J.Crew Orders: Are You Getting Them? :)

"Thanks!" to Anonymous at 9:33 AM (in the "Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?" post) who came up with a great topic for a post. She suggested a discussion on how many older final sale items that we ordered actually get mailed to us.

Many of us ordered items in the Final Sale awhile back, that were wait-listed. Now some of those items are reappearing on the website's sale section as "in stock". Have those items, already ordered, been fulfilled or have they been canceled? As an example, Anonymous at 9:33 AM mentioned her situation: "I added the paper poplin rain jacket, the katie sweater, the popover blouse, the martine pink hibiscus cardigan and many more items (yes, they have just sat there with no activity other than to have items drop off cancelled) BUT for instance--the katie is still showing in stock/OPEN as is the piper seaglass blouse. I wonder if I will get these items?!"

I should also add that I have noticed that J.Crew's sale section still shows items as "in stock" and ready to purchase when they are actually not. As a result, I have gotten into the habit of placing orders over the phone (to check the items true status). I must have called J.Crew's customer service at least ten times in the past week to verify if the "in stock" item online is available for me to order, and I would say that at least 90% of the time the CS told me that the item is not in stock. Although I am disappointed at not being able to order the item, I am grateful that I did not place an order only to have it cancel (or worse) on me later.

Have the items you ordered on "wait list" been sent to you already (or are you still waiting for them to be shipped)? Have you seen those items (that you have been waiting for) available in the sale section as "in stock"? In general, have you been able to order & receive your J.Crew online purchases in a timely manner and error free? ;)

  1. jcrew has been pretty good to me. i lucked out during the upgrade... i didn't experience any issues. but my recent orders, i get alright... but in the wrong sizes and discombobulated boxes. hah. when i called to get my student discount, i got disgruntled cs.

  2. I've had 4 orders canceled in about 6 weeks. On an additional order, the item (sale) was defective. It was marked S but the tag inside the shirt was labeled XS. Last week, I ordered the piper tank in ivory. I waited for about a week before I got an e-mail informing me it was inventory cancelled. I may try to order it again (sound familiar anyone?) in hopes that it will actually get to me. BTW, is the piper tank a longish tank? I like the idea of wearing it with a cardigan but don't like the look of extra fabric peeking out from the bottom.

  3. jcrewoldtimer: I have the Piper in a sz0, put it in the washer/dryer (even though it says dry clean) and after ironing it's about 21" long -- no extra fabric on me.

it's cute if you have the patience to iron out the tie part or are OK with the crinkled silk look. I think I got it for $39 at the store.

  4. I am having trouble getting an promotional item (Cashmere V-neck), CS told me that there is lots left. When I call I get lots of attitude, empty promises, and different answers from CS. I have had it!

  5. Placed 2 orders. Received 2 tracking numbers (both don't work on fedex, ups, or usps). Haven't received anything....still. Haven't called yet, because I think I should give it a week..or 2 more. I also like to email customer service, because they're generally much nicer and obliging (with discounts and student discounts + free shipping) then over the phone...but sometimes inefficient. ack. I think this might be the last time I order from J.Crew online. It's B&M for me..from now on. And there's only 1 J.Crew in Hawaii.

  6. It's been off and on. My first order after the upgrade included a men's striped polo shirt which I hadn't ordered, and did not include the cotton sweater I had. I was able to return it to the store, but the manager seemed vaguely annoyed, which annoyed me, and the item I had ordered was of course no longer in stock, which annoyed me further. Recently, I had an order of two items which were shipped separately without notification, and my internet account had no information other than "released." Since recent sales receipts include no merchandise total, it's pretty hard to tell what you are being charged, so that further complicates matters. When I called customer service, the rep couldn't have been nicer (oozed southern charm, complimenting my patience about the problem) but she couldn't figure out what had happened based on computer records (apparently CS and the warehouse can't communicate via computer yet), but she never called me back as she promised to do about 10 times. Eventually, the second item came (about a week later). It's just bizarre.

  7. Life is just too busy and hectic to deal with JCrew online order problems. I have gotten my last order which contained only one new item. Yesterday, I was tempted to order some sale items but did not feel like dealing with possible problems....so I just hung up while on hold...I don't have a store nearby and I am just so disheartened by JCrew recently. I had problems with 5 orders that I placed in July and didn't want to go back there. Once I got all that mess straightend out I though WHY? return? There will always be cute clothes from JCrew and I can do without for a bit.

  8. The last item I ordered was my Chino Cooper Jacket and that was the week before last (it wasn't Final Sale yet). It took another almost 3 hours on the phone speaking to 5 different reps to 1)find the order, as the first one was lost, and 2)get a price adjustment since the stores were running the extra 40% off sale items. The jacket DID come the next week, but the order was NOT without a lot of headache, time, and hassle. I don't even try for the sale merchandise now, as I really think J.Crew is posting items on the website that ARE NOT and HAVE NOT been available for a very, very, very long time. The prices ARE great on them, but ONLY if you actually get the item, and I don't want to waste the time and energy it takes to *chance* getting the merchandise.

  9. I have placed about 6-10 orders since the upgrade and luckily received ALL of them! they all took longer than usual. my card was charged later than usual as well. all the items were sale too. I wonder if it will EVER go back to normal....BGD

  10. I ordered the Owen hobo before the upgrade and it was backordered. Amazingly, on Tuesday it showed up on my doorstep. On the other hand, I ordered the Twisted Placket shirt in green (preupgrade) and it too was backordered. Not only have I not received it, but I now see that it is FS. Grrrrr.

  11. Was it someone here that posted they have the Lydia in gray and paired it with the Pewter Tartine? It sounded so pretty and I can't remember where I read it. :)

  12. i haven't had too many problems yet with sale stuff (that i know of). the last time i was home i got everything i ordered. this included, linen beach cardi, ss cotton cardi in violet, cotton vneck cardi in white, and the serengetti capri sandals.

since then (i'm in brazil so i ship to mom's house!) i have ordered the metallic french market tee and perfect fit ruffle henley, both of which got cancelled. i was refunded immediately. also ordered (from sale) 2 perfect fit tees, tissue ruffle henley, 2 vneck merino sweaters, a merino tunic, kelly slim shirt, and the ss cotton cardigan. so far so good, although i'm not there to check on whether the shipments were correct. we'll see! it's always like christmas when i get home. until i have to pack up 3/4 of it and send it back because it doesn't fit.

  14. I have to say, I've had minor problems but most of my sale items have arrived on time.

I haven't been dealing with any of the CS over the phone just because of what I've been hearing here so if I have a problem my sa in the B&M have been helping me. Also, a mgr in my store told me to report any bad CS rep to her...she said they have hired a ton of new reps and if she reports them based on my complaint something "will" happen? Maybe worth getting the cs name and report them while in the store. If enough get in trouble maybe they will start to excercise some actual customer service?

