J.Crew Stores: Take Additional 30-40% Off Final Sale

A big "thank you!" to all the great members of the blog who were kind enough to share with us that their local J.Crew stores are offering an additional 30-40% off the final sale.

The following is just some of the stores & the percent off:
  • 40% off final sale at the Summit in Birmingham, AL
("thanks!" to Anon at 11:38 PM in this post)
  • 40% off final sale at the St Louis, MO store
("thanks!" to Anon at 12:22 AM in this post)
  • 40% off final sale at the Pleasanton, CA store
("thanks!" to gigiofca in this post)
  • 40% off the sale at the Rockaway, NJ store
("thanks!" to Mary in this post)
  • 30% off the sale at the Short Hills, NJ store
("thanks!" to Mary in this post)
  • 30% off the sale at the Tysons, VA store
("thanks!" to Anon at 11:19 PM in this post)
So chances are your local store is offering a similar percentage off their sale items. :) The increase in percentage off is really great news, especially since just last week, the majority of stores had an additional 20% off the final sale.

Is your local store offering more than an additional 20% off final sale merchandise? If so, what is the percent and location of the store? Is the sale in your local store "final"? Thank you so much in advance! :)

  2. My local B&M is still 30% as of today. Crewcuts excluded:(
OT- I ordered a few adorable t-shirts for my daughter from Jcrew.com and did not want to pay J Crew's high shipping so I added the Maggie in Camel to my order so that I could finally see it in person and decide if I like it enough to keep it + got FREE shipping:) I mentioned the CS that I really did not like the J Crew only carried up to a 12 in stores but every item goes up to a 14. I am totally in between sizes and it is really annoying to only have one of the sizes in stores. She told me that was going to change and that they will be carrying 14 in all stores and size 16 as well. I was thrilled to hear this news. The only reason I have been able to return to my J crew Obsession is that I lost weight and can now fit into J Crew again, but would have spent a fortune had they carried a 16. Good move J Crew! You have been missing the boat on a segment of the population (isn't the average american woman now a 12 or 14??) and if you want to sell more why exclude anyone?
Has anyone purchased the Peacoat in Plum? It looks to be sold out in every size- is that possible?

  3. gigiofca, thanks for the review of the lamé shirt. i have been thinking about ordering this. i have one question: is it stiff and/or scratchy? it looks like the fabric could be itchy.

  4. rosie -- Not stiff or scratchy. I was in a rush. I'll update my review. Thanks for asking!

  6. gigiofca: I liked your review, too, especially how you photographed the received item. It's nice to see an actual picture of an item, rather than a catalog version.

I have been debating the shell color for a long time in that shirt, because it seems somewhat pearly in color. Which color do you prefer and why?

  7. I couldn't get mt ID to go through on your blog so here I am...

OMG gigi--Great review! You definitely sold a lot of us the other day when they announced SALE:) I was LOL when I read your review as that is what my CSR was saying as I went through my list and ordered 2 she would read it back to me and part of me thought it kinda cute and funny, the other part of me cringed;)

Never would have thought to try the Adelaide dress but I don't tend to look at the dresses as I am super casual. This one looks like it could be just that! May have to check it out if not too late!

Can't wait to see the layme shirts :-0

  8. melanie -- Glad you like. :-).

I haven't recvd the whisper lame' in the shell color yet. Hopefully it will arrive next week. In my dreams I hope it is more of an off white, but I have a feeling it will have a pink shimmer like a seashell. We'll see...

covert5 - I notice ppl aren't emailng me through the posts. I'll have to see what I can update over there to correct the issue. Sorry about that. Glad you also got a layme shirt! You should have heard my guy also try to pronounce Adelaide. He gave up after the first try. Very bunny, which in my language is bad/funny.

