J.Crew Email: New arrivals. Shop our spring collection. In stores and online.

"Thanks!" to many of you who let us know about J.Crew's latest email. J.Crew is reminding us about their latest Spring Collection, which is now available both online and in their stores.

J.Crew is also letting us know that their Rewards Cards have been mailed out to J.Crew credit card holders and the Rewards Cards are "good until March 15th".

New England got hit with a lot of snow yesterday and today, so I won't be wearing any Spring clothes for awhile... but oh, how I am soooo looking forward to traditional {warm} Spring weather right now. :)

Have you already received your Rewards Card? If so, have you already spent it or planning to spend it? If so, please let us know what items you got or are getting! :)

  1. Quick question; how much do you have to spend and in what span of time to get a rewards card? Are the rewards cards always for the same amount? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  2. Is that really true? You ony have two weeks or less to redeem your Rewards card? That would be crazy.

  3. Rewards cards were mailed late Jan/early Feb. They are just reminding they are almost expired. The new batch will be for money spent Jan 1- Mar 31 and will probably come out late April/early May. They are based on what you spend on your J.Crew card during that quarter. Each 500 you spend gets a 25 dollar reward card.

  4. Ameilia, they mailed out the cards a while back... they're just reminding you to use it before it expires in 2 weeks. I spent my Rewards card a couples weeks backon a new pair of Giraffe Shorts! Totally worth it! :)

  5. there really doesn't seem to be many perks to having a jcrew card.

  6. got my rewards card in mid-feb. and spent it already. got the ringspun cotton rosette tee in shell, the tissue rolling ruffles tank in dark charcoal and the sunbleached applique tee in weathered stone. Love them and wore them all already!

  7. I have to agree with Anon @ 12:48...I do end up getting a rewards card each go 'round, but it seems like I've "deserved" more of a reward than they dole out. I don't spend nearly as much money at the Gap, but they reward as soon as you spend $200...those rewards never expire AND they sometimes offer double rewards when you shop. Maybe I'm just not as savvy a JC shopper as I could be...
btw - I spend my rewards this time on a tissue tank (gray painterly stripe) and gray chinos: I hope they'll be two base pieces for the spring!

  8. it seems to me that shipping charges pretty much eat up the rewards, since it's unlikely during a 3-month period a buyer wouldn't at least pay shipping twice in order to have bought $500 worth of merchandise.

I don't get a rewards card from llbean, but not having to pay shipping either way is what makes me happy. Nordstrom also has better perks for its cardholders, with several promotions for double points.

  9. I did not get mine yet! Can't wait!!!!

  10. Banana Republic - 30% off shoes and handbags - SECRETSALE, can also use code LUXE, and you can also use EXTRA10 for cardholders....now that is a credit card worth having

    ReplyDelete
  11. Having an LLBean VISA is great:

Free shipping on any amount and free monogramming.

I get my totes shipped and monogrammed free--makes a great gift! Plus, you get $10 rewards cards much more easily to apply to your purchases. Really worth it to have one! Excellent perks:)

  12. I still have my rewards card. Holding out and waiting for a sale on the items I want.

  13. So, you have 6-8 weeks to use it. That seems better but like a smaller window of time than I would have thought. They should give you longer.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Has anyone seen the Dazzling Dots pencil skirt in Mint in person? I love it online, and I think I may splurge on it.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Yes, I think the rewards should last for at least 3 months before expiring...maybe even longer..6 months would be ideal:) But I would be happy with 3 months...

  16. TIp. they actually don't "expire" when they're supposed to. JCrew has build in a 14 day grace period after they expire that you can still use it if you ask. I found mine after it expired once and took it to the store... It had been 2 weeks and the manager told me it was widely known that it would ring up and work for 2 weeks past expiration. This is something every store should know. So if you do forget or whatever, always make sure to ask!

  17. Krista.alana- I saw the Dazzling Dots in person, it is gorgeous! Very splurge-worthy.

    ReplyDelete
  18. another tip-my store manager allowed me to use it without using my JC card along with it. It works exactly like a gift card. My guess would be that it actually doesnt really expre either-they just want you to use it by a certain date.

  19. @Anon 1:07 - Gap rewards DO expire, there is just a very, very long window of expiration. I have one that is about to expire at the end of March, and one that won't expire until July.

@Krista Alana - I own the Dazzling Dots skirt and I LOVE it. I can send you some IRL pics if you like. I will tell you that it is not as "minty" as it seems in the pic. I am going to do a review of it on my blog sometime this week!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Thanks limegreenlover and jts! id love to see irl pics, i'll keep checking your blog for the review!

  21. I like several of the new arrivals, but there isn't anything that I feel I *have to have* enough to warrant paying full price...I'll wait for markdowns.

Oh, and no rewards card for me...I don't have a J.Crew Card.

  22. was there an update on the site today?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yes, there was an underwhelming update of less than ten items in the wos. section of the sale. Yippee!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I had been considering getting a JCrew card when they were running the 20% off promotion, but I hesitated since the APR is so high. Could people comment on how/if they get around this, and also on how good the benefits are? Thanks in advance.

    ReplyDelete
  25. You get around it by paying it off in full each month. Not hard to figure out.

    ReplyDelete
  26. JTS, I would also love to see some IRL photos of the dazzling dots skirts. What did you mean, "It is not as minty IRL?" Is the color more blue than green, or...?

    TIA

  27. im having some problems getting on the jcrew.com website. I keep getting the "forbidden" page. Is anyone else experiencing problems? Does anyone know a solution? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I pay my card off each month. I don't carry a balance on any of my credit cards.

I have the Dazzling Dots skirt. I love it and I would agree that it's not as minty in real life. It's more green and the dots are goldish.

