. Not even looking!

    ReplyDelete
  24. OT-If any of you are in LOVE with shoes from Ann Taylor like I am, you should know that select styles are $99.50 right now!! Plus, with the code SHOP30 you get 30% off regular priced items of $100+ (yes, this code still worked even though the shoes are on promo) PLUS, free shipping on order of $150+!! I got 4 pairs of shoes for around $70 each!! That's over half off the regular price! :) Enjoy!

  25. I had a good morning. My office declared a snow day and I picked up a pop back of the paisley perfect shirt with the 30% off promo. I was on the fence on the shirt for a long time and, when I finally decided I want it, I couldn't find it in my size.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'm holding out since it's not free shipping. I may cave if they had more in the sale section but there's not much.
    Good weekend everyone! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  27. I could not hold strong...I ended up purchasing the black blossom blazer which says "campo feminine" as well as the pink frost pastiche necklace!

    ReplyDelete
  28. The mica mini popped back in my size! Shipping or not I couldn't resist :)

    ReplyDelete
  29. I just ordered myself another long sherpa hoodie (have the pale pink, just got the shadow). I love this hoodie so much! I love the longer length and the cozy lining and have been living in my pink one since Christmas. At 35 dollars it is well worth the purchase. I also got a pair of matchstick cords in the faded black because they were 21 dollars. Come on, that's a deal, even with the ridiculous shipping charge :) I am so sick of the snow and cold- I needed a lift!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Got the Terra Paisley Shift Dress on popback! I have been eyeing this on Ebay but not willing to pay the $170 price tag; with the 30% off and shipping it was $112 :)

I'm worried about the fit though (got a P2 when I would have really preferred a regular 2) so you ladies may see it on the weekly exchange soon, haha!

  31. Belle de jour, I tried the Friday coat last fall while it was still full price. I thought it looked so cute and casual. My usual size fit fine and the stadium cloth fabric is very nice, my favorite from J.Crew. I ended up returning the coat because it was not flattering on my tallish, straight frame. There was an a-line shape overall, which I didn't like on me. The pockets were really small as the buttons and button holes cut them off short. The back belt was really, really high, likely because I'm tall and I didn't like the way that looked, especially from the side. I ordered the ivory and you could see through where the inside facing met the lining at the front, which is something that happens with light garments sometimes but not acceptable for me. If it would have hit right on the princess seam OK, but it was just a bit off and noticeable when I tried on with a dark sweater. I'm sure that would only happen with the ivory color though. I would say if you like a-line coats and are curvy and more petite it would probably look nice. But I'm just guessing.

I also bought the silk streamers cami in my usual J.Crew shirt size and I kept this cami, it's really sweet. I got the light berry, which is a very pretty pinky-mauve. The streamers arrived really flat but I lifted them with a steamer and the effect is very nice as there are multiple layers of silk. I have worn with and without the belt and like it both ways, the longer length is great with low-rise jeans. The silk is very light and fine so I will be wearing this for months. There is a side zip, which some JCAs don't like but it is quite long and did not pucker or bulge on mine.

    HTH

  32. CheesyGoodness and Genny, it was easy only because the item was $98, and with 30% off, plus the cost of shipping it was $85. Talk about a bullshit discount. Do they think we're dumb? It's not 30% off when you have to pay absurd shipping costs.

But if you're getting a ton of stuff, it's probably worth it. Not for one item that I arguably don't need....

    ReplyDelete
  33. Has anyone tried the stretch chambray suiting and could offer an opinion on fit, quality, etc?

    TIA

    ReplyDelete
  34. Gigi, I was eyeing the Harpers too, really love the style. BUT I couldn't stomach the shipping costs and it wasn't much of a discount with them...oh well

Please do a review when you get them, I know I'll regret not buying them!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I called customer service and got the extra 30 AND free shipping. I was like I won't place an order without free shipping. I got the rumpled broadcloth neapolitan print tunic, destroyed 5 inch chino short, and the campo messenger bag. I am pretty exciting. I am supposed to have given up shopping for lent though. Oh well.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Pakcola - I've watched the Harpers go way down in price, go away, popback a couple few times and I figured now was my chance...even with the shipping. I can't say the Crewlade is strong enough for me to pay the original $269 retail. The JC shoes I love I get so much wear out of, so $70 + tax & shipping is fine with me.

PFP - I have seen the Marche in person in the salmon color and it's very striking. I would bet the fawn color is pretty as well. I hope so as it's on its way to me via the last % promo.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Of course I caved. I got the snow gem tee on popback in my size -- of course 2 days ago I won the snow gem tee in a Medium on eBay, grrr, so that one may come up on the exchange on Monday! LOL. I also got a gypsy rose cami in brioght flame. I really wanted it in black but it wasn't in my size. BOOO. I had some lovely strect wool flannel pants in my cart but they disappeared in the middle of my shopping -- arrrgggh!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Heidi! Good score! I'm jealous!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. gigi, those Harpers look so pretty! I have silver Joleys in that kind of crackle metallic, and they are kind of hypnotizing! I liked them so much, I tried out the pearl patent Joleys. LOVED the nudish color, but had to return due to the satin toe, which didn't seem to be in the description of the shoe. There were already threads coming out, and I know there's no way I wouldn't tear or stain the heck out of them so back they went. I'm glad you found a keeper!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Eva, good for you! Way to shop! And good for JC for listening to the customer, that is how the promo should be running, anyway, IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  41. And Heidi, good shopping to you too! A virtual tip of the hat to JCAs today!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Can anyone give me advice on the sizing of the Terra Paisley Shift Dress (item #17845)? I am between sizes in J Crew and am looking to buy this dress, but don't know if the smaller size will work. Any opinions/advice would be much appreciated!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Pauline - You can see the terra paisley dress on Simply J Crew and also on Petite Asian Girl

    ReplyDelete
  44. I didn't find anything great in the sale section but I was pretty late to the party today. As for the new arrivals I bought the rose vines perfect shirt and the men's St. James meridian tee to throw on over a bikini. I'll likely pick up some suiting pieces as well but I should take a bit of an inventory first.

