Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to take advantage of the post holiday sales, the additional 20%-30 off sales, or to see some new January/ Resort arrivals in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic! Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. I'm not sure about other stores but i visited the one near my school (charlottesville,va) this afternoon and they still have the additional 30% off all sale items. i bought the sherpa lined goosedown puffer jacket in black for only 37 bucks (post-student discount from 59.99 ticket price)! price online is still 119.99 and black was out of stock long ago. there were also a few puffer vests (brown, green) and some dark gray coat (sorry cant remember the style)

  2. The Fashion Valley store in San Diego still has the 30% off sale items and has a *great* sale section right now... Cashmere turtlenecks in all sizes, a few Cashmere Evas, lots of Merino Portlands in all sizes and colors, and one merino trois rosette tank (S). Several velvet ecoles in various colors in size 6. More shoes and boots than I've ever seen in the sale section at this store, all 6 1/2 and up. Some sequin shells and a leopard sequin tee. A Boucle tweed scarf coat in 6 in bright berry. Also a few Collection pieces... including a Golden Roses coat which I splurged on!

  3. Sam, do you remember any of the shoes? Lulus maybe?

  4. Palo Alto store:

lots of suiting in the sale section
pj pants (pink leopard, some pink dot, snowflake)
NO shoes except one pair of driftwood juliets (6 or 6.5) and silver flats
    red velvet ecoles
    snow leopard shirts (lots)
    metallic phoebe jackets (lots) $99
    some blade candy tees 19.99
a couple of the super120s dresses
quinn camis 19.99 (much cheaper than online)
one berry boucle astrid i think sz6
some smattering of coats - harriet, marie etc. in sz6+
    the grey-pink satin rosette belt
mens' ties on sale for 19.99

didn't check the prices on many items - sale section was quite picked over. they were having 30% though, but final sale.

the "finds" were definitely the Maggie in sz2 and the white sz0 victoria - gotta love the returns! I also returned a grey velvet ecole sz0

  5. I didn't see any Lulus- but I have to admit I didn't look too closely, because I'm a size 6, and all the shoes were 6 1/2 and up. From what I can remember: several pairs of Glenbraes (at least one 7, not sure what else); Alessia patent leather peep toe (ivory, 6.5; dusty rose in a 8 or 9); some driving mocs; some ivory colored jeweled flats (not sure of exact style or size)...

  6. If anyone sees a Lillie in ivory or heather majestic purple (size 0) at their store, can you please put it on hold for me? (or email kathymtaing@yahoo.com)

I am wearing a backbrace for 3 months and need some larger size (for me:) to get through the cold MN winter! Thanks.

  9. Has anyone seen the taffeta Aline skirt in person?

Are the flamingo and turquoise colors obnoxious?

They look pretty online but one never knows IRL! Thanks for any help as final sale is a crap shoot....plus, they are so cheap. Makes me wonder what is wrong with them!

  10. I do plan to visit this weekend to return a couple of things...trying to hold off on purchasing until the next rollout, though. ;)

  12. Can anyone tell me if any of the retail stores in Arizona carry shoes?

    ReplyDelete
  13. cece:
you need to call and talk to a manager, they can track gift cards. JC keeps track of everything, just be persistent and they will figure out their mistake.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Anon@4:45, IMO, the flamingo looks like vomit. Maybe post-strawberry daiquiri vomit. The turquoise is better. But it's still reminiscent of plastic because it's pretty shiny.

  15. Does anyone own the Francie skirt? How does it fit? How is the fabric? Nice or cheap looking?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Penny -

The Arizona store that carries shoes is Scottsdale Kierland. Chandler is an all women's store but I don't recall ever seeing shoes there.

I am not sure about Tucson. Hope that helps.

  21. I'm thinking of purchasing the bronzed ochre double serge pencil skirt in Petite 0. Can anyone tell me if this skirt runs big in the petite sizes? I've always found JCrew sizing on pants & skirt to run big but don't want to go wrong as it's final sale. I am 5'1", 105 lbs with 28" waist & narrow hips. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Danielle,
I have two of the Francie skirts and love them! The fit is TTS, hits me just at the knee (I'm 5'4"). The material is thick and super soft. I think you'll be happy!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Has anyone seen the brewster boots in their store? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  24. SCrew - Thanks for the info. I usually size up in pencil skirts (so it is not too tight on my behind), but usually not with any other JC skirts. I am debating on whether or not to size up with Francie. Any insight?

