  2. That's great news... Hope many will be able to go.

Totally OT - End of Feb. I bought the Canvas Atelier Jacket in Mineral grey & I didn't notice that a button was missing before I left the store. I sent an email to customer service & I still haven't received an email if they found a spare button. I suppose they're still looking for one.

  3. GoldCoastGal,
Get in touch with them asap before all their stock is gone. Phone and ask to speak to a manager if you don't get a good response. Good luck!

  4. They've been really slow to respond to my emails recently too...really slow. Did they change their email address or something?

  5. Is that a new summer jacket on the model in the email?

  6. Thanks for posting this Alexis!

  8. I just got an email saying that my order is on "hold status" and asking me to call them! Is this weird? Shouldn't they be calling or contacting me?

  14. Can anyone give me size advice for the Atelier jacket. I wear a 8 in the Maggie and a 6 in the Maisey. I tried on an 8 in the Atelier and it fit okay, but there was not a 6 to compare sizes. Sometimes the jackets run small in the shoulders.

    Any help would be great.

  15. Hi, Snow,
Thanks for offering to share this coupon! I would very much appreciate receiving it at soylabomba(at)gmail(dot)com. Thanks, and happy shopping!

  18. anon 11:11: Get over yourself.

On Hold- means there is a credit card problem. The Banks are really cracking down.

    ReplyDelete
  19. leaderboys-I sized up and bought a 10 in the Maggie, but took my regular size of an 8 in the Atelier jacket. I have not tried the Maisey jacket. HTH.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Joye,

Yeah, there is a problem with your credit card most likely.......

Why aren't you calling instead of posting on this blog??????

  21. Anon 12PM I wasn't being ugly to anyone. I want to talk about J. Crew, and the new store in Malibu not BR coupons. Meanwhile, has anyone seen the pictures from the red carpet event last night at The Lumber Yard? Fabulous!!!!

  23. i think since the maggie had a heavier lining most sized up. the atelier is boxy and loose and you should be able to take your regular size.

  24. Anony@12:15
Very few people will ever even go to the Malibu store. Who cares.

BR coupons sound great. Thanks for sharing.

In the past Alexis has posted MANY other coupon codes for other stores. (Maybe not recently but A LOT in the past).

IF YOU DON"T LIKE THE POSTS JUST SKIP OVER. Other people really want the BR code esp. since JCrew is offering no extra incentives right now.

  25. Lots of posts were people sized DOWN in the Maggies and it was too big on a lot of people.

So I would get the measurements from CS and not nec. go by what is on the blog unless someone's body type is EXACTLY like yours.

I actually got my usual size 10 in all 3 Maggies I bought. I also have the Atelier in size 10 and the crocodile in size 10.

    ReplyDelete
  26. leaderboys: I think the decision to size up or down in the atelier may turn on how well you can wear an a-line jacket.

I really liked the atelier and sized down to take some of the volume out the jacket. (My PS did the same thing.) The shoulders worked out just fine and both she and I have broader shoulders and some time run into problems with snug shoulders.

If it helps, my Maisey is a 6 and my Maggie is an 8P. My Atelier is a 6.

  27. Who cares about the Red Carpet?

  28. It's easy enough to post the link for the BR coupon, you don't need to collect everyone's email. Here is the Canadian BR coupon for anyone who wants it.

    http://bananarepubliccanada.p.delivery.net/m/p/gap/gcan/brjump.asp?p=20090421_canada_secret_offer_EN.html

And now, back to J.Crew. That photo is from the May catalog, no? It looks familiar but I'm at work so can't go check right now. I think the jacket is a blazer.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I sized UP in the Maggie (it's tight in the shoulder area and upper arm area) and wear my normal size (2) in the Maisey and Atelier jackets. I'd be worried if you sized up in the Atelier jacket it'd be too loose around your torso.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Thanks for the BR post! Sounds like a great deal:)

    ReplyDelete
  31. *Offer valid April 24 - 26, 2009 at Banana Republic Stores in Canada only.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Thanks for all the feedback on the Atelier. That was just the info I was looking for.

