J.Crew Email: 20% off select sweaters. Online only.

"Thanks!" to many of you, including lilaccupcake (in this post) and Marietta, who shared the following news & email J.Crew sent this morning.

The email announces J.Crew's latest promotion: they are offering "20% off select women's sweaters" which is "online... and for a limited time only". According to the email, "it's perfect sweater weather" and I couldn't agree more! To shop Women's sweaters, click here. However, to find the 20% off sale sweaters you have to go to the Final Sale section (click here) and look for the sweaters not ending in .99. Which is kind of weird, because the 20% off sweaters are not final sale.

Some sweaters on sale include:
  • Pleated Lombard Ruffle Cardigan
    (Item 18281; Regular $118.00, now $94.40)
  • Merino Flutter Bow Cardigan
    (Item 17855; Regular $98.00, now $78.40)
  • Cashmere Chérie Crewneck
    (Item 17858; regular $158.00, now $126.40)
  • Dream Cadet Funnelneck Sweater
    (Item 17853; Regular $98.00, now $78.40)
  • Ruffled San Remo Cardigan
    (Item 18283; regular $98.00, now $78.40)
  • Boiled Wool Regalia Sweater-Jacket
    (Item 17655; regular $198.00, now $158.40)
Also, J.Crew used an image from the latest catalog for this email. I am really liking the Patent Campo bag (both the small and large versions)! I think they are so pretty!!! :)

Lastly, as many of you have pointed out, the Velvet Eden Blazer (Item 17306) is now on sale (regular $148.00, now $118.00)! :)

Will you be taking advantage of this offer? Are there any sweaters that you are currently lusting over? If so, please share! Also, do you like the style & material of the new Patent Campo Bag? :)

  1. yes- I was SO excited to find the Lombard cardi in Sweet Guava this morning:) Still a steep price tag @$98, but it is really cute.

  2. J Crew is one of the only retailers I know that always seem to have the "online only" promotions. I would love to buy a few of their new sweaters with a 20% discount, however, I would prefer not to pay their exorbitant shipping costs. Why they don't just allow us to use it in stores leaves me puzzled!

  3. I was hoping for the peekaboo cardigan to be on sale. Boo! Ah well, that just means I'll hold onto my wallet!

  4. I stocked up on a few fall basics (dream cardi and turtleneck)...not a bad deal with the free shipping.

    Twigga, I'm jellis!

  5. I am considering the dream campton vest and the fleur-de-lis cardigan (which is still a little high for me so thinking about it). I noticed, however, when I tried to add the cardigan to my shopping bag that it won't let me. It doesn't give me the "sorry, this item is so popular it sold out" or any other error message. It just won't add to my bag! Maybe it's a sign that I shouldn't get it...

  6. I bought the Lombard in sweet guava too. I couldn't resist since I knew that color wouldn't last. It's already back to just the gray color online now.

  7. Don't forget FALL is still good today for orders over $100

  8. I just had the strangest experience. After clicking through the email to the women's sweater page, I couldn't tell which sweaters were on promotion. So, I added a jackie cardigan to my cart thinking that the promotion price (20% off $59.50) would appear there. Not only did the promotion price NOT show up in the cart, but the jackie came up as costing $62 instead of the $59.50 it says on the item description page. What happened?!

  9. Kikki Cee: For whatever reason, J.Crew put all the 20% off sweaters (that are not final sale) in the final sale section. So I left the link of the sweaters (which is what the email had) but also included a second link to the Sale section. I should clarify it on the post, because I was confused too. :)

  10. Twiga - Congratulations! Major score.

  11. Twiga & MCC:: I echo GigiOfCa, congrats on the sweater!!! :)

Kalimarie: I know what you mean! I like to buy items that I have seen or tried on in person. It's hard to gauge online sometimes. :)

Amy Kelinda: If I know J.Crew, it's that eventually everything goes on sale (and not that much of wait either)! So I see you getting the peekaboo cardi soon! :)

Post Fab Princess: Yey for basics!!! :)

MN2NY: Sorry to hear about the message! I hate when that happens. :(

  12. Well the Maya I've been waiting to see on sale is on sale now but this deal isn't as good as free shipping in my opinion, so the wait continues. I'm also bummed that an item I had in my cart has apparently sold out. Happy hunting to all that take advantage!

  13. Some of the sweaters have alerady sold out, but I am interested in the Jackie's (especially new colors), dream cadet funnel neck sweater, ocelot cardi, and Cambridge cable pocket cardi.