(Stupid FS...makes me nervous to order because of fit!)

    ReplyDelete
  25. Sorry, "SC Crew" - typing too fast & left out the first "C"

    ReplyDelete
  26. Wow for those of you lucky shoppers... 100 jewelry items (including 28 jenna bracelets), storybook charm bracelet, calfskin jamies in all colors, cashmere peyton dresses, soho dresses, etc.

I guess the backlash of returns finally hit J. Crew! It's Spring line but there's a full inventory of fall/winter clothes!

Well I'm glad I purchased. Hope everything comes.

  28. hey guys. if you purchase in store through the red phone will they apply the 30% off discount to your order?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Nope. Red phone is for full price, not sale items. I tried. =(

    ReplyDelete
  30. OT: Is there a way to search the comments section of this blog? I need reviews on a few items and I'm sure they have been talked about. For instance Hammered Silk Tank - is it TTS. Thanks

  31. For anyone who was looking, the Serengeti clutch just popped up online - it shows 26 in inventory, but who knows how accurate that is. Good luck!

  32. Just a quick review, I got my final sale shipment yesterday that included the Double Serge Pencil skirt and Pintuck Jersey Scoopneck tee. (I don't have a store by me so I can't try these items on before I order).

the double serge in my normal size looks nothing like it does on the model. It isn't just J.Crew I've noticed several stores labeling straight or a-line skirts as pencil skirts. Not the same.

The size down fits better, if a little tight on my bum, but husband gave it a thumbs up so it is staying;) I gave the other size to my sister.

The pintuck jersey top is a mess. I'm aggravated enough to want to complain to J.Crew about the fit of this top.

It fits fine at the shoulders, but the inside edging of the neckline doesn't want to lay flat and keeps popping out. From there the body of this top is a big billowing tent, with no structure. The fabric is extremely drapey and see through in the natural color.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Cece--

The same thing happened to me when they cancelled an item in one of my orders (they ended up putting most of the remaining items on my cc and only charging $20 to my $200 gift card). I pulled the gift card number from my original order confirmation email and used the balance in a B&M with just that info. They didn't act like it was a big deal at all. Online told me that I couldn't use it there because I didn't still have the PIN from the card.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Penny, the Tucson store carries a limited selection of shoes, mostly flats and espadrilles in the summer.

  35. Help! Which one...Madeline w/ thinsulate in Bright Berry or Plaza coat in Ivory with Theremore? I need to breakdown and order (was waiting for extra % off to no avail), live in Maryland, visiting NYC next week and know I need a warmer coat. I am also quite well endowed up top so I am going to try to call CS to see if they can give me exact bust measurements.

Anyone used extra student discount on phone at store? One SA they would honor over phone at store but afraid she won't be there when I go in to buy. Free ship w/ 100 in store too?

Thanks, I am new to this whole j crew obsession.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Anon 9:23 I agree completely on the "pencil" skirt sz down one and wear it higher on waist like a "pencil" skirt should be worn. Also the pintuck shirt is a MESS IMO as well. I have thin arms and it was tight there, fit in shoulder (which are broad) and tight under armpit but body is billowy--I agree the natural color is see through and they just fit bad IM experience.

Snagged the serengeti clutch and now 2 or 3 things canceled are supposedly on their way. Haven't gotten confirmation on the order from yesterday and that doesn't make me feel too good as it was AM :(

    ReplyDelete
  37. Anonymous January 9, 2009 9:23 AM:

The pintucks had been hanging in the FS section of my B&M for a long time, & down to $9.99 plus discounts. It looked like an old navy item at the store. Just letting you know it was a no-go to me too.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Michelle - I would vote for the Madelaine Coat. I bought the Plaza coat and returned it. The plaza is quite warm, but it was kind of shapeless. It made me look tent like even in a 4

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'm one of those who has a load of orders to return, from flat glenbrae's (3 pair-ouch$) to 9.99 tissue tops. Last time I returned at B&M they hung items like jeans in FS & returned delicate items like Crawford tops to the warehouse. All my items now are going to the warehouse directly from me. Look for a bigger winter item selection over the next month & definitely into Feb.!

I wonder if JC will re-visit their length of return policy. If I was a store I'd make it 30 days, and maybe an exception for out of country customers. :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Concur that the sale section has had a nice refresh, if you will. I grabbed the berry trim astrid in heather charcoal. Its available only in size 4. lucky me!

  41. Anonymous 9:23: Thank you for review of the double serge pencil skirt. I'll keep my fingers crossed that the one I ordered will fit; if not, I'll be looking to trade it!

