  1. I have taken advantage, I ordered online late Tues night and I am going to the b&m tomorrow lol. I just can't resist the double discount. I hope they have some nice items left on the sale rack

  2. I got full priced items with the 20% off - simone, zoe selima sunglasses, and the floral lace mia dress on FS (if they actually have that in the inventory).

Unfortuately I didn't find any sale item at my local retail store that tempts me enough to add up to the $175 minimum needed for the 20% off.

  3. Yes! Please make this sale stop! I picked up some adorable Crewcut dresses for my daughter for next Summer. I loved the prices and could not resist the Alexis Madras dress for $9.99 + 20% off!! (originally $78) I also had to sneak in a few items for myself and got the Double Strand Flower necklace & bracelet in guava- hopefully it will look as yummy when it arrives! Great deals on men's shorts too! I got frustrated with the website and called CS and it was super easy to get through and for some reason I have more confidence that I might actually get some of the items...

  4. I am probably going to a b&m tomorrow. If I don't see anything in stores, I may make an order online.

Two items I tried on in person are the cashmere striped sequin cardigan (96132) and snow leopard print tartine cardigan (98785) -- super cute! I can't see shelling out $188 even aat 20% off for something I can't wear for another couple of months. But I may get the Tartine tomorrow.

A little sad that I didn't receive a $25 valued customer card. I am a good customer! I've ordered sale & f/p in the past few months to the tune of 4 figures (easy to do). I have exchanged a couple of things, but J Crew has kept every dime I have given them. My items rarely go back and if they do, I end up spending more. Ok -- vent over. :-)

  5. Opps I said the alexis dress, but it was the Girls' baja patchwork Annika dress- in Hibuscus- only $8.00 with discount!!! I also picked up the Florentine-print silk sundress. I passed a woman in Chicago over Labor day wearing it and it looked Amazing. Crossing my fingers is shows up:) I was considering the Hammered-silk soutache tank, but changed my mind at the last minute- has anyone ever seen this? Cute under a suit?

  6. Took advantage of this coupon and bought two more marcella blouses (the honey glaze and green), and also the dream tie cardigan in rhubarb. They all had the extra 20%, plus the 20% off the coupon. Love them. The CS even combined the teacher's discount. What a wonderful deal!

  7. Has anyone purchased the the cashmere argyle vneck with the bow? I love it on the hanger, but XS was like a tent on me. When I asked a CS, she thought the size was not labeled right. I wish Jcrew hadn't screw up that vest!

  8. I ordered the Simone Snow leopard jacket last week. I am glad I did as it is already sold out in a 10 and 12! (with no backordered dates so I bet it is truly sold out!)

  9. Still haven't purchased anything...I'm holding off until the October merchandise comes out. :)

  10. I am thinking of ordering the controversial (Ha ha:))
floral ruffle Astrid but can't decide whether to wait for a better sale...

  12. I placed an order online last night with the private sale and got the boatneck city tee in dark eggplant, the watson pants in black (i already have them in khaki, stone, and dark slate. i love them for work) and the hammered silk tank in dark peacock. i tried on the watercolor rosette tank in my b&m and liked the fit but not the rosettes. The hammered silk is the same style, just without the added bulk of the rosettes, so I figured I'd like that too. Like people were saying, I had to size down in the tank. Since I needed $2.50 more to make it to $175 I bought the cashmere care kit too since I have been expanding my cashmere collection recently.

  13. Yay for Wal Mart! I loved the look of the Bright Blue Jackie cardi with the Peacock Hammered Silk tank (and the Peacock colored necklace) although I hated spending that much for a combo that was going to be worn to ballgames and PTA meetings. However, when I was grocery shopping at WM yesterday I saw a tank looked to be the exact same color as the Peacock Silk tank...and only $4.00 to boot! I wore it with the cardi last night and got tons of compliments! I was so excited! LOL. :)

  14. JCrewjunkie, Yes, Wal-mart has some finds:) I have two cardigans with these gorgeous buttons with little crystals in the middle that are so cute! I get tons of compliments and I never say they were from Wally World! They look like JCrew ones...Good score:)

  15. I was thinking about getting the Greta coat with the 20% off, which would have let me meet the minimum easily. I have no idea what my size would be, but I was between a 2 and a 4 in the Felicia and didn't feel like ordering both online, only to have to return one of them. I love both the Felicia and the Greta but it's hard to get into the idea of buying them when it's still 80 degrees outside. :)

  16. So I gave into to 'blog' pressure and ordered some theings I've been wanting. The scorpion tie (the picture in this post), a navy striped one, a camel shetland sweater and some chinos to replace my bad Gap ones. No need to give me heck about the Gap pants, it's been done.

I received an order yesterday, I am on a roll lately. The fair isle vest is great, it'll be wonderful on those cold days. The five pocket cords in tobacco are really nice. The colour is incredible, a rich mid chocolate brown.

  17. Anonymous @ 12:20 am, I'm curious what the sunglasses are like. I needed new ones and considered those, but in the end grabbed a pair of wayfarers from my local mall in tortoise. I wonder if Alexis will be getting a few who have bought them to comment on them.

  18. I am going to wait on the Floral Ruffle Astrid. I think that is still overpriced even with a 20% coupon. The ruffle details are not the same as shown in the catalog. IRL, the color is great but it does not have the same character as the one shown in the look book.

