J.Crew Email: FREE SHIPPING. 3 days only.

"Thanks!" to Marietta & Sarah, as well as JBird (in this post), who shared the following promotions and emails J.Crew sent today.
The emails announce that they are offering free shipping on orders of $100+ with promo code FALL, and $150+ with promo code AUTUMN. Both offers expire this Wednesday, 9/16/09.

(I see J.Crew is back to tiered marketing. I wonder if there is another promotional code out there for orders of $175+.)

This might be great timing with new arrivals. As mentioned in the September 3rd "New Arrivals Expected at J.Crew Soon {wahoo!}" post, the latest arrivals are expected to hit stores this week (on September 15th). So I am thinking that new arrivals will be available online tomorrow or Wednesday too. :)

Are you planning to use this new promotional code? Do you think new arrivals will be available online this week? :)

  1. I got excited for a minute...thinking it was free shipping no minimum! A girl can dream, right? Oh, the good ole days!

  2. Use the code "FALL" for FS on $100 purchase!

  3. I agree! I'm looking at a button-up shirt for $59.99 and with shipping and tax, it's $75! Ridiculous.

  4. Alexis - I just forwarded you another email that I received from my other email account, with a $100 minimum (FALL), as jbird also states.

  5. I would like to use it online, but I feel like sizing is so crazy lately that I need to try on as much as possible IRL. I hate to order two of everything and have a lot of returns.

  6. I hope there will be new arrivals online. I'm pretty bored with what is available at this point. I realize that retailers are playing it safe this season but I'd like to see some J.Crew styles that are not available for a fraction of the price elsewhere. Even Joe Fresh here in Canada has a lot of J.Crew knockoffs from the current season and they are ridiculously cheap, although fairly well-made.

  7. I'm so over these e-mails from J.Crew. So many of us have been more than loyal and I feel like they are giving us nothing in return!

  8. I was at a store last night, and the SA told me they were excpecting 250+ boxes of shipment with plans to rearrange the floors today. So, it looks like tomorrow, 9/15, new items will be out.

  9. I'm planning on using the code, whether or not the new arrivals come... I just used my free shipping code and my rewards card last week but there were a few things I forgot to order then :P

  10. Another paltry offer from J.Crew ... Their continued arrogance in thinking I'm going to pay full price for their items when other retailers are offering incentives is making it easy for me to not shop at J.Crew. That, and this fall roll-out so far has been uninspired, repetitive & yawn-inducing, IMO.

  11. Nice that there is a lower minimum ($100) this time. I won't be using it, but it is surely tempting. Now, if there was a "no minimum" code, I'd be ALL OVER IT. The last time I remember a no min. code was back last summer with the website screwups...remember they gave us a no min. code for all our trouble? But then the website probably crashed... :) Has there been another one since?

  12. OT, but I preordered the spy trench this morning. Per CS, it only comes in Heathered Salmon and will be available on Thursday. It is $365. When I receive this, I will do a quick review.

  13. I hope the new arrivals are online tomorrow...fingers crossed! :)

  14. I would have placed an order today if they'd given us a private sale code--I thought perhaps we'd get an online code just before the new release.

Can anyone comment on experiences with waitlisted items? The peplum jacket is waitlisted in my size so I went ahead and placed an order to secure a slot on the "list," though i doubt that i'll keep if if there isn't an eventual markdown. The only other time I was waitlisted for an item they never received any more of them.

  15. Hexicon,
My experience with being wait listed ended some six months after placing the order with an e-mail informing me that "too bad, the item is no longer available." Gee thanks, j.crew.

In retrospect it was a blessing, however, as it saved me from purchasing one of the awful-quality dream popovers.

  16. Ooh, perfect timing! I was just about to send off an order for over $100...

  17. I appreciate this offer, but I'm still holding out for good discount + free shipping.

  18. Has anyone heard from Alicia/Likelybadger?
I purchased from her, she said on sept7 she would email me when she shipped. That was the last I heard. Emailed her yesterday and still haven't heard. Advice?

  19. MCC, I'm with you. I always end up over-ordering (due to sizing) and then doing the returns. I straddle between the petite and the regular sizes so sometimes I have to order both! Sometimes its just a pain but the free shipping codes make it easier.

My nearest B&M stores don't always carry what I want so I end up purchasing more from online than in the actual store.

I can't wait to see the new items when they come out. I haven't bought much lately in recent months so I'm excited to see what's new.