  15. I just had an order canceled even thought the item still showed up in the final sale section for days on end (4S favorite fit chino in white and stone). And to boot I had to call them myself to find this out.

J Crew charges enough for their goods to be considered at least semi-high end retail and furthermore expect us to play by the rules with their "final sale" policy. Yet they can't play by the rules of basic online retail.

I should not have to play Russian roulette with my online orders, "am I going to get what I want or am I going to get canceled?"

  16. I placed three orders this week, a mix of FS and non-FS items. Only one item out of 17 has been cancelled, and one item is waitlisted. (I rec'd email about the cancellation.)

One order confirmation was received hrs later, along with a shipping confirmation-which is trackable.

Last month I placed two orders for a single item at a time and received both items timely.

  17. This is the first time I have had an issue w/ an order. Today was my 3rd call to customer service. I had ordered the Seychelles necklace, a tote bag, 2 crewcuts tees and a yoga tank. That was Sat. On Monday I received one of the crew cuts tops. I called CS to find out where the rest of the order was..and after holding forever I got hung up. When I called back they told me to wait it out until Monday. Last night I got an email the seychelles was cancelled on the order and the rest had still not shipped out. Called CS today b/c the seychelles is back on the website (and cheaper!). The call started off a bit rough but she turned out to be very nice. Sounds like the rest of my order could get cancelled. She went ahead and replaced the necklace w/ free overnight (!!!!) shipping. However she set the expectation that it will probably get cancelled again. So overall I feel like ugh.

I did order the peacoat yesterday. I think that will be my last online order for awhile and stick to the store.

    ReplyDelete
  18. OT: I know this isn't the weekly exchange but if anyone has the Martine two-color heals in the pink and grey or the one color peacock in size 8 1/2 or 9 I would be interested! I'm going on vacation soon and need them for a few outfits! Thanks!

  19. Hi there- somewhat new to the blog but have been shopping at j.crew since 1987 (rollneck sweaters and barn jackets era). Thought I would throw out my experiences with recent purchases:
serge pencil skirt in blue: beautiful color, texture and shape, but I definitely needed to size down. Normally wear a 4 in suiting skirts but this was baggy on my hips.

Revington tall boots in black: really great looking sleek boots. grateful that the heel is not too tall or too squat. they are not shiny, as the pic looks, but a matte black. which i personally like. true to size & comfortable.

glass bead necklace in avocado: it's a return. not my style and heavy as heck. hit myself in the eye with it when putting it over my head and it actually hurt.

also, about skirt & dress lengths: i am particular about my skirt length, so if the website or catalog doesn't say, i always call before ordering. they will tell you the specific measurements for all of the clothes.

lastly! i was told, and this was confirmed by the website help page, that the student and teacher discounts are only available *in-store*. boo.

cheers to everyone! have a great day!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Per anony @8:09 am's comments about the teacher & student discounts only being allowed in-store, I'm sure there are bloggers who still call and get the discount over the phone. Judging from what has been discussed on this blog before, JCrew employee's are inconsistent when it comes to sticking to JCrew's policies.

I guess I'm commenting on this because I do feel it is unfair. They should maintain their policies or not have them.

When I used to peruse this blog, I sometimes felt like I must be on the Target blogsite. I never knew you could get such deals!

  21. I've had multiple items canceled in the 5-6 weeks and they still keep showing up as in stock. To add insult to injury some of these orders are taking 2-3 weeks just to ship and often require follow-up from me to get them sent out in the first place.
On the plus side my Visa bill is much smaller ;-)
Like most others, I'm avoiding ordering the sale items.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Depending on your situation you can get teacher and student discounts over the phone or via email sending them the request with your school email...I have a special circumstance situation being an educator and have faxed them a copy of my valid teaching certificate to a certain personnel and have it attached to my account for phone orders...this is b/c I live overseas part of the year...

  23. I've ordered and had the same pair of pants canceled five or six times. Finally I have a tracking number for them, but I'll believe it when I see it. I also am having multiple sale items cancel. On a good note, I had a few of those cambridge cable cardigans and v-neck sweaters ship (in heather pine, wild berry, and spiced wine) for about $20 each. As well as a GORGEOUS knee length merino sweater coat for about $60. Those shipped right away. So I guess can't complain. But I've had to create a spreadsheet to track what charges and what refunds I should see, etc.

  24. I have had so many items canceled on me although they show on-line and with CS that they have the items in stock. It's so sad because I've come to expect that none of my orders will ship complete. If items actually show up at my door, I'm shocked and thrilled.

Btw, I did receive the Burnished Yellow Tessa in a small just yesterday and didn't expect it to show up. Obviously, it was final sale and I used 20% off in-store sale. Unfortunately, it's a little big on me so would love to sell it to a fellow aficionada for $50 shipped.

p.s. I could try to return it but was hoping to save some frustration and humiliation. :)

  25. musthavejcrew: How far down do you unbutton the Lydia? Do you leave the Tartine unbuttoned as well? I did not think that I would like a darker colored top under a lighter colored sweater, but found that I LOVE these together. A big thanks to you for this idea. :)

  26. I did receive my cashmere Anna jacket in black, XL yesterday. However, it is a bit too small in the shoulders, so I put it on eBay last night if anyone is interested. I was surprised it was snug as I have several sweaters in L from J.Crew, and this item has a boxier, swingier shape. I'm bummed but oh well...

    ReplyDelete
  27. I posted before about odering a suit and having the jacket cancelled. Well, the pants came yesterday and I loved the fit. I looked to see if there was a jacket in a larger size that I could get altered and there was my jacket in my size! I called CS who the jacket I originally ordered was in stock and is now shipping it to me. Coincidentally, I placed a full priced order on Saturday and got it Tuesday--no problem. I think the problems are limited to sale items and full price.

  28. I was upset a while back for having not recieve a part of my order...about a week or two later the additional item showed up at my doorstep. Even though J. Crew had cancelled this from original order, they seemed to just do a "make good" by sending one when they had it and I NEVER EVEN GOT CHARGED FOR THE DIFFERENCE....granted, it was a men's tie for $6.99 (plus S&H), but still! I was glad to have everything I wanted and getting the last item for free was even better! :-)+

  30. I've placed multiple orders from June until now with not one being correctly shipped, invoiced, billed, or refunded correctly, and most of them were canceled. I've given up on placing any online orders with jcrew.com and will only being buying items from the b&m stores. Unfortunately, there's not a store that's easy for me to get to. But, it's better for my finances. Additionally, it's great to not having to deal with the frustration of placing orders that will never come.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I ordered two items from the last extra20 sale...my shirt arrived on time (5 days) and the backordered crewcuts jeans were noted as being backordered the day I placed my order. The shirt is fine.