  14. this promo works WITH the free shipping, I think. the reduced price shows up in your cart, you dont need a code. so then if you order $100 worth of stuf you can also use th FALL code and get free shipping.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Yes, this offer DOES work with the free shipping codes! I bought 2 Jackies, the Maya, Cashmere v-neck, and threw in the Juliet midheels too ;) It was chilly coming into work today...got me in the mood for sweaters! :)

    ReplyDelete
  16. To add to the confirmations: FALL free shipping just worked with sweater promo.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I bought a Maya cardigan last week at the store, does anyone know if they will honor a price adjustment if I bring it back, even though the promo is online only? TIA!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Since I'm in West Coast some of the colors and sizes I want are already sold out. I will not take this offer since I purchased some during my S&S event last month.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I won't be taking advantage of this offer, but it sounds as if others have gotten some good deals. Enjoy! :)

    ReplyDelete
  20. Miya:
you should take a print out of the sale price. My B&M honored the online pricing last time, so it's worth a try. HTH

  21. Yeah! So glad so many of the sweaters are included. I only wish the Anton was....

Love the Lombard and congrats to those who scooped up the Sweet Guava. Sweet!

  22. Yes, I ordered the Eden blazer in black and the dream crewneck in heather hydrangea. I couldn't resist!

  23. Sorry to be OT, but does anyone know if the Banana Republic card holders' event for 40% off today and tomorrow requires a coupon/email? I can't remember, and I deleted my email. If you know and/or could forward me an email, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks! love2shop4bags AT yahoo DOT com.

  24. Never mind about BR...just found my postcard stashed away.

  25. Nice! I'm totally stocking up on Jackies.

Also, can someone tell me if I am losing my mind or not? I swear that yesterday the tissue beaded medallion tee (the v-neck one) was in the final sale section and today it's back to full price. Am I crazy or did someone else notice it in final sale recently?

  26. anyone else having trouble with the J.Crew website today? My browser keeps saying it cannot find ther server, but every other website works.

  27. Ah, lovely! Thanks jcrewlover, Sarah and SE Mom!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I bought the Dream Cadet sweater in both colors!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Kristin-I did notice the tee in final sale too. Although, I only noticed that there was black on sale...the other 2 colors (buff pink and graphite) weren't. Not sure what's up with this...

  30. I picked up the ocelot and lombard cardigans with the promo, plus free shipping coupon. I hope I like the lombard as much as others seem to....

  31. The sweater I want is not even online yet so the promo will definitely not apply, saw it in the B&M last weekend, don't know the name but it was $85. and a long V-Neck Cardigan. Very nice and I wanted it in the dark grey in a large to wear over a shirt and jeans but they were already sold out. The sweater looked really good.

Off topic, I ordered both the Jules pearlized patent flats and the Jules pearlized patent heels. They are both really cute - I would say the toe portion on the heels are "slightly" cuter, in case anyone is thinking of ordering them. Pricey but they are cute.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Oh great -- thanks for the heads-up!

I've been eyeing some of the Cambridge cable sweaters but have hesitated to order them because they don't come in petite. Does anyone have any thoughts about how they'd fit someone with short arms and a petite-proportioned torso?

    TIA!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Was in B&M tonloine return and they would not match the online promo (no shocker, but for heaven's sake, don't you think they'd want my business?)

    ReplyDelete
  34. I went shopping at my B&M store at lunch.

I finally picked up one of the merino v-necks with the chiffon trim. It is very pretty and fit me much better than the cardigan. I just wish they had a better color selection.

The black and white tweed skirt is lovely in person, but I didn't even try it on. I am very slender, but pear shaped and this kind of chunky texture never works for me. Also, it is too heavy for Florida. I also passed on the ivory and black swirled skirt (too short) and the paisley shirt. The shirt is lovely, but washes me out. I noticed that the have the black and white silk skirt in the window styled with a blue perfect fit shirt and black jacket. It is a very pretty look, and I would never have thought to have tried that type of combo on my own.

The cashmere crews were on secret sale for $99. I tried one but I really do not like the rolled hem. There was no sale of the cardigans, but they have a lovely charcoal gray (not heathered) that I do not see online.

    ReplyDelete
  35. No, I won't. I am saving all my $$ to buy Scottish Cashmere this season. It's MUCH better than JCrew's, way thicker and no pilling.

    ReplyDelete
  36. kitsmommy Thanks for the update I wish they had put the cardigans on sale, the short waist on them is best for me.

I know that grey they have in the stores, a couple of years ago it was called "Smoke". I find it a really hard color to wear and I have at least a couple of them. It's a brownish grey instead of true grey. I think I've only worn them only a couple of times because of that.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I wish they'd put the Cashmere V-neck on sale, but I was glad to see the Dream Wrap (which my store ran out of weeks ago) marked down.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Laura,

The length on the cardigans is really good on me too. I hope they go one sale for $99 soon.

I tried the charcoal color with several things in the store and it looked great with everything I put it with. I tried it with a blue perfect shirt, the new paisley blouse (still didn't save the blouse), a white shirt, and an ivory francis cami. I really liked the color as it was a very pretty charcoal, but without the heathering that can make gray look like a sweatshirt. This color has a bluish cast this year. The only thing that would hold me back is that DH will tell me it looks like faded black (and the $158 price tag) ;)

  39. Gata, where do you get your scottish cashmere?

    ReplyDelete
  40. I checked out the promo sweaters but didn't see anything interesting but I'm not really into sweater mode just yet. Interesting to see the bright blue skirt with the turtle in the promo email. I got this in the double-serge last year and totally love it. Bought the grey and purple pencils from the last rollout and now looking forward to some new tweed skirts with the next rollout.