Thanks for the tip about the pencil really being straight, not tapered in at the hem like a "pencil skirt" description implies. I looked at the pics and interestingly enough, the bronzed ochre looks tapered at the hem, but the pic of the persimmon looks like a straight skirt and the ivory looks slightly A-line! Hopefully the fit can be remedied relatively easily by a seamstress. At this price I thought it's worth a try... I love the bronzed ochre color (I have it in a pair of chino shorts); it goes with so many colors, surprisingly!

  42. I went to my local store the other day and didn't see much out. Maybe I'll visit this weekend, just to look.

    ReplyDelete
  43. anon @ 4:45:
I don't agree with the previous poster that desrcibed the flamingo skirt as "vomit". At least, I've never vomited that color! :) If you like pink, it is a pretty color; I would describe as a saturated bubble gum color.

    Danielle:
I needed the same size Francie as I did the double serge. While it was described as an a-line, I didn't find it nearly as a-line as the taffeta skirts, so I couldn't go down like I could in the taffeta and belles.

    anon @ 9:06:
Even if the red phone CS won't honor the additional in-store percent off, I've always been able to get them to honor the store price, even on sale items if the store is out of your size. Just ask a SA to make the call with you as they need to verify the price.

    HTH!

  44. Bugpin: I'm so glad you managed to snag a Serengeti clutch! I looked through a couple posts trying to find your email address to let you know about them (in case you didn't check the blog this morning) but couldn't find it anywhere! I hope it actually makes it to you :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. I agree with smarty about the color of the A-line taffeta skirt - bubble gum is a good description. :0
It looks dark in the web picture.

  46. Anon 8:17-
I have the double serge in 2p and find that it runs TTS. I would not size down, although you obviously can't if you are planning on ordering a 0p. Shannon has a review and a pic on her blog of the skirt if you want to see it on a real person instead of a model: http://jcrewreviews.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2008-12-26T15%3A22%3A00-08%3A00&max-results=6

You can always call CS and tell them you are unsure of the fit. They will make a note on your account and if it doesn’t fit you can return it.

    HTH

  47. What is the deal with J.Crew's waitlisting? I ordered a M's zip-up sweater as a gift shortly after Xmas with an expected ship date on 1/09/09. J.Crew "authorizes" my gift card pymt -- which is to say that the payment amount (credit) has been deducted -- so I'm stuck there. Now, I find that this order may not even ship and stuck in limbo.

Does J.Crew make a practice of 'over-booking' orders to inventory? why even have a 'waitlist' then if it's not likely you'll even get the item? They need to get on the ball -- in this economy, that's a POOR, ludicrously managed move on J.Crew. Get with it Mr. Drexler, before you lose more customers due to poorly run operations. you lost my vote.

  49. I am so annoyed w/ J Crew. I placed an order on Wed with the free shipping code. I got an email last night that a shirt I had ordered was out of stock. Then this morning I got on the website only to notice that it was back in stock. I called CS and told them that I wanted to reorder the shirt and wanted free shipping on the order b/c had they have sent me my shirt with the other order I would not have had to pay for shipping but now that I was reordering I didn't meet the required minimum for the code. They told me I couldn't have free shipping!!! I was so pissed I told her to forget about the order.
I can't believe it. I have spent close to $1500 in the last 2 months and this is what I get for being a loyal cusotmer.

  55. South Coast Plaza (Orange County, CA) was pretty picked over in the final sale clothing area... however there were some cute shoes (Juliet, Claudia and Caroline). I got a pair of Claudia's in the metallic sherbert for about $40 after discounts! Sizes were mostly 8-10s. Oh, and they price matched the gold lame skirt (online for $69.99) and with the additional final sale discount it was about $40 as well - in-store it rings up at $99! Lots of sizes 4+ left in that.

I might be in the minority on this one (hopefully others will weigh in), but I found the cashmere t-neck to run TTS. I know some people said to size down in various cashmere this year, but I needed my regular M in this one. In that size, it is not particularly fitted, but does have a "tailored" shape to it. If it helps (someone else asked us to do this), I am pear-shaped, 5'5", JC 6/8 top and JC 10/12 bottom and, as I said, I got a M. I've only worn it once, for a long day, and it didn't pill (yet?!). It's a very cozy sweater. HTH!