Last extra20 sale items arrived correctly and on time as well. In between the sales, I placed an order for a Lucille. It took a little while for it to process (an extra 2-3 days or so), but shipped correctly. All orders followed the order site screen info to a "T" and had accurate tracking numbers.

I don't know how I'm getting "lucky", but I suspect that the fact that I don't spend a lot per order, don't order in larger quantities, and space my requests just makes me feel a little more at ease - I think it must be psychological!

  32. I recently ordered a blue Jackie sweater on final sale, along with another item. When the package arrived, the Jackie wasn't included, but I had been charged for it! It took a good 30 minute call to CS to this sort out. Apparently, they were having "inventory problems" and I was offered free shipping. But, as I believe someone else has pointed out, free shipping is only good if you receive your order.

I also made a red phone order for the cordoroy trousers and the wool Carrie dress about 2 weeks ago. The CS told me that they didn't have those items loaded in the system, and would have to take a hand-written order. I have called three times about this order, as I have never received an email, been charged, or been sent the items. After twice being told to wait a few days, I finally got a CS to tell me that they had no record of my order, and that they would overnight the items. Of course, this took almost 40 minutes. Very frustrating.

  35. anon @ 8:30 - I know what you mean about the great deals people talk about getting on this blog! I'm trying NOT to think about all the times (in the past) I placed full-price orders and paid shipping when I didn't have to!
I'm a newcomer here and I'm really excited to have found a place to talk about J Crew clothing(my husband and mom were sick of listening) expecially when you get a great deal in a store or online and you can pass it along!! This blog is a great information outlet (and also an enabler!). Before I buy anything new from J Crew I search this blog to see what all the "J Crew professionals" had to say about the item!! It's great! Sorry - a little OT!

  36. OT: Did anyone else watch Project Runway last night? I agreed with the two who got eliminated, but not the winner. I did like Terrell's dress, but it didn't seem avant garde to me at all. I thought Joe's dress, the Aries dress, should have won - that was a phenomenal piece.

Oh, and how catty were Terri and Keith? Good for Michael Kors that he called them out on having to learn to collaborate.

Wouldn't it be great if one of the challenges was to create an outfit to be sold by J.Crew, and judged by Mickey Drexler. I'd be so into seeing that :-)

  37. HI GANG--I AM THE ANON THAT REQUESTED THIS IDEA...THANKS ALEXIS!
One thing I was concerned about was that there may be too much complaining of things that had NOT shown up etc. ...actually everyone has been rather calm and that is nice to see:)
The one thing I haven't read much is THE OLD ITEMS people DID RECEIVE??? Give us names people:) That's what makes this FUN!

I am laughing because the Piper seaglass and the katie sweater are on their way (or at least I have a tracking #) WOW--I cannot believe it!!! ANyone else have any items they laughingly placed on their order and yet recv'd or have tracking # to receive??
Also have a pair of liza peep toe heels in an 8--they still show on my order--that seems laughable too-so we will see:)

  38. Hi everyone….I’m new here, but I’ve been lurking for a little while and this blog has been a great resource (and of course, enabler) for me! I wanted to share my frustration about the Final Sale online purchases.

I ordered a bunch of final sale items last Friday and got an email this morning that a couple of the items were canceled. A bit of an annoyance, but what are you going to do? What I did notice was that the gift card I had applied to my order was canceled and all charges were moved to my debit card.

I called this morning to ask about this and the CS rep said that this is their standard protocol when two methods of payment were applied and items are canceled. I told her that the reason I bought so much stuff was because of the gift card and I wanted it applied to the order. She basically told me that there was nothing she could do and I couldn’t cancel or adjust my order (although it has yet to ship). So frustrating!

I’m definitely sticking to the B&M for a while until their Web site is sorted out.

    ReplyDelete
  39. jill C--That is just plain wrong and ridiculous. I would have askd for mgr.

  40. This morning I ordered a few items. Two ties, one navy, another in black. The scorpion tie should be fun as I am a Scorpio. I also ordered a camel shetland sweater and a pair of chinos.

I haven't ordered off the sale rack since July 1 and those two orders took 6 weeks. Luckily I am working with a great PS and things are running smoothly. Another reason I haven't ordered any sale items is I'm over all of them and the new clothing is much more enticing than a linen shirt or flip flops.

  41. I ordered some older items from the final sale -- this is what I've gotten so far: cashmere graphic argyle s/s sweater in bright ocean citron, cafe capri in burnished moss, pleated tissue tank in honey, links print merino cardigan and tangier print cardigan. Cancelled items included the python print cardigan and some favorite tanks. Quite a few of my items were sent twice and the orders took a long time to arrive. Had no succes in getting a definite answer as to the availability of the items. I'm happy that I got a few older items that I missed the first time around; disappointed that I have so much "returning" to do.

  42. I have tried 5 times to order the cherry blossom dress. The orders have sometimes been cancelled; others jyst never shipped. Then, on Monday, I got a "your item has been shipped" email. Curiously, the UPS tracking number does not work. Let's see if it actually shows up.

  43. Sorry! This is completely OT...I know people have talked about natedac, the ebay seller who lists Jcrew items at outrageous prices...Anyway, has anyone purchased anything from her? I want to buy the papaya fiona from him, which is listed at $80. I made a best offer of $40, and she counteroffered. Finally, she is willing to settle for $55 with shipping included, but she won't do it through ebay - only directly through paypal. Could there be anything fishy about it? Would love to hear your opinion...

  45. I must say that I only ordered two final sale items this summer, and I received each of them in under a week. While I have found the website annoying (items appear in final sale but aren't actually on sale, etc.) I can't complain about my personal experiences with orders.

My mom also ordered a Fiona jacket via the red phone (birthday present for me! yay!) and received it in under a week.

  47. I have two orders, both containing shoes, that were 'shipped' but missing from packages, but didn't experience any problems with sales items inventory canceled. I did have full priced items that were inventory canceled - but they do have the inventory.

I placed an order for the floral lace mia dress - I was warned by the CSR that the inventory was very low and the order can be canceled. I don't really need to spend the money so no big deal if I don't get it.

  48. anon @ 11:48: That is called circunventing fees and is totally illegal. If Ebay were to find out not only would Natedac be in trouble, but they would temporarily close your account as well! Also, even with the counteroffer when you consider that she is being charged nothing by Ebay (since she has suggested an off site arrangement) and her insane shipping cost you are being totally ripped off.

    ReplyDelete
  49. circumventing, not circunventing. Sorry, but this stuff just makes me soooo mad.