    ReplyDelete
  33. The jacket in the picture is new for summer and called the 'artisan blazer', $178. It comes in 2 colors- buff and light pewter. The tank underneath is the sequined georgette tank, $365. (I picked up the new catalog yesterday and the picture is page 25)

I have the maggie and the atelier. I sized down in the atelier - it just has a looser fit. The Maggie is a much more fitted style. The larger size in the atelier didn't look right and when I sized down it looked much better. HTH

  34. So bummed - I went to school in Malibu for 3 yrs and always wanted a JCrew there, and now once I move they open it! If anyone has links to pics of the store/red carpet/whatever I would love to see it.
ps - why are people being so snotty about the malibu opening? some of us westcoasters are excited about things in our neck of the woods.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Thanks for posting Anon 1:44! I have been excited about it and trying to chat on here earlier this morning and everyone is being ugly! Let us not forget that the opening and the coupon are the subject of this post!!!! Just google Lumber Yard Malibu, and you will find photos of the event! Yeah for awesome West Coast friends!!!!

Thanks for posting the link, didn't know you could do that!

And yes I didn't notice but it is just for Canada.

To those who feel that this shouldn't be posted, Alexis has often before posted BR/ON/Gap promos on here. The style is very similar, and we don't all exclusively wear J.Crew.

Also in the past other JCA have graciously offered and sent me BR/ON/Gap promos that I haven't received, so I figured I should return the favour.

    Good Karma to all...

  39. Alexis- There is a Madewell opening at Westfarms in CT in June. Not sure if anyone posted about this already.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Thanks Crewbie! Hopefully I'll get to pick up my catalog tomorrow at the b&m.

  41. I did indicate in my post that it was the Canadian coupon because that's what they send me, living here in Canada and all.

I assume the original poster could also post the U.S. coupon link and was trying to encourage that with my post. Perhaps one of you who received the email from the generous Snow could share the link.

  42. Leaderboys, I tried on the Atelier in size 6 (usual), but it was way big, I had to size down to the 2.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I don't have the Atelier, but I did take my usual size in the Maggie and it fits like a glove.

I hope there are some lovely spring/summer jackets available in the next release.

    ReplyDelete
  44. OT: does anyone have the molten metallic tank in metallic silver khaki? If so, what do you wear with it? Thanks!

  45. anon at 6:28 - really a Madewell in Westfarms? I didn't hear that yet... pretty cool though, I frequent that mall a lot.

  53. Sorry for many postings, but J.Crew created a new site featuring designer collaborations including Barbour, Mackintosh, Adidas, etc. I am not sure whether everyone likes the designers J.Crew chose (I remember Barbour was in many years ago and wouldn’t wear it now…), but the collaboration itself is interesting.

  54. New arrivals online:)

    ReplyDelete
  55. Final Sale is back. I WILL NOT be buying from it at all.

    ReplyDelete
  56. IMHO, Jenna picked the worst of the bunch for "Jenna's Picks" for this particular roll out. I am eager to see the new arrivals at the local B&M before I make a judgment on the new items. And boo to the final sale!
Hey, JCrew, I have an idea...how about celebrating Mother's Day with a % off. I appreciate the notes from the kids (that jcrew.com has featured under their "womens" section) but a % would really be more like it.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Agh, JC, you're so sneaky. The double-serge skirt was incredibly popular in the fall... so they're offering the new cotton version as online only? Ugh.

There are some pretty things in the new arrivals, but for the first time I don't know if I'll be partaking. No matter how lovely the pieces are styled, all I see when I look at JC now is terrible quality at escalating prices. It's overshadowed their lovely designs.

Hope you ladies find a few diamonds in the rough!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Meh the new arrivals are boring, I already have this stuff in my closet, or have purchased elsewhere for less money i.e. Glass Button cardigan, the Gap has similar ones for $20.00 less.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I see a couple new arrivals I like. It's fun to flip through and see the creativity and newness! Still holding out for an extra percent off deal though :)

    ReplyDelete
  60. Meh nothing exciting. I was hoping for a beautiful, interesting new jacket or two but those little cropped things dont work for me. And when are we going to stop with the ORANGE and Godzilla-size necklaces?

I admit I'm a girly girl and not completely over the ruffles thing yet, but it all looks the same, I already have this stuff.

Maybe I have to wait for Fall.