  20. Hi Dina,
I had a great experince with Alicia/Likely Badger last week - and I've seen a couple of other JCAs post that they have too... so I wouldn't worry. Maybe a shipping delay with last weeks holiday - or maybe she was out of town. She's also selling a lot of stuff, so she might be backed up. I'm sure she will get back to you soon! (fingers crossed).

  21. Dina, oh no! She's in the middle of moving so I would give her the benefit of the doubt. I hope she gets back to you soon.

  22. The $100.00 code will not last long, I plan to use it, I would like to wait for the new arrivals.

CS told me Thurs the website will be updated this Thurs, however she also went on to say the cat. will be effective only on Thurs. too, contradicting what has been reported here that it is 15th, so I am still hoping for tomorrow.

  23. Stopped into B&M at lunch; they have some of the new stuff out. They have the b&w patterned miniskirt that many people liked in addition to the black tweed pencil skirt ($128). It was a great quality tweed. A bunch of new embellished tees, and that new floral silk top in black, barely peach and dusty rose. I was anticipating this top but I tried it on and the flowers were a smooshed, droopy mess. Pass.

  24. A blog I follow, youlookfab.com, has a post today on J Crew. It is an interesting read, as many of the comments are not from those who love J Crew as much as most of us do. However, they pretty much all have the same complaints and issues as we do.

  25. BTW...

Stopped into my B&M this afternoon and my SA gave me a copy of the new catalog....I think they'll put them out tomorrow. Happy Browsing!

  26. I may order if the new arrivals show up online before the code expires. However, I would try items on IRL before purchasing. But, I missed out on the first paisley dress, so I'll have to wait and see new items online before making a decision regarding ordering. While I received the $150 email, I am glad to see a smaller amount.

  27. Glad to see this code. I wish they would adopt a flat-rate shipping fee. Then again, their shipping fees do help curb my shopping, which is a good thing. :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. OT question - I'm thinking of purchasing a pair of the perfect leather flats on ebay. Can anyone tell me if they fit TTS or should I SU or SD?

    TIA!

  29. I have a number of items in my shopping cart with J.Crew. Once the new catalog drops I'll decide if these are the must have items or if they've been replaced by new ones.

I'm very pleased to see the carry over of favorites from last fall; makes me feel I made some good choices.

  30. I walked over to the Collection store on Madison Ave today to get the new catalog. They said they didn't have any, weird. They did have some new arrivals out but not all the sizes, when I asked for an XS they said they were still in boxes and couldn't get it for me. I wish they wouldn't put the new stuff out unless they have all the sizes unpacked already. It's just mean! :)
I hope they drop the new online arrivals while the shipping code is still available. I was worried they'd wait until right after it expired to do it.

Also for anyone who loved the Jaspe sweatshirt, a new arrival is the same sweatshirt but in a zip up hoodie style. Very cute!

    ReplyDelete
  31. OMG! Summerilla...did you happen to catch the price of the Jaspe hoodie? Same color and everything? Does it have a front pocket too, or just a hood? I might neeeed this. I missed out on the original Jaspe and have regretted it ever since. I hope it's not a b&m only item...

  32. I wish they would take off final sale, too. I am thisclose to ordering the tiny buds perfect shirt, but I'm usually a 0/2 in the shirts and am reluctant to buy a 4 without trying on or the option to return. Does anyone who has tried that shirt on have any recommendations?

    TIA :)

  33. yeah just bit the bullet and got another pair of the bootcut chinos. for whatever reason theyre only offered online now, so whenever these promos come up i try and snag a pair. plus school has started so i def like to rack up!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I tried to search the Jaspe hoodie online to get the price, other hidden items popped up instead. I wonder about the sizing of the jacket, since the sweatshirt ran big.

  35. by the way guys when i ordered last nite, i was able to use my teacher discount as well as the FALL promo for free shipping no quest asked. double whammy....may as well try....

    ReplyDelete
  36. OT, but has anyone tried the silk taffeta wrap dress? The $99 colors come in a bright turquiose. How is sizing? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Personally, I'm a bit ticked at JC since I'm a card holder but got the $150 promo email, not the $100 level - what's up with the disparity? That on top of the fact that they didn't give me a red card last time even though I had 650+ points banked...Grr. I've switched my loyalties to Anthro and Banana; those two retailers have better customer service, plus BR's got free shipping over $100 all year round. Maybe JC thinks that because I USED spend so much with them I'll bite the bullet at a higher price level with a coupon, but that is just wrong. My extra $ went to other retailers this month, and probably will in the future. The lack of quality control and the final sale just aren't doing it for me - rather, they've turned me off. I'm disenchanted with JC for sure.