  60. Anon @ 4:45am: I have the taffeta skirt in bright aqua. It's not obnoxiously bright, but it is bright. I am a fair blonde/blue eyes and I think it will work for me if I get just a little color. I definitely won't break it out until my legs see a little sun. I think with a neutral top and some fun, colorful peeptoes it will be cute in the late spring/summer. Worth the $19.99, but I would have paid near the full price. Oh, and it runs TTS with the other J Crew skirts I own. I hope that helps!

I have the hammered silk tank. I usually wear a 2/4, s/xs depending on the top and fit. I got my tank in a 2 and it fit just fine. It flows away and fits loose around your tummy so depending on your shaped (flat abs/not flat) the tank won't hug in the wrong places. It is pretty tts but if i had gotten a 4 it would have been way to big. Hope this helps, you'll love it if u end up getting it!

  68. The downtown Seattle store has really been downsized, shrinking to about half their former footprint. I can't complain too much. . . got some great bargains. High heel flare jeans for $18 after final sale and teacher discount, same price for luxe cords, and the snow leopard Harlow for $30. The SA told me that construction workers upstairs broke a pipe and ruined all their cashmere.

They still had a pretty good selection of winter coats at a real bargain, but for other than coats, I'd try one of the other Seattle area stores.

  72. Julie,

I have a pair of size 8 Tall flannel lined chinos from Holiday 2004. They are light khaki and have a cute light green flower print on the flannel. Recognizing how JCrew's sizing has changed since then (IE an 8 then is smaller than an 8 now) these might not be big enough for what you want. I wore them probably 5 times and they have just been sitting in my underbed storage box for a couple years! If you're interested, I just found a smudge of dust on them so I have to wash them but e-mail me.

  84. Oh Gia-I couldn't BELIEVE I saw that clutch today--still there at 10am. I LOVE mine! Keep watching the site closely maybe you will snag it and I will keep eyes peeled for you. Great clutch!

O/T-how quickly are people getting order confirm--I am fearing the worst with my safari juliets from yesterday--no confirm and such a small quantity.

Kate, did you get them and did you get confirmation yet? I ordered them around mid-morning and nothing noted anywhere yet-no emails. Does it sound like I am doomed? Seems whenever I do not get an email confirm right away--the item gets canceled.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Cece:
Re GC redemption. Similar situation happened to me awhile back. An item was canceled and the GC amount was not applied to the order therefore the whole amount was charged to my CC. JCrew does track their GC use so they were able to credit my CC and and just deduct the amount from my GC. Call again during the daytime. Sometimes the CSR's that work at nighttime are as helpful. You can find the GC number in your account history. Even if not they can look it up under your order. They should be able to do all this via phone. hth

  89. dani_california: As for trying to search the "Comments" sections of the different posts on this blog (you can also use it for other websites too), you can type whatever you're searching for into your Google search bar (e.g. "hammered silk tank") and then also type in "site:jcrewaficionada.blogspot.com". This allows Google to search in only this particular site.

To use this function on other sites, just change the site name.

  92. Anon@11.21: Congrats on a sweet deal! I have the Victoria cami in four colors: Cerise (orange), pink, navy, and polka dot, and I have to say that the cerise is my fave color. I don't find it hard to wear. It goes well with gray, navy and ochre. Somehow the collar is stiffer compared to the other colors, and stands up better.

I'm sorry to hear about your unsuccessful call, but I do appreciate your posting. I was at the SD store on Tuesday and thought the sale section was very picked over (maybe 5-6 cashmere t-necks, 1-2 Claudia shoes to be specific). I was surprised when I saw Sam's post and thought maybe there had been a huge amount of returns in the last two days! So, thank you for saving me a trip. If you post what you're looking for, everyone here is really nice about keeping an eye out. Good luck!

Also - RE: order to confirmation time... I placed an order early this morning and got a confirmation in about an hour. 101. Sometime I am amazed at how some try to position themselves as stylists in residence and try to give advice. I think victoria in cerise is the prettiest color, not hard to wear and it looks great with a lot of colors INCLUDING black. That haloween effect is the dumbest thing I ever heard.

Please re-read and re-think your nasty remarks. BTW-sorry if you like Halloween colors-that is just my opinion and you are welcome to look like you are dressed for the holiday if you like.

Apparently you didn't see my post as being helpful but harmful for some reason??

"As others here have noted, I happened upon a Victoria ruffle cami in my local B&M last night. It was a bright orange and marked down to $59.99 with an additional 30% off. Since it was magically my size, I had to scoop it up based on the reviews here. While not a neutral, I hope to make it work. At $41, I figured the risk was worth it!