  46. Alert! Alert!

I know several JCAs are looking for the Campo de Fiori dress -- I just spotted one recently listed with a starting bid of $99 on eBay.

    Item link: http://cgi.ebay.com/NWT-JCrew-Campo-de-Fiori-sweater-dress-XS_W0QQitemZ180474532887QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_CSA_WC_Dresses?hash=item2a051ed417

    HTHs someone!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Ooh Gigi, do you think you will post a Marche review when it arrives? I'm *very* interested. (:

    ReplyDelete
  48. gigi, I got the metallic Harpers on a popback during the holidays. You will LOVE them! I also picked up a pair in light sage, which to me looks more like robin's egg blue IRL. Both are gorgeous! Looking forward to your review!

BTW, I caved AGAIN...I ordered the berry ink silk dress, cafe capris in white, and destroyed chino shorts in honey brown and white. Here's the most fun part: I still had a bateau top in my cart from the 20% off tees promo - and somehow I still got the sale price and another 30% off that! It wound up being about $20...if it really does arrive in June. :)

  49. Sarah, thanks for posting the item about Ann Taylor shoes. I've been eyeing them for awhile.

I received the crinkle dupioni dress last night in the mail and wore it today to work. At first, I had trouble styling it and looking at Amanda Brooks in the catalog didn't help. We have different body types.

Then I thought about the spirit of the dress and fabric. I pulled my hair back, added some earrings and a flower in my hair. I slightly dorky, but got lots of compliments from my colleagues.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Stacie....thanks so much!! You and gigiofca are awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Has anyone had luck with the $150+ shipping code posted at the top of the JCA site? I am trying to place an order and it won't work for me. I am not about to pay $18.50 shipping...

  53. Kitsmommy, I used the YXP23A code a couple days ago and it worked fine. Did you copy and paste it? If so, try typing the code in manually and see if that works.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Kitsmommy: I tried using it w/ the extra30 code and it wouldn't combine :(

    ReplyDelete
  55. Stacie is correct. The website only allows one promotion code. :(

    ReplyDelete
  56. I tried using the YXP23A code last night (before the 30% code showed up) and it didn't work for me.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I'm having problems placing order! It gave me a message saying there's a problem with my payment method! I had the same issue like last week and the CS told me they were having problems with the credit dept...

    ReplyDelete
  58. I used the free ship code yesterday, copy & paste and it worked for me.

Was hoping for a restock this morning but I don't see anything yet.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I'm considering ordering the Casino pant during this promo and was just wondering if anyone can comment on them...

Also, completely OT...does anyone have a promo code for Land's End???

    ReplyDelete
  60. The restock happened this morning around 5:45am (pacific), not huge, maybe 100 items and stuff went fast. The ultra knit hoodie disappeared from my cart before I was able to check out; however, I was able to snag the stained glass cardigan for $40.
Has anyone seen the ultra knit sepia color IRL? Comments? Thanks

  62. Ana, I have the ultra knit jacket in Sepia. It's very much like the Cognac color jacket. It's a tad brighter than I though it would be, but love it for Spring and Summer. Grab it if you can.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Sarah - thanks so much for sharing info on the Ann Taylor shoes. I went a little overboard but with free shipping - there's nothing to lose. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  64. OT: Has anyone else noticed that J. Crew upped the price on the sunshine peony pencil skirt to $98 from $88? I mean, it's not been on the website for more than a week! So discouraging; I don't like these sorts of business practices.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Does anyone have the Wool-and-rubber riding boots? Would love to hear feedback on it. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Stella, I ordered the casino pant and the martini pant a few promotions ago. I like them both. Good fit, very flattering on. The martini pant is not so shiny and exciting and I think it's day appropriate. The casino pant strikes me as more evening/party.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Desert Flower: Thank you for your comments!

OT: Can anyone comment on the Lands'End Ultra Fit Side Zip No Waist Slim Leg Pant - it kind of reminds me of the Minnie but at a better price point. I'm also wondering about fit. There seems to be a fit 1 and 2; I am a petite 0 with J.Crew and wonder how LE's sizing compares. Sorry to be mentioning other retailers on this site but when I read about LE here, a few weeks ago, it peaked my curiosity. So...I've been checking it out.

  68. Dear xoxo

Thank you for the descriptive and helpful information. I've successfully ordered my coat, and wait with baited breath.

    ReplyDelete
  69. kikki cee - That's awful about the skirt price. I saw it in-store and the ticket says $98, in case anyone is wondering. I thought it was kind of high. I expected to see $88 on it. Oh well. They made a price error on the Bridget dress. I think it was supposed to be $138 and the b&m tickets said $128.

    ReplyDelete
  70. ...oh and I wanted to say pricing issues like this erode trust at times and render the Crewlade ineffective at the times I get really fed up.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Oh wow -- I can't believe they increased the price of the peony skirt. I noticed that it was $98 in the store and $88 online and commented on it on another post.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I preordered the peony skirt and my order confirmation says $88. I saw it the store the other day and didn't think to look at the tag.
