20% off (for lucky you!)

J.Crew is offering 20% off all orders of $125+ with code PRIVSALE ("thanks!" to Daniel for letting us know in the "J.Crew Swim sale: Up to 30% off!" post).

"Thanks!" also to Slastena in the same post who let us know that they are also offering 20% off all orders of $175+ with code PRIVATE. Both offers expires 6/18/08.

UPDATE: Many of the visitors have noted that PRIVSALE isn't working for them on orders of $125+, however PRIVATE does work on those same orders! ;)

Just keep in mind that you can only use one promotion code per order. So chances are you will probably be debating whether you should use the "free shipping" code or this "20% off" code. Too bad we are not allowed to use both codes because then this becomes a great offer! :)

  3. Anonymous at 10:16 AM: I guess there are two separate codes that J.Crew sent out.

Amy: I don't know how you got both sent to you but that is fantastic! :)

I personally don't understand their marketing/email system. (I get some of their emails but not others.)

  5. I think they send cardholders and people who shop alot the better one maybe... they do use your email addy for the login.. but I dunno. They prob have a statistic for sending out certain ones to certain shoppers with certain shopping habits. I also learned that JCrew uses cookies to see what you click on and how many times you do and at what price you buy that item. So.. they know at what price people are willing to pay for certain items.

  6. Sue.Bee- Me too! I want to see those codes back. :)

Anonymous at 11:29 AM: You know a lot about J.Crew. :) That is fantastic for us at this blog (so we can learn more about them). I also didn't realize they track us with cookies to see what price we are willing to pay. That is good to know. :)

  7. This is so funny... I have two different email accounts and both of them are signed up for the J.Crew mailings. At one email address, I got the code for a $125 minimum and the other email, the $175 minimum. I don't think we'll ever figure them out!

  8. Lynn: I think you are right- I don't think we will ever figure out how their email/marketing works. :)

  9. I tried the PRIVSALE on an order of $125 and it didn't work but the coupon code PRIVATE did (and it was only on an order of $125)...saved me $25. Good luck. Also, I think sometimes these codes work and sometimes they don't...last night I tried the IJN-160 to get free shipping and it wouldn't do it and today it would. Of course, I chose the PRIVE coupon instead.

    Thanks

  10. Thanks Susan for letting us know that PRIVATE worked for you as well (and for the smaller minimum amount)! That is great you were able to use the coupon too. :)

  11. I was also sent the 20% off $175 first thing this morning to the email address I use for all of my purchases, and then this afternoon I was sent the 20% off $125 to another email address I have signed up, but have never used for any purchases. There is definitely some method to the way they send out the emails...now if they would just let you use 2 at a time like Gap, BR, etc., you could really get a good deal. :)

  12. I just used PRIVSALE... I had an order at $453.00 after the discount, with shipping, and taxes the total was still $409.00... GOSHHHH JCrew we need free shipping over $200.00 this is REDONKULOUS! I will not be buying anything else online from them for awhile But, I did save some on some things I have been wanting.

  13. Wow Anonymous at 3:41PM! You did some major shopping at the Crew today. :) For the amount you spent, you should have received free shipping in addition to 20% off! :)

FabulousFloridaMommy- It would be great if J.Crew would allow us to stack codes. :)

  15. Just a helpful reminder for those looking for sale items that appear to have disappeared from the sale section...

If you know the item code, use the "Shop By Item #". Enter the item code and append it with a "Z" at the end. That will bring up the item with the sale price. You'll have to play around with the sizes/colors to see if what you want is still in stock or wait-listed.

I had tried appending "ST" at the end, and though it listed ALL the sale colors, it took forever to figure out which ones were in stock. "Z" will cut the list down to the more likely suspects (it also includes the regular priced options).

I hope this link worked - I managed to get into the winter collection! Some good deals to be had - $39.99 sweaters, $19.99 pants, $4.99 headbands...now nobody buy the XLs until I finish shopping!

  18. Did anyone read the fine print in the 20% off $175 or more email? "...Mass distribution and/or promotion of this offer by any means, including, but not limited to, electronic transmission, is strictly prohibited."

How would they enforce this statement?

  19. Annon 10:06pm: I read another blog for shipping codes where an employee of j.crew posted that they are tracking how many times a person uses a shipping code. They are also cracking down on code sharing like removing the links from retailmenot.com.

Sue.Bee: another good tip is if you have already purchased and your order shipped but an item reappears in the sale - just call them and have them "add" it to the previous order, more often then not they wave the shipping.

  20. five tomatoes, I just tried your link and it said the page didn't exist. Maybe if you post the item numbers you were searching, I could do with lots of winter items up here in Canada. lol. Only if you thought they were worthy items.

  23. So I'm going to Hawaii for vacation next week and would love to get some new Jcrew at 20% off to take with -- any recommendations of what you'd get if you were going to be in Hawaii for 2 weeks??

    ReplyDelete
  24. In my nightly J Crew site cruising, I've noticed they have started another "Final Sale" and added back may items that have previously been sold out... I quickly filled my cart with several items I had thought I had missed out on... some Cafe capri's for 29.99 and some jewelry I waited a little too long and had vanished... plus I was able to use the 20% off coupon! Yippie!

  25. SMGraham: I am happy to hear you were able to get some items you wanted in addition to the 20% off! :)

Anonymous at 7:17PM: Congrats on going to visit Hawaii. I am sure you will have a fabulous time. I would definitely take a couple of bathing suits (maybe the Flamenco-dot banded tank) and comfortable sandals/flats. Since Hawaii is a bit warmer than most locations, I suppose cute shorts like the Fiji floral linen shorts and J.Crew's Parisian polos would look great. I also like airy dresses that work well for both day and night, like the Swiss-dot Bobbie sundress. :) I am sure you will pick out great items to wear. Have a great time!!! ;)

  26. Does anyone know of any current promo codes that are working?

  27. Hi Anonymous at 10:17 PM! If you look back on the main page of the blog, on the upper right hand side I list all the current coupons that J.Crew is offering. Hope that helps! :)