I think both burnt siena and dark cloud are beautiful. I wanted it in Burnt Sienna so much but it was more expensive compare to other colors. I bought my dark cloud for less than $200 with Xmas sales because it was a store return. I love the color and I wear it a lot! I wish I could own this bag in all colors including metallic and yellow, and pink but i can't. I am looking at burnt sienna on the website and sitting on my hands to prevent me from odering. I bought a LV bag 2 weeks ago and I think I am done bag shopping for a while. I would say see what color will go better with your outfits and then decide. HTH

  133. Wow, Bug Pin. I posted about the Victoria ruffle cami and was shocked to just read the backlash. I'm not sure which previous post you are referring to, but in absolutely no way was I trying to OFFEND anyone! By "risking" it, I just meant that I wasn't sure if the color was a perfect fit for my skintone. But I was so excited to see a reduced Victoria that I wanted to try it for that reason alone. Makes me wish I knew what you wrote prior that caused you to get on the defensive. If anything, I thought it a compliment to other JCA's for their identifying a great find in Victoria- a piece I may have otherwise overlooked. Again, the color was the only reason I was worried. No, I would never piece the orange with black. I understand holiday colors. This was the "risk" persay for me, that sometimes I have a hard time styling certain pieces and with this being "final sale," I had to make a fast decision. My post was written with no ill will and I'm still... wow. I feel like I'm back in high school suddenly... 12 years later. Next time feel free to ask for clarification because I think it was pretty uncalled for this time. Find another way to channel that negative energy, please.

  134. Hi Foxeee, I *have* the Jamie bag in black (and dark cloud) so I can definitely vouch that it does exist. :)

Early this morning ('round 5:30am/6am) or so, they had the whole range of colors available on the website.

Also for FFM who'd asked awhile back....I personally LOVE my Jamie bags - they're a bit on the big side for me, but the leather is so luxurious! Much more so than any other J.Crew bag I've had in the past. I like the smooth leather better than the pebbled leather (ala Oslo) - but that's just personal preference. Other have mentioned they do tend to scratch fairly easily, but they keep their structure well and they look so stylish. Love it love it! :)

    ReplyDelete
  135. JBIRD: I've read that metallic Jamie does not wear well. I saw it in real life and I would recommend regular Jamie over metallic. I want metallic myself but I know I cannot own this bag in all colors.

However, a few times I have tried to buy something only to be told I cannot because it is an online item, not a store item therefore they cannot ring it up. "Kate, did you get them and did you get confirmation yet? I ordered them around mid-morning and nothing noted anywhere yet-no emails. Does it sound like I am doomed? Seems whenever I do not get an email confirm right away--the item gets canceled."

This is from the other Kate "lcsmom" (the one you helped out with the awesome red card) - I placed an order yesterday and upgraded to overnight. I never got an email confirmation. Did however get a notice that two of the items got canceled (one of them is back up today). I am afraid to even try to order it at this point. It said it shipped, no tracking number. We will see if it arrives today and what they finally charge me for :) So there might be some hope.

  153. Anon @ 12:59 - don't be too harsh about the Hallowe'en comment. On some people, the color may look much more orange than it does on you and a lot of people don't look really good in black either. The combination may be fine for you, but for others, not so much.

  158. I can't believe how narrow minded some people are. Because of one, and mind it, the most retarded holiday ever, you could never wear orange and black together? Even if it looks great together? Are you listing to yourself?

I honestly never heard anything as dumb as this. Only people who lack any self-confidence or confidence in their style for that matter would say anything like that. I think this ranks as high on my "stupid rule" list as "dont wear white after labor day". For those fearing looking like haloween or any other holiday I would suggest reviewing all color combinations on empire state building thoughout the year - I am sure it would make your "dont wear those colors together" list even longer. I also think that according to this rule anyone who wears red white and blue should burn in fashion hell forever!

  160. boyfriend vs. schoolgirl cardis: very similar v neck shape overall. Boyfriend is slightly longer and slightly less formfitting, schoolgirl is more shrunken and has front bottom pockets. I also bought a men's v neck cardi in purple with the pre holiday discount for the more oversized (and way less expensive) style. Full disclosure: I find that lighter colors usually, and white and ivory ALWAYS are see through, so I've been concentrating on buying darker colors lately. I got a good deal on an ivory schoolgirl last year, and I just don't wear it as much as other sweaters because of the color- not the style. HTH!