    ReplyDelete
  50. anon at 11:48, I would forward natedac's offer to Ebay, because an offer to do a deal outside of Ebay violates their terms.

Also keep this in mind: You have no protection when doing a deal outside of ebay.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Anon @ 12:18 & 12:26: Thanks so much for sharing your feedback...I do feel a bit fishy too, and just needed somebody else to confirm it. I'll pass on this one...Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  52. anon @ 11:48 - it does sound fishy that the seller wants to go outside of ebay - but you still have protection through your credit card and paypal, so if you think you are getting a good deal, I would go for it - still, that seller is not following ebay's rules!!

Regarding UPS tracking numbers - I got one from JCrew via email yesterday but when I checked UPS.com, it kept saying "error" and that the tracking number didn't exist - as of this morning, it works and shows the package (Cooper Chino in British Khaki :) on it's way to be delivered today .... so to those of you with "bad" tracking numbers, I hope this is reassuring! I just wish my UPS guy would come before 5 pm!!!

  54. From Ebay policy: "Offers to buy or sell listed items outside of the eBay site are not permitted. Offers of this nature are a potential fraud risk for both buyers and sellers and circumvent eBay's fees. If you receive any spam (unsolicited commercial messages) through email or Skype that includes offers to buy or sell outside eBay, please report this using the appropriate link in the "Additional Information" section below."

Please report this seller to Ebay. You're doing yourself, and future buyers & sellers, a favor in helping to keep Ebay a place for honest business practices.

  56. How do they determine who gets that gift card? I didn't get one- seems like I should be "thanked" for being patient with them losing my orders. How can they be so choosey? Are they being choosey over which orders they're deciding NOT to fill?

    ReplyDelete
  57. I recently had my first item cancelled, a metallic French market tee sz L. However the other 3 items I ordered (2 ruffle henleys and some summerweight bermudas) arrived yesterday mostly without incident.

For me the website sale section today is completely crazy again--click on items and there are no sizes, click on it and it reverts to full price, click a category and get error message, etc. Anyone else?

    ReplyDelete
  58. jliz- same thing happened to me. Then I got duplicates saying things were cancelled, shipped, open, etc. I had to call CS (spoke to a really nice rep, Larry), who explained what everything meant. Apparently, there is still a disconnect with the warehouse and the CS department. It's a guessing game for now...

  59. anon 11:48 am, I know this is a crap shoot, but the store in Vegas (Fashion Show) had about 5 or 6 of Fionas left ($29.99) in like, 2 colors- navy and pink. I didn't check the sizes because I have one already. Might want to check to see if they still have it!

  60. anon regarding natedac: I believe ebay tries to frighten people into not making deals outside of eBay so that they can make their commission. However, I wouldn't take the risk with this seller. He/she has used deliberately misleading titles (to justify high prices I guess) calling czech crystals "diamonds". I contacted him/her and I reported him/her to eBay about this already. He/she adjusted only one of several titles and seems to have changed them back to the misleading titles AGAIN! Not to be trusted.

  63. anon at 11:58, I realize ebay wants to make a commission, but their fees are not exorbitant, in my opinion, and do come with protection. The bottom line is, this seller is attempt to subvert ebay by encouraging a potential buyer to engage in unethical and illegal behaviour. Caveat emptor.

  64. Do you think natedac would go out of business if we all made a pact to not buy from him? It would be worth a try...

    ReplyDelete
  65. vivian: Sorry for the confusion. :)
I must say that a Cup of Coffee and Peace and Quiet are a heavenly combination! :)

    ReplyDelete
  66. I believe that there are others who have mentioned him (Natedac) and not positively either. I think that I would pass and probably would report to Ebay the suggestion that you do not complete your transaction via the normal Ebay protocol. Just my 2 cents.

    ReplyDelete
  67. It sure is. Besides the humidity and the angry chatter on this board, it's going pretty well. Are you ok in FL? I hear there's another nasty storm coming around the bend! I should just be Vivian2, to avoid confusion.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Or just buy via ebay and pay the higher price and quit making a mountain out of a molehill. That would be my suggestion.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I have ordered from him before and not only did he RAISE the shipping AFTER I placed my order, but was very nasty when I mentioned that I was reporting him to Ebay and voiding the transaction. Buyer beware with this one.

    ReplyDelete
  70. How come natedac's feedback score is so high if he is so unethical? Would seem to me that he would get slammed.

    ReplyDelete
  71. vivian2: Hot and humid here as always, and so far so good for us this Hurricane season...thanks for asking! Great idea for the name, too. :)

    ReplyDelete
  72. to sum it up, natedac is nasty, has high prices, questionable ethics, high shipping costs. why do with bother with them? we shouldn't even be looking at his stuff. let's just order via jcrew (at least i know i will get my order in 3 weeks or later, with an apology email- lol)

    ReplyDelete
  73. correction: why do we bother with him?

    ReplyDelete
  74. Hi everyone! Sorry, I've been MIA since school has started up again.

So, I was able to order two ruffle henleys with extra 40% (last day of extra 40% in-stores) over the phone at the end of last week and I received them two days ago. I received a tracking number the day after I placed the order. I had asked about matching my store's additional 40% for final sale items and the CSR told me she could only do it this one time. Because of that, I didn't even try to get my student discount, but that was ok because I called in days later and it was credited three days later. I was nervous about ordering but I'm really glad it worked out. It probably worked though because my items were not waitlisted.

    ReplyDelete
  75. When you try the zoom feature on the floral ruffle Astrid the trim on the cuffs picture still shows up.

Good to hear the ruffles do fluff up:)

  76. FYI -- The eBay seller natedac is a woman and she has posted on this blog once or twice. As far as going outside of eBay, I *do* see how sellers try to create relationships outside of the service so they can avoid paying the eBay fee. However, the seller saving a buck or two is not worth the risk on your end. You'd still have recourse through PayPal, but it would clearly become a headache since the communication originated on eBay. Also, offering to do business outside of eBay undermines the purpose of the site. Period.

And finally -- can we refrain from profanity on this blog? I understand being frustrated, but please show some class. There are saucier and smarter ways to express your distaste than succumbing to profanity.

    ReplyDelete
  77. gigi: I'm so glad you brought up the profanity. I wanted to ask the same thing but didn't want to dignify the language with a response. But since you said something, I'd like to second your request to use more adult language rather than sounding like a high school locker room.

  78. Cherry Blossom poster here again. I just called sutomer service to find out where my one-day ship pakcege was that was shipped on Monday, as my credit card has already been charged. After talking to her spervisor, they determined that they have no idea where my dress is and why it shows a Fedex tracking number. They are recerditing my Amex and siad "that if it does show up, it will just be free".