  19. ny0311 - what do you mean when you say "They all had the extra 20%, plus the 20% off the coupon." Did you somehow get 40% off? And if so, how!!

    Thanks :)

How did you get the eggplant boatneck tee online--they don't show it in that color online just stores--i have been trying to get it since it first came out in stores but mine only got a few sizes and tons of sizes in the other colors!

    Thanks for info!

  21. Anon 1043: Are you sure you aren't looking at the vintage french terry boatneck (Item 97631)? That one doesn't come in the dark eggplant online, but the boatneck city tee does (Item 96955)

  22. Kat: Yes! The marcella blouses and the dream tie cardigan @ $69.99 had the final sale 20% discount in the stores. Then they applied the private sale coupon discount of 20%. And on top of that, I had no problems applying my 15% teacher's discount...Each item ended up being like $40 or so...

I now realize that it's all up to the CS whether they want to stack coupons....I was lucky yesterday!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Kat: If you buy sale items, the stores will give you the extra 20% which is the sale currently in the stores. THen if you spend $175, you'll be able to use this private sale coupon. That's an additional 20%. Hope it works for you!

  24. I went crazy and stocked up (for fall) on a big selection of perfect-fit tees. I ordered 2 perfect scoopnecks (black & peacock--love this style), three (sale section, but new fall colors) long sleeve perfect fit tees, two short sleeve perfect fit tees (peacock) and two short sleeve sale perfect fit tees (citron---love that color with gray for fall). I LOVE the heavier weight of the perfect fit tees for fall, and will dress them up and down. A true staple in great JCrew colors. Machine washable is mandatory for a mother of many children. Plus, I love the longer length of these tees. So, instead of splurging on a something that I *may* wear, I spent money for and used my 20% off coupon for the tees that I wear every day! I am happy!

  25. I definitely took advantage! I bought the Serge pencil skirt in Ochre (so yummy), the black beaded double dog tee shirt, plus a jeweled geranuim hairband.

  26. anon 2:38 - I also went crazy over the fall Perfect Tees. I love the new fall weight, and the 3/4 mandarin collar is my favorite.

I am surprised that the long sleeve went on sale already

  27. Can anyone tell me if Honey Glaze is very close to Spicy Mustard? I have the Jackie cardigan in Spicy Mustard and the color is just perfect for me. Now I want to take advantage of this 20% off AND my rewards card (expires soon!), and some of the items in honey glaze look pretty close to the Spicy Mustard. Anyone have any insight they can share? TIA!

  28. Barbara,

I own both honey glaze and spicy mustard jackie cardigans. Honey glaze has yellow tint and spicy mustard has green tint... both are different

    ReplyDelete
  29. Thanks, Anu!! I bought a luxe jersey top in honey glaze--figured it would still work with my coloring even if not quite spicy mustard. LOVE those Jackie cardigans. Just waiting for the day they offer it in eggplant.

  30. Argh--I waited to long to shop! The Private Sale is emptying out regular priced items. I went into my B&M store to use my private sale coupon--planned on buying a few items in the store and then ordering few using the red phone.

But no Isabel's in slate grey in size 6. No Audrey dress in heather silver in XS (was to be my sister's B-day present). And no Grey Astrid Berry in P8. ARGH!!

Selling out the petite Astrid makes a little crazy. I ordered a P10 during the Personal Shopper event. At the time, it wasn't even available. It was pre-ordered. The jacket just arrived yesterday. Who would have thought that a jacket that was pre-ordered three weeks ago would be now sold-out! Wish I would have ordered two sizes instead of one.

Long and the short--never reached a total at the B&M that would have allowed me to stack the 20% of final sale with the private sale. So disappointing!

  31. Everyone: Thanks for sharing what you have purchased using this latest promotion. It is a great way for me to shop vicariously through you all. ;)

JCrew Guy In Canada: Congrats on the scorpion tie and the shetland sweater (great buy too!) :)

  32. Shoot. I just ordered the Lucille jacket (in orange - I'm a little nervous about the color), 2 pairs of academy pants (checked and black), a tartine cardigan, a pair of cords, a patent leather skinny belt, and circle tights. It's too hard to resist when everything is 20% off! Hopefully I won't like everything. Sidenote: I love that the sale codes always seem to work after the "deadline" - I'm usually a couple hours past the 11:59 cutoff, but they've always worked. Knock on wood.

  33. ny0311 - I found the cashmere argyle bow/vneck TTS. It is a layering piece and definitely meant to be worn with something underneath.

  34. Oh yeah...I went to a b&m today. I got a dream tie cardigan in navy, a painter tee in a forest green color, a matchstick cords chocolate, a jewel buckle grossgrain belt in peacock and a dream taffeta sash cardigan (97467). I agree with the strong sentiments about the difference in pricing. The taffeta sash cardigan was $119.99 in the store before 20% off and an additional 20% for spending over $175. It's still regular price ($148) on the website. I saw the cardi on sale at both San Francisco and Walnut Creek, CA. All colors are on sale. Tried on the snow leopard tartine again and glad I didn't like it the 2nd time around. Saved me $.

  35. Thanks Alexis. I picked up a green shetland last winter and really got a lot of wear out of it. It's a lighter weight and like all the mens J.Crew sweaters fits great.

The scorpion tie will be a blast. All the women at work called it cute. Yes I get all my items shipped to work. That way I don't have to run around after work getting packages. And yes I do take a fir bit of ribbing for all the shopping. Although since doing this two others are ordering from J.Crew.