  9. does anyone visit the St Louis Frontenac store? wondering if they're having this sale... they usually don't have too much in the sale section but there's always hope ;)

  12. gigiofca and others - so funny i just received my whisper lame shirt in shell yesterday! i completely agree with your post of the fit/style/itchy factor. BUT the shell color is NOT AT ALL what it looks like online. in fact i called CS and asked if i could return it (i have never done that before). after explaining to the cs that it honestly doesn't look like the online color at all she said I could just this once. its not the beige-y soft color it looks online, it is a full on PINK color. ie its the color of a light pink dress shirt. might work for some, but i felt like a barbie with it on. :( hope that helps someone!!

  14. Does anyone know what % of do Manhattan stores have?

  15. The Westport, CT store is still having a 30% off atleast thru today. The New Canaan, CT store usually has the same and sometimes 40% off. Both stores are GREAT to shop. Terrific managers and staff.

  16. anon at 12;33: That is great news! It frustrates me too that i cannot try on items in the store.

Now, if they start offering more things in sizes 14 and 16 that would be even better. I've noticed that a lot of items stop at size 12, sometimes they go up to a 14, and 16 is a "special size".

  17. kate! - Oh man. Sorry to hear the shell is a pink color and not beige. Oh well. If it's good for my skin I'll try to create a good outfit out of it. If the material is as pretty as the soft graphite I would like that.

  18. @ anon @ 12:33 - I have the peacoat from last year in purple in size xl which translates to a 14-16. I find that size 14 coats fit the same as 16 minus less room in the bust. You can always buy the larger size and tailor it esp. since 16s go really fast.

  21. Orland Park, IL final sale currently extra 30% off. The very nice SA let me know that they will be getting additional sale items from two other stores and will be making the whole back area of the store a "sale" area. Will check this weekend and see what they've got.

  24. The Boston JCrew is having 30% off sale items, with an additional 20% off if you spend $150 or more. They had a LOT of the 120s dresses, cashmere tees, cashmere argyle, and silk a-line skirts in the sketchbook roses and abstract rose prints (and maybe sharkskin too).
I dont really remember what else because I only look at the things I want... piles of tees, pants (wool I think), and several different types of jackets/blazers.
Supposedly the promo lasts through monday.

  26. Charleston, SC, is offering 40% off ladies, but nothing off crewcuts. I didn't ask about mens, sorry.

  27. girlinboston -- is it additional 20% off entire purchase (sale and non-sale), or just if you spend $150 in the final sale? and do you know if the additional 20% combines with the student discount? thanks! :)

  28. The San Francisco Centre is 40% off too! Yay!

OT- Heads up on a few new items:
The Victoria white long sleeve shirt is cute, but the second I took it out of the shipping bag to try it on, it became as wrinkled as if I had pulled it out of the bottom of a hamper. It only got more wrinkled as I was trying it on. And it's dry clean.

Cashmere henley is nice, but if you don't have long arms or a long torso, it will be long on you. I'm 5.0 tall, and wear an XS, and it was long on me. (and I'm 5.5 months pregnant and it still fit my belly and was long!)

  29. Manhasset J.Crew has additional 30%.

This seasons' Favorite-fit stretch vintage bootcut cord was on sale for $39.99 on select colors.

The Sherpa-lined goosedown puffer vest was knocked down to $98 as an in-store promotional item.

High-heel flare jeans were on promotion for $20 off.

    Cable crewneck still $59.50

Dream Silvie dress was available for all sizes except Small.

  30. I -think- the extra 20% off applies to anything. So post-30% off items and full-priced items have to equal 150. I heard someone else asking about the student discount in addition, and the SA said her instinct was no, because the extra 20% was a sales code or something like that, similar to the student discount. I'd ask anyway, and see what happens.

  31. My local b&m in VA was 30% off final sale yesterday, plus they honored the 15% educator/student discount...I got some great deals, including some of the beaded tees (like the shoe one) which were reduced to 9.99 and I got for about 5.50!! Fun!

The secret sales there were $100.00 off some of the beautiful coats that run from the $200-$300. range...but I got the white thinsulate coat on final sale last year for $90.00, so didn't really look at the coats at all. There were also advertised specials, like cashmere v-necks for 99.00.

  32. The Michigan Ave store in Chicago is not only offering 30% off final sale items, but they're also offering 20% off your entire purchase if you spend $150!