    ReplyDelete
  79. Some anonymous posters sound menopausal. It would seem to me that they are the same ones starting the same old wars on other posts. Such "I hate..." campaigns are a waste to everyone's time. I think we've basically established who we want to buy from and who not to buy from. Repeating ourselves is just redundant, IMO. I would be hesitant in responding to the nastiness of some of our childish anonymous posters. Thank you gigi and weab for taking the time to address this.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Sally: I also received the "reply back to the email for free shipping" (not the 20% off. So I did..after my order was cancelled. I haven't been charged yet-formally on the CC, so I don't know if it worked..bc in the order status I am still charged the 15 for the shipping. Hopefully it works. Has anyone else replied back to the "reply back for free shipping" and has it been applied later on?

    ReplyDelete
  81. vivian2,
I agree with you in principle, but in this case, I had not heard about any problems purchasing from natedac. I appreciate that others posted their recent experiences so I know not to trust him! But in principle, yes, I don't want to see this blog become a rehash of issues time after time.

    ReplyDelete
  82. laura1: It's kind of funny. No one who has bought from that seller has ever had a specific problem with him (I can't say I have, because I haven't bought from him before).

People have said some accusatory things about natedac and whether the items are samples (like the astrid cuff fiasco??), but I do follow Alexis' posts and she did clarify that Natedac was correct.

I just feel like if someone is going to take the time to trash someone else, they do so at another site, but leave this site out of it!!!

    ReplyDelete
  83. FFM: I'm back! I couldn't resist lurking but when I read your comments to Vivian2, I just had to log in again. How have you been? I'm glad to know you're safe in FL. I missed you and the gang!

With school starting and the lingering bad taste in my mouth from my encounter with CS from hell, I haven't bought anything but yesterday I caved in and bought the double strand giraffe necklace. We'll see.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I recently ordered and received some sweater dresses from past seasons (blair, new dream sweater dress and samantha). I also got a sweater coat (grey white striped, cant remember name). So, these orders were processed with no problems.

But later in a different order, I ordered a bunch of crewcuts stuff for my daughter, and this order is just sitting there. I ordered on Sep 3 and it still shows "released" but not shipped.

I called CS and she told me that it is just sitting there and she will followup to remind them to ship it out. Kind of strange that they need a reminder to ship it out.

Meanwhile that order has "lost" a few sale items because it has been sitting there for so long.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Hi vivian!!! I'm so glad you decided to log back on and post again...it's great to hear from you...you've definitely been missed! :) How is the school year going so far? I bet you have been looking just FABULOUS! :)

    ReplyDelete
  86. hi vivian!!!!! I was wondering how you were doing out there. It's so great to hear from you again! And congrats on the giraffe necklace! I think you and I have very similar tastes - in jewelry AND clothes. Did you order it off the internet? If not, where did you find it?

    ReplyDelete
  87. FFM: It's good to be back! School's coming along nicely. It's still to warm to wear some of my cardis and jackets. Love, love your polyvore outfits. If you could name one most luscious buy lately, which one would that be?

    ReplyDelete
  88. kater: Hi! I found the giraffe necklace on the website last night. CS confirmed there were 16 left when I placed my order, but who knows if she really knows what's going on. I'm not very hopeful and really don't want to set my hopes too high - just to have them dashed yet again.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Maybe i order less than most, but with the exception of a few cancelled orders, I have received most of my merchandise. Then, again maybe i'm too relaxed about the whole thing or have a low tolerance level since i order almost everything -- yep, even toilet tissue -- online. Often there is some mixup. Yep, maybe i've been conditioned... :)

Realistically, of the approximately 10 orders i've placed in the past two months, one was partially cancelled and three were cancelled. My orders consisted of some new but mostly sale items.

The reps i've worked with have been professional if at times not as knowledgeable as i was accustomed to from J.Crew.

I'm going to keep my hopes up and continue to use the web site, mainly for the variety. Now, if i lived in NY, it might be a different story. : ) (Remind me that i posted this should i happen to vent later. :) )

    ReplyDelete
  90. vivian that is fab! I really hope you get it. It's heavy IRL (all of the beads I guess) but oh so beautiful!

    ReplyDelete
  91. kater: What did you get lately? You're right, we seem to bshare similar taste in clothes and accessories! The giraffe necklace is 40 inches - maybe a tad too long for me and my short stature.

    ReplyDelete
  92. vivian: So glad to see you back! I had also been wondering about you. I'm impressed that you've held off for so long. :) Good luck with the necklace - I hope everything goes well with it.

    ReplyDelete
  93. kater: I spoke too soon. They canceled my giraffe necklace order. Oh well.

    ReplyDelete
  94. math teacher: It's great to be back!! What a nice, fuzzy feeling - almost as good as getting the Giraffe necklace, haha.

How's the new school year so far? I see you bought the dream tie cardi. Congrats!

    ReplyDelete
  95. no vivian, I think you're going to be ok. I remember thinking it was going to be longer when I got it. It's not short by any means, but it's not terribly long either. Not that that's much help!

As to what I've gotten recently? It's kind of embarrassing really - I've been going a bit crazy. But I'll give you the things I like the most...:)

    - the berry astrid in blue
    - the andrea in honey glaze
    - the cashmere argyle vneck with the bow in the oatmeal-ish color
    - the super 120s suiting dress in royal violet
    - the harlow blouse in fresh guava
    - dream tie in dark eggplant

Man, listing that out makes me see how truly naughty my credit card and I have been! And that's not even all of it!!! Ahhhh!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  96. kater: Are you the one looking for the opera ring necklace? It's back in the regular section.

    ReplyDelete
  97. kater: Whoa, that's a really yummy list! Now you've got me tempted...

    ReplyDelete
  98. vivian: nope it wasn't me, but thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  99. vivian: First of all, sorry your necklace got canceled already. They should know if something is in stock and if it will ship out. Customers shouldn't have to wait and see. School is going well, but I feel busier than ever! I'm teaching an SAT prep class this year, and I have to do something (or several somethings) to prepare for it every day. My grad classes are both packed with assignments, too. I need more hours in my day! :) I couldn't resist the tie cardigan once it went on sale. I did finally remember to try it on, and then as soon as the sale started, I got it! It's is cute. Now if it would cool off a little so I can wear my new sweaters. It's suppose to be 95 here on Sunday! Ugh!

OT - are the people in everyone's area going crazy about gas right now? The lines here are ridiculous. I'm going out much later tonight to see if they're better - luckily, I have a gas station 1 1/2 minutes from my house.

    ReplyDelete
  100. thanks vivian! I've been out of control lately! jcrew and I need a break but every time I declare one, a coupon comes out or something else I've been lusting after goes on sale!

speaking of sales - people that ordered yesterday with the 20% private sale - how is your order doing? Mine has been stuck in "submitted" since I placed it, and I'm a little nervous as it usually has shifted to "opened" or "released" by now. TIA!