  41. MN2NY, I am having the same exact problem as you - I'm trying to add a couple of sweaters into my shopping bag, but when I click on the button, it's almost as if it does not exist because it doesn't load a new page or show my shopping bag. Did anyone figure this bug out? Thanks so much!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Gata,
I agree. I would NEVER buy another Jcrew cashmere sweater! The quality is so poor. (Who cares about the colors when they pill and are so thin!) I would rather have a nice basic, thick non-pilling cashmere sweater anyday. Quality over quantity here!

    ReplyDelete
  43. if you order with the phone and you have a valid student email id.. the SAs on the phone are honoring both i ended up getting an extra 10$ of the dream v neck (it was 59.40 .. got it for 50$) plus the free shipping since i did an exchange... not bad eh?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Totally OT, (but hoping to reach the $100 free shipping minimum), does anyone have anything to say about J Crew tights? I'm eyeing the wool-blend rib tights...

    ReplyDelete
  45. When it comes to J.Crew cashmere, I feel like Scarlett O'Hara when she vows never again to go hungry, fist shaking at the sky.

Count me among the fans of Scottish cashmere. I have a sweater I bought in Edinburgh four years ago that still looks fantastic. My j.crew cashmere sweaters from LAST WINTER look like fuzzballs.

    ReplyDelete
  46. La Belle Helene: I have a 2009 cashmere and I cannot tell the difference in quality from last years. I should have sent the sucker back.

    ReplyDelete
  47. jcmama: Thanks for the tip! I brought a printout and the SA complimented me on being so prepared. :) They honored the price adjustment, but I gave it all back (and then some) and bought one of those cute ruffle tanks in ivory (perfect-fit? tank with silky ruffles on the front, comes in ivory, papaya, light blue, navy).

    ReplyDelete
  48. I want to thank all the JCA's who made comments about the cashmere quality. I was very excited about the 20% off and about to buy the ecole cardi. Then I read your comments and remembered my resolve from last winter. No more J Crew Cashmere! I'm going to try really hard to buy quality and if I get to only buy one great sweater it's better than a several that will pill, stretch and bag.

OT but does anyone have experience with Autumn Cashmere? They have some cute things out for fall. How is their quality?

    ReplyDelete
  49. kitsmommy, I went there today to pick up the new catalog and I agree, it's not as brown as the Smoke was, I'm sure it looks great. I wore the Jules Patent flats so I could show a couple of the SAs that had wanted to see them, so funny that even the SAs don't get to see all the Collection items. There were not that many new items in this rollout, they were saying it's all out, but really it didn't seem like that much.

    ReplyDelete
  50. It is funny that the SA's do not see so much of the merchandise. I know my two favorites are always excited to get to see anything I purchase that is collection or online only. They are both about my height, but a little thinner, but I have often taken off a coat or jacket and handed it to them to try.

I enjoyed looking throught the catalog, but there really is very little that is new. And a few of things are just new colors of stuff that was already out.

I still want the bright blue pencil skirt, the Carlin coat in sea salt and I may get one of the boatneck cashmere sweaters, if I can get one on sale. I have been more favorably impressed with the quality of the newer sweaters. They really do look a lot better than the ones I tried on last year. Many of the ones I loved last year looked tired and shopworn from just hanging around the store.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Looked through the promo sweaters and nothing piqued my interest. I do like the size and shape of the smaller campo in the photo, but not so sure about the color or patent finish. May have to take a look IRL.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Did I dream or the mohair souffle cardigan was on promo and now is back to FP? It was in my shopping cart before dinner ad I can swear the price was not $88. Did anyone buy it with the 20%?

    ReplyDelete
  53. Just wondering: if after one season my J.Crew cashmere sweater starts to pill and bag, wouldn’t their excellent Customer Service try to recompensate? Ever happened to anyone?

    ReplyDelete
  54. WOW, the dream cadet funnelneck only has m & l left and the regalia sweater jacket only m. Guess the promo combined with tightened inventory levels worked.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I'd been wanting the Maya cardi so I finally pulled the trigger on that in Sweet Guava xs. I also back ordered the Schoolboy Blazer in navy in a size 4p. I hope I like the fit of the 4p better than the 2.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Yikes, that was a quick promo. So quick that I didn't even have time to take advantage :(

They weren't kidding when they said, "for a limited time only"!

    ReplyDelete
  57. id do ANYTHING for a lombard cardi in guava!! is the color a very faint orange like on the website or is it darker in real life? is it as beautiful as on the website? its very difficult being in Ireland!! :) thanx!!