  29. Anony@5:05

Unplug your modem and reboot. I have gotten forbidden about 5 times in the past month. I have no idea why and JCrew has been no help even though I sent them my IP address. But I would still email JCrew and let them know. They NEED to know...and also give them your IP address.

    ReplyDelete
  30. P.S. for those getting FORBIDDEN. It is also mentioned on the other website in a seperate post. I think this is great if JCrew is reading the blogs.

Alexis, could we have a poll on how many people are getting the Forbidden message. It is very discouraging. Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  31. i got the metallic mesh flip-flops in silver with mine. :)

    ReplyDelete
  32. @Anon 4:54 - On the website, the skirt appears a very cool, minty green, but in real life, it is more light grass green, I would say. Definitely a pale green, but NOT as a minty as is depicted. I will have a review of the skirt up on my blog this week - it is on the JCA blogroll, and you can also get to it from my bloglist. :)

  33. I JUST signed up for a JCrew card about a week ago, so no rewards for me yet. :-)

OT: I know a lot of you JCAs have the Carrie Coat from winter, and since you are probably still wearing it (like I am!) I made a post showing how I cut off the ties and sewed the stubs down to the collar. I wear it a lot more now that the ties are gone -- I just couldn't "work" them! :-)

I hope other people find it useful!

    ReplyDelete
  34. To the anons getting the "forbidden" message - I've gotten it at least once a day for the last week. My workaround was to use my work VPN to set my computer to a different IP address. It happened most often when I was opening multiple tabs in Firefox (to check the availability of different items to see if they were in stock). Not sure if this has anything to do with it - just curious if J.Crew's servers have added extra protection against people pinging them a bunch of times within a few minutes...

Anyway - someone else had suggested waiting 24 hours and trying the site again. If nothing else, this does also seem to work... HTH!

  35. thanks so much guys!

  36. Has anyone tried on or bought the silk pleated skirt that just came out? It looks gorgeous but I'm wondering about the length and fit.

  37. OT: Did anyone see this interesting article on The Consumerist about this customer who was lied to by J.Crew and basically given thirty free pairs of shoes as compensation?:

    http://consumerist.com/5163079/jcrew-ceo-gives-man-30-shoes-because-they-lied-to-him

not sure if that link is going to work--linking didn't work the last time i tried, so just go to consumerist.com if it doesn't work out.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Anony 8:59 that story seems a little far-fetched with so few details. I'm not familiar with the consumerist, is it a really legit site? I'm not buying it, just because it's on the internet doesn't mean it's true.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Does anyone own a Mendhi graphic tee? Is the print as muted as it appears online? I'd love to hear some reviews.

    TIA

    ReplyDelete
  40. Anon at 8:59- the link works, and I've read different stories on the website, but that story is just so strange and full of holes. Lucky for the guy and his new shoes (I would definitely sell most of them and buy clothes :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. hey, anon @ 9:15:

Yeah, the consumerist is a totally legitimate consumer advocacy site. Their writing can be a little snarky/funny, and that makes them (maybe) seem a little unprofessional, but they are legit. One of the writers is often a guest on radio and talk shows.

Anon at 10: I think the story seems hole-y too. I think maybe the storyteller didn't share the whole story, or something. Maybe the consumerist will follow up.

  42. I tried on the dazzling dot skirt but passed. It's still a bit bright and reminded me a lot of the pembridge dot skirt that I got around the holidays.

I love the Atelier jacket though in the mineral color. It's less boxy than the fiona and I think will be a pretty versatile piece.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I got:
1-the Slub cotton ruffeled scoopneck tee in white. It is super cute, there is little seed beads that match the shirt in the ruffel.
2-the silk garland cami in breeze, very cute but runs big.
3-canvas atelier jacket in grey. Such a cute jacket. I love it and can't wait to wear it. I got the pencil skirt that is yellow and grey print. I have never seen it online just in the stores, anywhoo it matches the jacket and looks fab.
4-My mother got the zebra beaded print tee in grey. I tried it on and it is very cute. Will look so cute under a jacket. I would have bought it but I bought too much other stuff so I just figured I could borrow hers.

I really love J Crew right now and I have a problem and can't stop buying. Please help me!! =P

  44. Rats on Parade,

Waiting did not work for me. I got Forbidden for 3 days straight until my IT hubby got home...to fix it.

I don't own the mendhi graphic tee, but I did see it in the store this weekend. I had been eying it online too but have since taken my sights off of it! IMO, it looks pretty cheap and while it is not quite as muted, it just looked odd since the design was randomly faded in weird spots. Same goes for the Henna tee. I wasn't impressed--HTH! :)

  46. Anon @ 4:51 pm--my post wasn't clear, obviously. Good for you that you are able to pay off the balance every month. I may not be able to do so, which is why I haven't gotten a card yet. I had heard from a SA at my local B&M that it is possible to go into a store and transfer the balance to a Visa, MC, etc., so that you can get the rewards but not pay the exorbitant APR if it takes you more than a month to pay things off. Has anyone had experience with this? Thanks in advance.

    ReplyDelete
  47. HJC: I totally understand you, I'm spending much more money this year than the past year in spring clothes at JCrew (I love spring/summer clothes more than winter clothes). I don't understand all the criticism that sometimes I read here. Like you, I tried the beaded zebra T the past weekend and didn't buy it because I had already bought a lot (more than 200 and 300 the weekend before), but I got back today to get it before it solds out (I'm sure very soon). Sorry, I can't help you!

  48. Another tip for anyone who gets a rewards card:

If you buy an item with your rewards card and return the item you will get a gift card back with the amount of your rewards card on it. This is better because the gift card doesn't expire. It is a slight hassle to return the item but at least you don't have to worry about the rewards card expiring.