    ReplyDelete
  101. btw vivian - I'm so disappointed about the necklace!

    ReplyDelete
  102. kater: Oops, sorry. Did you get any new jewelry?

    ReplyDelete
  103. Everyone: Thanks for sharing your personal experiences with us all. I have to say that I am sad to hear so many customers getting short-shipped and mis-charged.

For those of you who have been experiencing minimal issues with orders- congrats!!! :)

Vivian & Aly: Welcome back!!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  104. vivian: I can't remember how long it's been since you've been on!! I haven't gotten any new jewelry in about a month, but in early August I got the lady-bug necklace (adorable!) and the fresh guava double strand flower necklace. I'm also stalking the pearl version of that one, but it just won't go on sale. And I don't want to pay full price because I think you said you had to send it back 3 times?!?! Was that you?

    ReplyDelete
  105. btw math teacher - I hear you about not being able to wear any of your new sweaters! I'm in VA and it's so frickin humid here. I just look at my new fall clothes and sigh...hurry up fall!!!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  106. vivian: I haven't really ordered anything from J.Crew lately, except my Chino Cooper Jacket which I adore...I got the Andrea in Honey Glaze awhile ago, and still love it, as well. The purchase I am really looking forward to is the Camel Herringbone Bella that I purchased off of Ebay on Tuesday...it should be here next week, and I cannot wait! :)

So sorry about the necklace! :(

    ReplyDelete
  107. kater: I should be used to it by now, but after growing up in Ohio, I'm used to September being fall. Maybe it wasn't sweater weather, but it also wasn't sweat weather. :) Maybe by next month I'll be wearing thin long sleeves.

    ReplyDelete
  108. math teacher: "sweater weather" v. "sweat weather" - I love it!!! I grew up in MI so I completely understand - we have certain expectations for what sept should feel like!

    ReplyDelete
  109. kater: Congrats on the new necklaces! Yes, that's me who ordered the pearl necklace three times - the quality control of that pearl necklace is a bit iffy. I do understand that pearls are natural products but there's such a thing as some semblance of grading. But trust me, it's worth the hassle.

FFM: I'll have to go check out the Cooper jacket. Congrats on the herringbone Bella in camel. I got mine from ebay, and it arrived two weeks ago. I love it! After all, it IS a Bella. Just wish it's not that scratchy around the neck.

    ReplyDelete
  110. math teacher: Sounds like you have a busy semester! Things are picking up here. But I need to instill more discipline into myself and not procrastinate over a whole of data that I need to write up and send to journals.

I hear ya about the warm weather. I haven't had a chance to wear any of my cardis and jackets either.

Which color did you get for the dream tie? I have the heather silver and the eggplant. I kind of prefer the navy over the eggplant but I have too many navys in my wardrobe right now.

Huh? No gas lines here. Keep us posted.

Kater: If I'm not mistaken, maybe it's blumre who was asking about the opera-ring necklace.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Kater-How do you like the Andrea? How is the sizing? I was planning on ordering the Jackie in honey glaze but it occured to me that the Andrea is probbaly a better Fall layering piece.

  112. I just received a final sale order, and it hada 4 of the 5 items. One item was "cancelled" a day before the order shipped, and they emailed me to tell me that, and the item quit showing up online. The rest of the items were shipped out quickly, and were perfect upon arrival (I got the egyptian cotton v-neck sweater, egyptian cotton v-neck cardi, swing jacket, and tie neck blousey t-shirt)

    ReplyDelete
  113. vivian: I completely understand about procrastination. I'm pretty good about grading tests and quizzes right away, and my lesson plans are done on time, but everything else just sits until I get to it or throw it away. :) I hope you have a good year.

I got the navy tie cardigan. I would have bought the silver, but they didn't have my size and I didn't want to deal with the red phone after my last ordeal with it - although I ended up getting the items for free. If it gets another markdown, I may try to order the silver. I needed a navy sweater, so it's perfect.

Did you end up keeping any of your tartines? If yes, which ones did you keep and which ones did you return? I'd still like another one of those, once they go on sale.

The news is telling us not to panic over gas, but you know how people are. And, there are some gas stations that raised prices $1 and are planning to raise another $1 tomorrow. I don't think they should be allowed to do that, since we're still paying for the gas that they've already paid for. But, that's just my opinion. I'm going out later to check on the lines. One gas station was already out at 5, but it's a small one. Crazy!

    ReplyDelete
  114. Does anyone know if the sale sections in stores still have extra 20% off? I'm making a rare trip to a store tomorrow and I was hoping to purchase a few things that are on sale like a dream tie cardigan.

    ReplyDelete
  115. The last order I made was through the phone. CS was very nice and gave me free shipping and my 15% off discount.

The items was ordered on Monday and it arrived the next Monday. I would say that shipping is by far faster than last time I order. Maybe just lucky. :)

    ReplyDelete
  116. Aly: My store (portland) had 20% off still as of today (Thursday)...A few navy, lots of honey glaze, one XS heather grey, and a few black tie cardis.

They were also moving a bunch of stuff into the sale section (mainly skirts)- I think things are getting a little desperate!

    ReplyDelete
  117. has anyone received the elizabth halter? i ordered an xs in ivory 4 times in the past 2.5 weeks and have had no luck. cs keeps telling me it is waitlisted and will be shipped 9/22 but when they place the order it gets cancelled about 24 hours later. i notice that every size and color says "expected shipment date 9/22". anyone have this item?

    ReplyDelete
  118. Anyone out there who ordered yesterday online with the 20% off coupon? Would you mind sharing your order status? I'm a little concerned about mine, but it might just be because I'm obsessed wit the crew! TIA!

    ReplyDelete
  119. I received the following Final Sale items this afternoon. I just ordered these Monday & used the $25 coupon. Sweet! but not as sweet as probably at a B&M:

    Silk-linen pintuck cardigan
in Light Pewter. This is a winner. I bought it in a medium and it fits perfect. Not too full in the body, it is see-through material & I'll get past the 'dry clean only' by cold hand-wash cycle in the washer.

    Pleated tissue tank
in Light Pewter. I bought a size Small, which is what I usually wear in JC's button-down shirts and tanks/cami's. This color looks great and it fits awesome. The bust area of the top has more than one layer of fabric so it's not see through. The 'v' just hits at the start of my bustline so it is not revealing. The fabric feels more substantial than other 'tissue' tanks. It lays beautifully; it must be the cut of the top since it is not as bulky as some other tops available this past season. The only caveat is you may have to iron the pleats after washing.