  167. Regarding cancelled orders: I have been told by CS that an order gets cancelled at the warehouse level, once an associate goes to "pick" the order. Normally, you would get an email confirmation once your order goes to "Submitted" status. Once it's "Released", it goes to the warehouse. If the "picker" finds the item, then it gets shipped. If not, you get the lovely "Cancelled" email. My CS told me that those emails go out from the warehouse.

I had an item cancelled twice and it still showed up on the website. The CS was as frustrated as I was. She said their systems are not connected. Keep an eye on your "My Account" page. Once your order has been "released", I would think you would get a "Cancelled" email within 24-48 hours if the item was not in the warehouse. HTH!

last night I was in our store, and wanted to buy a new skirt - I tried on the size they had, and it fit, but I wanted to size up so it would sit lower on my waist. They helped me order the next size (they were out of it) and asked if there was anything else I wanted. I listed the items I knew were in my shopping cart online, and they let me order them over the phone with the discount and my educ. discount, as well as free shipping.

    amazing.

  173. I'm actually a big fan of orange and dark brown together (or any fall tones). Don't worry, you will find uses for that cerise Victoria!

As for the gift card issue, I've learned to hang on to my gift cards for a while after using them. A couple of times now, I've placed orders that were part CC/part GC. If anything was cancelled, or if I returned anything, the credit always went back to the GC. Rude surprise if you hadn't held on to it. But my computer lets me cheat a little -- it remembers the numbers I type in on the payment page. If yours is the same, you may be able to start entering the GC number (mine have all started with 6006) on the payment page, and then guess on the pin number starting with 1 and working your way up and see if your computer remembers the right pin. Good luck!

  174. It's not about winning or losing. Person A thinks black and orange looks goofy together. Person B thinks they look great together. Each should be allowed to express her opinion. We, the people, should have evolved big enough brains by now that we can handle both concepts at the same time without our heads exploding. We then accept, reject or adapt these opinions as fits our particular lifestyle, personal style, coloring, body shape or what have you.

Not Taking It Personally. Try it! It's good for the blood pressure!

I was going to have it shipped, which would cost $20, also what I would pay to park near that store. Ladies, do you think the velvet Ecole could be worn any season as long as it's not a typically seasonal color? I'm wondering if I could pull off the navy on a cool spring evening.

  190. OT: Question for those of you who have Personal Shoppers:

As of about a week ago I just got my own PS (online). She seems very willing to help - I'm just curious what exactly her responsibilities are? Other than just placing an order for you....

Will they tell you about upcoming sales? What else can they help with? I'm tempted to send an email to ask a few questions about new merchandise, when's the next promo going to be, etc., but I'm wondering if she's even allowed to divulge that sort of info...

    TIA!

  191. My JCrew in Mission Viejo was picked very clean. Nothing of excitement. However I did notice that they are cutting their shorts big this year. The gray bermuda shorts are huge! I tried the gray and a pair of chambray shorts that were the same length, same size but fit completely differently. THe Chambray was tts while the gray were huge. I talked with the sales associate and she noticed that the pants and shorts were looking larger than normal. Watch those sizes!

  192. anon 4:52 - Could it be the size was incorrectly marked on the Grey shorts?

  193. I had to go in today to pick up my wool crepe pants that had been tailored. They gave me a very nice garment bag and said they are now trying to give those instead of plastic as we are more likely to use them and it is better for the environment. I love it. I am going to put my wool crepe jacket and skirt in there as well. I also brought in a J.Crew bag to reuse as this was one of my New Year's resolutions.
I also broke down and bought one last Portland in navy for $20 - $29.99 online price match less 30%. I now have three of them - black, melon and navy - and have all the colors I need including other cardigans to transition through Spring. Of course I say that, but you never know with me and cardigans :)

  194. Anon at 4:50 -- yes, I think you can safely wear the velvet École in any season. I think the navy one would look great over many summer items, such as t-shirts and sleeveless items, such as this one.

  195. I am going to go ahead an apologize for even being sucked in and creating the hu-bub on here today. I should have ignored and was too quick to react--it's natural.

We all know that we like certain colors together, some don't mind the Halloween thing and others don't mind say..pink and red..like Valentines Day. Whatever, I just wanted to apologize for turning the power over to this anon.

Anon who bought the cerise Victoria, do not worry about the misunderstanding. I LOVE my Victorias SO much and it wouldn't matter what color I had--they are all beautiful and will be great year-round:) Enjoy!