    ReplyDelete
  120. shannee - thanks! mine still says "submitted" which I think is a step behind "open" - YIKES. I'm scared it's not going to ship...:(

    ReplyDelete
  121. Vivian2, anon at 11:48 asked a question about an ebay seller, in which it was revealed the seller was attempted to engage the poster in an illegal activity. Some responders - please be aware anyone can post as anonymous - pointed out this was an unethical practice. I think to lecture those responders is condescending of you. You're welcome to skim over posts you don't care for, but as laura1 pointed out, she asked a question, and it was answered.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Kater, math teacher, FFM: Guess what?? I have a Fedex tracking number for the giraffe necklace!! Despite receiving an email to say the order has been "inventory cancelled." I'm keeping my fingers crossed it gets here tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  123. YEAH VIVIAN!!! I'm so excited! keep us posted! Their system is just so screwy you never know what will happen!

And I think it was blumre who was interested in the opera necklace...;)

    ReplyDelete
  124. How long is it these website snafus have been going on now, three months? I wouldn't have thought it possible to have such an incompetent upgrade in this day and age. I placed an order a month ago of five new items, and the package arrived with only three, yet I was billed for everything. Ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  125. math teacher: I should be submitting a journal manuscript right now...

The dream tie cardi in navy is really, really pretty, and somehow makes the cardi looks sleeker than the other colors. Maybe it's the color, but the navy looked more fitted on me somehow. I may return the eggplant.

As for the tartines, I'm keeping the black, white and heather mushroom but will return the rhubarb. The heather mushroom turned out to be surprise hit. The website doesn't do it justice at all. It's just a neither here nor there kind of red to me.

Did you get your cashmere tie vest? It's final sale but the colors are limited.

Hmmm, I'm going to get some gas on my way home. I'm running a half tank - DH laughs at how overconscientious I get with gas. I always top it up before it gets below the midpoint.

    ReplyDelete
  126. I have gotten most of my final sale orders lately. The black San Telmo jacket was cancelled and the Lisa jacket has been cancelled twice, though...but for the most part I've been lucky!

I used the 20% coupon in store today and with the promotion, I got the wool fiona in gray for $118. I sized down in it (had tried it on before and wasn't all that impressed) and now I LOVE it!!! I am so excited and can't wait until it's cool enough to wear it.

Does anyone predict the Lulu heels going on sale at any point? I want them SO bad but don't need them enough to pay $200 right now (even with the 20% discount). I'd probably only want to pay about $100...

    ReplyDelete
  127. amy, did you buy other stuff in the store, or just the fiona? Doesn't the 20% only kick in if the amount is over $175? I thought the fionas had been marked down, but I haven't been in a store in a week or so.

    ReplyDelete
  128. kater: I'll keep you posted about the giraffe necklace!

Hope you get your order soon. What did you get? The "submitted" status can be scary. I had to cancel one order because it wasn't moving at all to "releaseable" and "released." CS created a new duplicate order for me to get things moving along. Hopefully this is a computer glitch that has been solved by now.

    ReplyDelete
  129. thanks for asking vivian! I got the kelsey tank dress in gray, the twisted placket shirt in gray (trying to recreate the look in the catalog), and the color block crystal button cardigan in the yellow color.

I'm nervous though...I just keep telling myself that their system is bogged down because of the coupon and everyone ordering. If the status doesn't change tomorrow, I'm calling...

    ReplyDelete
  130. Anon at 10 PM, I also bought the dream tie cardigan in navy. :) I'm more excited about these purchases than any I've made in a while! The fiona was on promotion for $148.50 and was about $118 with the 20% off. The cardigan was $69.99 on final sale, so 20% off that and then the 20% coupon made it $49ish.

    ReplyDelete
  131. I did receive my Cooper Jacket tonight that I ordered from FS in Monday - so I guess I'm lucky

OT - this is probably the best deal on any item I've gotten from JC in a while - this is a nice jacket - especially for the price!

    ReplyDelete
  132. Alexis: Thanks! It's good to be back. I have really missed this blog. Being a lurker is not quite the same as seeing my name in blue.

    ReplyDelete
  133. I did order a final sale skirt last week that came to me. When I called 2 hours after the order the customer service rep said that it might not come becuase there were only 7 in stock. Hours later the same day I made a repeat order to get something in a hurry and the Lucie heel said final sale on one of my orders and not on the other. I've emailed them 2 times this week with no response. I'm going to call next.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Vivian: It's great to see your name in blue too! :)

    ReplyDelete
  135. Kater: You got the color block cardi!!! Yay!

    ReplyDelete
  136. This is probably a little late but jill c, I hope you read this. I, too had the problem of them not applying the GC when items in my order were cancelled (i.e. the whole amount was charged to my credit card). It happened twice. The first time they refunded the GC amount to my credit card without delay. This time they had to "investigate" before they would let me know whether they would refund me the money. Maybe you can call back after you receive the order?

    ReplyDelete
  137. J.Crew cancelled my orders many times but I took a second chance and ordered Wavy glass-bead necklace in guava (95041) and Baird McNutt linen pencil skirt in flax (93773) during final sales. I still can't believe that they finally came!!!

    ReplyDelete
  138. vivian: Fingers crossed for you, too! Post as soon as you know! :)

    ReplyDelete
  139. I am SHOCKED that this type of poor service is still being dished out by JCrew....really really sad...this is going to hurt them dearly if it continues for another few months.....imagine November and Christmas shopping starting...what a mess. I wouldn't order any gifts from them if this is still going on...wouldn't want to chance it and the amount of packages being delivered and room for error will just increase ten fold! So sad for this to happen to my favorite clothing store but I guess they brought it on themselves...

  141. FFM, Kater, math teacher: The giraffe necklace is here!! It's soooo pretty, and not as ostentatious/loud ("statement necklace of the year" got me worried). The clasp (smaller than depicted in the photos, phew) is delicate with fine detailing enamel work, and the smoky grey beads are just yummy! LOVE IT! The length (40") works although I'm 5' 4".

    ReplyDelete
  142. Glad you got your necklace! I know there are people out there who like the JCrew jewelry but I am not a fan...my store just started carrying the jewelry line in Aug. and the SA were so excited but I just glanced at it, smiled and moved on...for the price I can get close to real stuff!

    ReplyDelete
  143. yeah vivian! I am so excited for you! And that you like it! I adore mine, although I haven't worn it yet...

This is my "ode" to it on polyvore...:)

    ReplyDelete
  144. ps - how are you planning on wearing it????

    ReplyDelete
  145. kater: I did check out polyvore and zoomed in on your set before I ordered the necklace :) I'm thinking black turtleneck for now. Something simple and not too busy to showcase the necklace. You have the same idea in your set. With the grey beads, it's quite versatile. May go well with many of the black-grey combos shown on the website.

    ReplyDelete
  146. vivian: CONGRATULATIONS on the Giraffe Necklace! That is just FABULOUS! :)

    ReplyDelete
  147. FFM: Thanks! I can't locate the necklace in any of your polyvore sets. If you could find time one of these days, could you do a set for me featuring the necklace?

Do you know when you'll receive your Bella? I haven't had a chance to wear mine yet :)

    ReplyDelete
  148. vivian: I'll definitely create a set with the necklace! :) I should get my Bella next week...I already made a couple of sets for it. Did you also get the Camel Bella?

    ReplyDelete
  149. yeah ffm! I can't wait to see what you'll do with the giraffe necklace. I'm excited!

    ReplyDelete
  150. kater: Do you mind if I ask why you haven't worn the necklace yet? I'd like to know so that I don't commit a fashion faus pax in my possible blind affection for this hard-founded item.

  151. FFM: Thank you! Yes, I got my herringbone bella in camel, as you recommended earlier. It's 60 degrees now, maybe I'll get a chance to wear it today. Let me go check out your sets.

  152. of course I don't mind your asking vivian!

The simple thing is, I just haven't had the occasion for it yet! I'm on a short-term fellowship for dissertation writing/research and am in the library every day. So it's pretty much jeans and cardis. I feel like the giraffe necklace deserves more...:) I have a conference coming up in october, and I plan to wear the polyvore outfit I made with the necklace then. Or wear it with a black suit and a heather gray tank. haven't made the inal outfit decision yet, but the giraffe necklace will be included either way!

  153. vivian: With my Bella...I'm going to wear a brown, cream, or white tank or possibly a Jackie Shell in one of those colors while the weather is still on the warmer side. Further into Fall I am going to wear one of the Tissue Turtlenecks with it. :)

  154. kater: Thanks for sharing. I'm just worried that the fact that I actually received the necklace after a series of debacles with J.Crew has clouded my fashion judgment :)

    ReplyDelete
  155. I understand! Jcrew plays mind tricks with me all the time. But I don't doubt your fashion sense at all and think whatever you put the necklace with will be fabulous!

I can't wait to see what FFM does with it, because my ideas are pretty run of the mill!

  156. kater: I don't think your ideas with the necklace are run of the mill at all. I decided to buy the necklace after I saw how well it would go with a simple and elegant outfit and not look outlandish. I'd be wary if this necklace is something that would only go well with a black fedora and purple fishnet stockings :)

  157. thanks for the compliment vivian...and what, no purple fishnets???? ;)

  158. jcrewbug: I forgot to say thanks for the congrats on the color-block cardi amongst the giraffe necklace excitement...:) So thanks! I just want it to come. Like today ;)

  159. vivian and kater: I created 4 sets on Polyvore with the Giraffe necklace...take a look when you get the chance. :)

    ReplyDelete
  160. I already did! I'm in major procrastination mode today...:) And they are all PERFECT. Seriously. I'm going to try to do all of them with what I have!

    You're the best!!!

  161. vivian: congrats on getting your necklace! I'm so glad JC came through for you. No, I haven't gotten the argyle vest. My b&m didn't have it and now I'm afraid to order it b/c it's final sale. It's just too much to pay if it doesn't fit right. So, I'm going to wait and hope that it gets marked down and some fabulous aficinada sees it in their store. :)

  162. FFM: You're just fabulous! I'm crazy about all four sets! You really made my day by incorporating my recent purchases - the dream tie cardi in heather silver, the las palmas bag in platinum gold, camel bella, serengeti midheels, spectator mary janes and the 5-pocket jeans! Just a couple more pieces to stalk, and I'm in fashion heaven! THANK YOU!

  163. math teacher: Thanks! It's nice to have JC come through for me once in a while.

Could you order the vest by asking CS to put in a note to say you could return it if the fit's wrong?

    ReplyDelete
  164. vivian: I hadn't thought about that. Only, they don't have what I want online, so I'd have to order from a store. Hmm, now you have me thinking I may give it a try. If they say no, well then I won't order it, right? You've been back for 24 hours and you're already enabling - how's it feel? :D

  165. I have placed 2 orders recently and received all items but one: cable cashmere crewneck in dark poppy. When I placed last order, CS tols me that only 1 item was available for sure, and other 3 seemed out of stock but she was still able to place an order for me. So out of these 3, 2 actually shipped which I am thrilled about: cashmere cardigan in bight poppy (love the color!) and femme cardigan in black - by the way I love this sweater. Description says: bracelet sleeves but it seems liek they are just regulr sleeves: not too short not too long. The fabric is thicker and cut is very flattering. Besides, both cardigans were a great deal at $51 each. The only problem I have is that bright poppy cardigan had no tag on, which I thought was weird, so its like somebody might have taken the tag off, wore it, then returned... Why no tag? And what if I had to return it? I also asked the CS to put a note saying that I could return the femme cardigan since no picture was showing up on the website. My invoice had no such note and I wonder if she even put it in. By the way, I got 40% plus 15% student for both of most recent orders.

Anyways, I got great deals and am pretty happy. I really dont need any more cardis, I am maxed out. :)

  166. math teacher: I see no harm asking. Just tell them your local JC doesn't carry this item, and you're not sure how it fits on you. Usually they are quite accommodating about final sale returns unless the policy has changed again recently!

Aww, we're all enablers here! If I could enable you to get an item of your heart's desire, I count myself lucky!

  167. vivian: I didn't get a chance to call tonight - too busy getting ready for my onsite grad class tomorrow. And, I'll be in Columbia for most of tomorrow. I might try calling Sunday. I just know that right after I call, the 20% will go up! To wait, or not to wait!? I think as long as I get a good sa, that you're right and they'd allow me to return it if it doesn't fit right. I do love it online and those who have it like it too, so I'm going to try. :)

I finally took a look at this infamous giraffe necklace and it's really pretty! I can't believe it's taken me this long to check it out since many were talking about it earlier this summer. So, extra congrats on your new necklace! I think ffm's outfits with it are nice, too, and she's enabling you to buy more to go with it. :)

Kater, have you been in your b&m lately? I know your store had some last week and I was wondering if they still did. If not, I'll try Bridgewater, since someone mentioned seeing a bag of them there. TIA

    ReplyDelete
  168. hi math teacher! I haven't been back to my B&M since last week when I first saw the vest. Sorry I couldn't be more help! I wish I was going this weekend, but I have a ton of errands to do, and don't think I'm going to be able to squeeze it in (shocking I know...;). Keep me posted on what you decide to do though (order as Vivian suggested with the option to return or wait it out so more) and I will keep an eye out for it.

    ReplyDelete
  169. kater: thanks. I've got a couple of other stores to call and hopefully one will have it and be willing to give me the option to return. I'll let you know.
